I love that you do these in real time so we get to see learning process and learn from that, too. I just did eight sun rise cards and wish I'd seen this with the people! So much more interesting than weeds and birds, lol! Your explanations as you paint are so helpful!

Princeton isn't expensive if I used a 40.00 brush for gouache thats one thing but a 10.00 one nope.

Hi Ellen, you have inspired me to give gouache a try. I’m so used to the transparency and fluidity of watercolor that I find gouache difficult, especially getting even layers. Hopefully, it will get easier with practice. Thanks for the lessons!

Yup, this is what I’ve been doing for my friends and family in Colorado. Since I live in Florida they’ll have something completely different as far as landscape goes. Can’t wait to get on that plane! Thanks Ellen. Both beautiful pieces! Blessings to you and everyone.

Love these Ellen! Florida gal here and always taking photos of sunsets, water, birds, water fowl, marinas and my favorite, a little shack on the Homosassa River ( old Florida), called Shelly’s seafood. You can enter by boat, tie up and jump onto the dock, or drive up behind it via land.
I am new to water color and have all the paints you use, on order. Will have to add the burnt umber and cobalt blue. Don’t think I had those colors on my order.
Thanks so much for sharing your talents. I love the way you teach and your style of painting. I come from more detailed type crafting, card making and use of colored pencils or comic markers so I need to train my brain to ‘loosen up’. Not easy.
