"You must understand that there is more than one path to the top of the mountain." Is quote that left the biggest impact on me really. Especially so after i've read Vagabond and seen how Matahachi's story played out in it.
I find it great to see how he is the complete opposite of Takezo. He says he'll do something, and then deosn't, like many of the readers ( me included) probably have done before. Takezo does what he says he'll do, and that made me be less of a Matahachi.
@@vodago We're also all different and have different paths to walk. Perhaps not doing something is exactly what our own path requires of us. Humans like to resist the way of things instead of accepting it. Maybe both of those options are different paths too.

That is one of the things I have been pretty good at lately...
I have always been regreting things I have done wrong, and be bitter about it...
But now, if I make a mistake about something, and I imidiately realise that I have made a mistake, I will make sure to not make the same mistake next time.
And I also have no regrets about mistakes that I made in the past. I made them long ago, have learned from them, and are behind me.

He really was so close to the Truth that he used it to kill his opponents. Actually, his opponents really just ended up killing themselves through their own mistakes. It just so happened that Musashis weapons always found his opponents mistakes.

These quotes are Perfect.
War is arguably even harder these days i.e. internal struggles, disagreements with others, ideological/culture wars - because things are covered in a veneer of niceness and comfort - yet underneath, the Hobbesian and Darwinian reality of life lingers. We are a fighting species and comfort, peace and unity is more the exception rather than the norm through time and space.

Having followers doesn’t make you not alone, especially for someone like him that is an elite at what he does, it is difficult to find companions that you can truly connect with.
