The year before that match, John had beaten Denis in a way that made it seem like Denis wouldn't beat him in 5 years, I think that's why he celebrated that victory so much. John had also defeated him twice in zloty 2008

It is sort of mind-boggling the manner in which Denis defeated Arsen in that second arm fight. Hopefully we see Arsen make a comeback to the sport though. I have always loved his style and there are some great match-ups for him nowadays.
Arsen only won in the first match because Denis went against Pushkar, both Denis and Pushkar could have crushed arsen at that event if they were fresh

Denis then fought with Arsen after fighting with Pushkar. So he was just very tired, that's why he lost. Pushkar was also very tired after their fight and lost to Zolotoyev. So do not take seriously the defeat of Denis, when he was not tired, he easily defeated Arsen

As much as I want to see Devon win, I am more excited for Denis's comeback because I want someone to give Levan a tough fight and potential defeat him. Imagine if Denis returned to his previous form and faces Levan, that would be the battle of the Titans.
It's a shame that their timelines are not matching up for one reason or the other. When Levan rose to top, Denis got sick, and now Denis is returning, Levan has a career threatening injury.
Hope we get to see this match up someday...

I like Denis. He is strong as hell, doesn't show off or gloat or talk which is the reason why I respect him as an arm wrestler.
I truly "love" how youtubers and instagram pages owners abuse the video of Arsen winning Denis without mentioning Cyplenkov's semi-final match against Pushkar. This is the first youtuber (as far as I have seen), who mentioned the fact about Cyplenkov being already exhausted on the final table. Much respect for not being a bullshit content maker!
BUT! One more interesting fact about that match: as Cyplenkov faced Pushkar in semi-final, Arsen Liliev faced Khadzhimurat Zoloev and they had ... fixed match. Khadzhi let Arsen win him effortlessly, so they both could appear fresh at "final-boss fights". Still Denis pinned Arsen once, but Andrey haven't done much against Khadzhi in third place playoff and was pinned 3 times in a row.

I think Denis was paradoxically technical. By dragging the match into these non technical, akward positions, he was able to use his insane general strength to win

Arsen Liliev was never a superheavyweight he was a light heavyweight competing way over his weight with hulk arms. He must be in the very top p4p arm wrestlers ever.
I can’t think of anyone more dominant at his weight during his peak. He smashed everyone at his weight with ease and had many wins on some of the bigger guys, similar to Brzenk and Hutchings. But he crushed both of them as well.
