Then she orders the cook to do the same thing with Sleeping Beauty. Fortunately, the cook deceives the queen, substituting different animal meat for the three victims. But the queen later discovers the deception, and orders a tub of vile creatures - lizards, snails, snakes, spiders, etc. - intending to throw the cook, the children, and Sleeping Beauty into it. Just in time, the Prince returns to prevent the murder, and the queen dives into the tub herself, committing suicide. Now that's something you'll never see in a Disney movie!

lol here in The Netherlands there's a children's fairytale that goes something like this: There were two neighbours: grootoog (big-eye) and kleinoog (small-eye). grootoog is mad at his neighbour so he kills kleinoog's cow. Kleinoog skins his dead cow and goes to the market where he scares some thieves with his cow's skin and gets their money. Grootoog wants a lot of money as well so he kills and skins all his cows and goes to the market with the skins he's collected but he only gets a small amount of money for them. Grootoog gets jealous of Kleinoog and wants to murder him but he accidentally murders Kleinoog's mother by chopping her head off with an axe in her sleep. Kleinoog put his dead mom on a cart and when a man wants to ask her something the man nudges her to 'wake her up' and her head falls off. The man thinks he's killed the old lady and gives Kleinoog a big amount of money. Grootoog, the greedy motherfucker he is, gets jealous again so he kills his own mother and tried to sell her corpse on the market. Obviously it didn't work. Grootoog, now overwhelmed with rage kidnaps Kleinoog and stuffs him in a barrel and throws the barrel in the river. A man finds the barrel with Kleinoog inside and saves him. When Grootoog and Kleinoog meet again Grootoog asks Kleinoog why he's still alive. Kleinoog tells him that when he was inside the barrel he was transported to a wonderful dreamland where a man offered him a lot of money for iron. Sadly Kleinoog didn't have any iron so he didn't get any money. Grootoog wants the man's money. Kleinoog helps him into the barrel and gives Grootoog some iron to give to the man. Because of the heavy iron the barrel sinks and Grootoog drowns to death. THE END GOOD NIGHT KIDS
i never liked Snow White or Sleeping Beauty because seriously?...dude comes across a "dead" girl's body and falls for the body and just decides he has to have it? what the actual fuck? who goes around kissing supposed dead girls?
I remember reading a story book in school library titled 'The Little Mermaid' back in primary school and never knew it was the original version. The prince couldn't recognise her but she went to see him anyway just to watch him announcing he is going to marry the girl he thought have saved him. The mermaid remained dancing in pain with the prince and his fiance laughing at her and her sisters later on passed her a knife to kill the prince but she chose to turn into foam. I was so shocked to read the story by that time thinking it is an amended version from the original just to find out IT WAS THE ORIGINAL STORY.
Yes, the original story by Hans Christian Anderson is a cautionary tragic tale. 1. Be happy with what you have; and 2. Things don't always work out the way you want them to. (Some have interpreted the second part as "Never marry your high school sweetheart.) I like both the original and the Disney version, for different reasons.
In the Korean version of Cinderella, there is only 1 stepsister, who becomes jealous of Cinderella and drowns her in a pond. She comes back to life as a flower, where the stepsister throws her into the fire again. This time, she regenerates as a marble, and threatens to kill the man that took the marble if he does not invite her prince to a meal. There, she places his chopsticks differently, and when the prince notices this, she asks how come he noticed the chopsticks difference, but noy his wife. The prince realizes hus mistake, and Cinderella (here it gets really gruesome) chops her stepsister and gives her carcass to her stepmother to eat, and then, her stepmother dies as well.
When I was growing up in the 80's my mother rented those Walt Disney versions on Betamax so I taught these are the original Tales of these stories never knew the Grimm Brothers original versions were really Horror Stories with moral lessons.
If you grew up in Germany, this doesn't ruin your childhood, but is pretty much how the stories are read to you... at least the ones that have been written down by the brothers Grimm or by Hans Christian Anderson...
In my university it was mentioned that fairy tales are really different in original form than what we know today. I remember about little red riding hood, that there was not a wolf or a huntsman, it was red killing her grandmother and actually eating her. This way the story would portray that anything old, the old people, situations etc have to make place for the new things. She was the young, she killed the old in order to thrive
The Cinderella story exists in many European countries. In one version, the stepsister are beautiful, but blackhearted. Cinderella is befriended by woodland animals and birds. At the end, the sisters are found out, but Cinderella forgives them. The animals don't and chase them into the woods, where crows peck out their eyes...
Am I the only one who knew most of the darker versions, and prefers some of them over Disney's childen-friendly versions? If not, I must be terribly sadistic.
Strange how a little kid's cartoon (HELLO KITTY) did the beauty and the beast one.. Unless that the beauty and the beast story that was told in this video without the darkness then nvm.
Yap, I have a really old German Tale Book in which all these storys are told in this "dark" way. I didn't even know the disney versions until I was about 18.
Yhe three little pigs story was in my little sisters story book.. When i read it that one line that said "The three little pigs had wolf soup to last them for days...." I just skipped that part for my sisters sake..
Growing up in Germany you can't really get around the original versions. I think all of my friends including myself would at least know 3/4 of the original ones and more likely don't know the Disney version
While I do love the Disney and other production companies versions of the fairytales, every now and then I wish someone would make the stories EXACTLY as they were originally created. Kinda like a Tales From The Crypt kind of thing. Short little horror stories. But seriously, there is far too much murder, torture, rape, incest, and unhappy endings in these "childrens's tales". I want my daughter to grow up loving the animated classics like I do, but when she is old enough, she will be taught the original tales. Her father and I are on the search for the Grim's Fairytales collection.
No no, i don't feel that way at all. I know the Grimms didn't invent all the old tales. I do have one small book of their stuff somewhere in storage. I'm glad you're passionate about your culture and that you're standing up for it.
***** the grimm brothers didn"t write all the stories they went all around the world to collect these I believe these stories are stories that people told everyone and that everyone changed the stories a bit and finally somenone puts them on paper
I knew all the original stories as a child and as we had copies of all the originals. They were gruesome but they never did me any permanent harm, and were honestly more entertaining than the Disney versions.
I like those stories too, and I admit that all the modern versions of said tales are a bit too much in the lighthearted department, good thing Adam Gidwitz's Grimm trilogy brings those storied back to their roots while making an original story that connects them in a creative way (and my series Mythzone doesn't skip on the dark stuff either).
TheBiggaproductions i wow shits gone down i guess. do you have to say shit? i guess so. ok well i guess people can't say their damn opinions with out people saying shit.
I did too! Why didn't they do that one instead? I mean, sure the drowning part is disturbing, but at least she comes back to life to have vengeance on them turning them to stone!
The Little Mermaid did not just lose her voice. The sea witch cut out her tongue. And let's not forget the story about the girl and the red shoes. She was cursed to dance forever. When she cried for help because she could not stop dancing, some men "saved" her by cutting off her feet as the shoes - and her severed feet - danced away. I would love to read the real versions to kids before they went to bed.
Wow. In the more lighthearted version she ends up dancing for days and nights, passes by thorn bushes, etc. Then dhe fianlly manages to get off her shoes and she can't walk properly and has to use a cane.
It's not conspiracy it's how these fairy tales actually went, read Grimm's Fairy Tales or look in to the countless variations of these Fairy Tales. Don't rely on Disney for the actual story. Most fairy tales are bloody and gruesome.
but the scary part is that they realistically make more sense and some of the illuminati shit IS real , the fairy tales always have different versions however. some for kids , some for adults.
Sleeping Beauty gets even worse! The king who raped Sleeping Beauty (Talia, her original name) had a wife and lived in another castle and he had to go back to his kingdom but he promised Talia that he is going to take her to his caste after some time, but when he goes back to his kingdom, his wife finds out what's going on by hearing him saying in his sleep Talia, Sun and Moon ( the names of the princess and the twins) and sends a letter to Talia, invites her to the castle and tells her to bring the twins. Talia goes and the queen kills the princess and the kids and gives them to the cook...The story ands with the king eating his own children and his loved one and after he finishes, his wife tells him what happend and he pukes...I hope you enjoed
Well from what I remember reading it when I was little, the queen gave the children to the cook but the cook couldn't bear to kill them so he substituted with a pig. The queen had the king eat it, thinking it was the children, and told him after his children were in there. He then orders the queen to be murdered. The cook brings him briar rose and the children and the king marries the princess and they have a happy ending. Still gruesome but oh well
Same, but mine was in 3rd grade and the book was in the "Fairy Tale" bucket. My classroom also have The Little Mermaid and Snow White and I read them all
Imagine viewing the original stories in a cinema. 10 year olds just scream and cry while you are in the front row, eating popcorn and enjoying yourself!
Also let me tell you the version of Red riding hood I grew up with. Indeed the huntsman in it does exist but by the time he appears the wolf had already eaten the little girl and her grandma and was fast asleep. The huntsman quietly tore open his stomach [don't ask me how, I didn't get that either] and out came the two victims unharmed. The wolf somehow remained alive, the huntsman put rocks in his stomach, the grandma sew it back together and the three hid somewhere. The wolf woke up, barely walking with the rocks inside causing him enourmous pain assuming the grandma and little girl were just too heavy. The wolf came by a well, tried to drink from it but the huntsman pushed him inside and tnx to the rocks's weight the wolf drowned. THE END. Tnx, grandma for telling me weird stories.
I never knew that Beauty died. By the hands of her own sisters, no less. And Beast is the only true, and noble, prince in the list. Cinderella, a narcissistic egotist. Snow White, a necrophiliac. Worst of all. Sleeping Beauty. The dude's a rapist! To be fair, the prince in Rapunzel was a decent man.
Actually, have you ever heard of the version where Little Red and Grandmother gets eaten alive by the wolf, but while in the stomach, they claw their way out.?
Ive heard about a Korean fairy tale. Kongjwi and patjwi (?, I'm not sure about the title) Wherein one of them married a magistrate. And then, the other got jealous that she drowned her. Afterwards, she pretended to be the magistrate's wife, but the magistrate's late wife told the magistrate what happened. So the magistrate wanted to punish the girl. He killed her and got her pickled. After that, he sent her pickled body to her mother. Her mother, unknowingly ate her child. Then she got sick and died
In elementary school, we had a book of the little red Riding hood which was the same as the creepy one, but the huntsman cut the grandma and riding hood out of the wolf and they survived.
@@EERRREAAGARRAAAAGREAAAAHHH lol I don't remember commenting this Edit: I read a book about the origin of the story and it says that the wolf r@ped red riding hood. It's a book that studies the sexuality and philosophy of fairytales
The more sinister version of that is when the wolf ate her grandmother and cooked the leftovers and her blood to served them to little red riding hood without knowing that she actually ate her own grandmother (child cannibalising her own grandmother). Theres also a kid stripping (rape) and at the end, the wolf finally ate red riding hood.
That's because most fairytales are german(ish) from origin. I did grow up with the dsiney-versions, but I also knew all the 'real'versions, as I lived in Germany. It's just sad, that people only get grossed out by the true story's and don't get the lessons out of it, though.
The weird thing is that I read these versions as a kid myself, we didn't have the new versions of these fairy tails, so I read these creepy ones, but for some reason they didn't bother me. Some fairy tales had shorter endings, so they weren't quite as creepy
If I recall, The Little Mermaid's heart broke when the Prince chose the Princess over her, but she was unwilling to expose them to shame at the mercy of her father and grandmother or the Sea Witch, so she threw the knife at her shell instead, then became the Child of Air after her body turned to sea foam.
Your voice is perfect for this and also pauses and changes tones sometimes to show that you're still a person telling this story, I like how you interact with us

I grew up with those versions so that's why I find it surprising most people don't know of them and that the original story counts as an interesting, even secret fact. No one said those tales were meant for kids.

+Anny whocares If Grimm means something like "macabre" or "scary", then it is like the German word Grimmig (grimm-alike, although it's a word that's not in use that much anymore.) So it's likely it has the same origin of the Brothers Grimm.
Cute Cakes And in English the word means "macabre" or "dark; creepy." You are correct, but I was alluding to wordplay.

lol here in The Netherlands there's a children's fairytale that goes something like this:
There were two neighbours: grootoog (big-eye) and kleinoog (small-eye). grootoog is mad at his neighbour so he kills kleinoog's cow.

Or, mermaids and mortals don't mix!

I have the Grimms Fairy Tales.

Michael Dugenia i hate those red shoes... my friend gave me a Hans Christian Andersen fairytales book and THE RED SHOES UGH
Where can I buy those books?? 😭😭
Wow. In the more lighthearted version she ends up dancing for days and nights, passes by thorn bushes, etc. Then dhe fianlly manages to get off her shoes and she can't walk properly and has to use a cane.
I'm on that creepy conspiracy side of youtube again...
It's not conspiracy it's how these fairy tales actually went, read Grimm's Fairy Tales or look in to the countless variations of these Fairy Tales. Don't rely on Disney for the actual story. Most fairy tales are bloody and gruesome.
FattishWonder i know, i meant the recommended videos are all conspiracy videos lol
but the scary part is that they realistically make more sense and some of the illuminati shit IS real , the fairy tales always have different versions however. some for kids , some for adults.

Also in the end of Cinderella, the evil stepsisters come to Cindy's wedding, and her bird friends peck their eyes out. Great.
That is worse 😷
Well from what I remember reading it when I was little, the queen gave the children to the cook but the cook couldn't bear to kill them so he substituted with a pig. The queen had the king eat it, thinking it was the children, and told him after his children were in there. He then orders the queen to be murdered. The cook brings him briar rose and the children and the king marries the princess and they have a happy ending. Still gruesome but oh well
For some reason, I remember my preschool had that version of the Rapunzel story.
I remember being told that too
Me too, it was a good book. I heard about the whole trade for daughter thing, but I had no idea about the desert part
Same, but mine was in 3rd grade and the book was in the "Fairy Tale" bucket. My classroom also have The Little Mermaid and Snow White and I read them all

Sofitssofi I know this version too we read it in elementary school
Damn I read it too
I never knew that Beauty died.

Yeah
thats not it its when the wolf and red both eat granny alive
Ive heard about a Korean fairy tale.
Kongjwi and patjwi (?, I'm not sure about the title)
Wherein one of them married a magistrate.
Yes I remember that version from school as well
What about the raping part?
Anonyme User what?...
@@EERRREAAGARRAAAAGREAAAAHHH lol I don't remember commenting this
Edit: I read a book about the origin of the story and it says that the wolf r@ped red riding hood.

SweetTears666 I grew up with all these stories. Nothing new here.
That's because most fairytales are german(ish) from origin. I did grow up with the dsiney-versions, but I also knew all the 'real'versions, as I lived in Germany. It's just sad, that people only get grossed out by the true story's and don't get the lessons out of it, though.
I live in Denmark and I totally agree :)
The weird thing is that I read these versions as a kid myself, we didn't have the new versions of these fairy tails, so I read these creepy ones, but for some reason they didn't bother me. Some fairy tales had shorter endings, so they weren't quite as creepy

Harrypotterfan334 Peter Pan's not a fairy tale, though. It's a children's novel and originally a play, dating only to Edwardian England.
true
Harrypotterfan334 that was never proven ..'cause in the original book it never says he kills them it says he "thins them out" which doesn't necessarily means he kills them
