STORY OF jAIN EMPIRE Was Bimbisara a Buddhist or Jain He and his son, Ajatashatru, became patrons of Buddhism. He is also said to have been a friend of Mahavira, or Jina, the great teacher of the Jain tradition. Bimbisara was 15 when he became king and 52 when he was murdered.
Jainism was patronised by the Mauryan Emperor Chandragupta. His grandson Ashoka would later go on to patronise Buddhism. Chandragupta Maurya was the founder of the Mauryan Empire, one of the greatest Indian empires in history.

Two reasons for the success of Chandragupta was: 1) Sheree hardwork and dedication towards the work. 2) obeying the words of his guru Acharya Chanakya. And giving respect to him.

I think we have very little information about ancient India. The story you said about Dhnanand and chandragupta maurya is different .Most modern day historians give the reference of the book Mudrarakshas ( vishakhadtta) and it contains a different story and at that time there were huge numbers of non Aryan people (tribal) which had different faith and practices. Jains Buddhists and Hindus have a common ancestor so all of them will find roots in indus valley civilization..

Jainism talk about Bhav Ahninsa, Don't think bad about anyone but when you need to save your country or family you can do hinsa but you should not do Bhav Hinsa.

I understand that to save and protect your people it is mandatory to go to war sometimes but I think if Jains didn’t expand through sea because it would hurt jiva in the water and we do our best to save even micro-organisms. I find it bizarre to understand that a king who is needed to take harsh decisions and commit hinsa in many forms for the kingdom would be able to practice Jainsim?

@@anviiiijain Chandragupta maurya ne Diksha nai liya rehta to aaj jainsim protected rehta... jainsim is so deep if your start studying it you end up taking Dikha and then yoy cant protect it no Hinsa no violence... we jain only slowly ending our dharma instead of spreading it in right way... meditation is base of Jainism but now days no jain sadhu talk about it and other hindu taking money to teach it... jainism is so scientific and deep but no one is explaining it in scientific way...

He was hindu Kshatriya and follower of vedic dharma
It was only during his death time he converted to Jainism and died
Only hindu Kshatriya tradition allow violence. And Acharya Chanakya (A Brahman) was his Guru. Brahman+Kshatriya both together created the empire
Will Jainism allow violence?
