Leo's Wall Parry Tech Trap

  • I can't believe I never thought of using this. Did some experimenting and this is legit one of if not the only tech traps so far with Leo. If you use d+1 while the opponent is back turned, Leo can get guaranteed mids up to 14F. The walls ensure that it traps the opponent - making it a situation where no matter if you hold back to guard, the opponent will get hit. Mids/Lows starting at 15F/16F will not work so df+2 or Leo's db+2,4 and d+4 low will not work and the opponent will be able to block these. Nevertheless, the mids shown in this video are uninterruptable, some can track sideroll, some hit grounded and others guarantee huge rewards such as additional resets or damaging combos.
    Leo doesn't have any quick lows at 15F or less but you can use FC df+3 as a mixup if your opponent stays down or side rolls.
    For those who want to know how to combat this tech, the answer is simple: sideroll. It's not the best option in avoiding damage but it takes you away from the wall and let's be realistic: if standing block is a no-go, low attacks should be the least of your concerns since 14F mids beat that too.

    Wall carry from a reversal is fucking hilarious ngl

      The good thing for opponents is that Leo players have to angle it well or else there won't be a wall splat. I think the craziest one is definitely WS1+2. Lots of range, easy to angle for wall splat if opponent attempts to stand/crouch guard, can track side rolls unexpectedly, hits backward wakeup and counters all retaliation which leaves Leo at a million frames with the opponent's back to the wall.

    We know that Leo videos probably ain't getting a lot of views but. we leo players really really appreciate you doing this even with a good editing and unecessary lengthy video. Please keep it up for us! ❤

    Going all the way to other wall after a parry is diabolical

    You can also do F434 but it's frame perfect really really hard to do so i'll use these tech traps instead LOL thanks for the vid 👍

      f+4? It's 17F though. Did you make sure standing block was selected? At 15F the opponent's can block standing.

      @@prince.fatalis I gotta double check if I had it on but have a short video of me doing it. It's called Leo Wall Parry Combo (Tekken 8)

      @@RuTo94 Oh, you're talking about when you land the Parry and using f+4,3,4 as a tornado. Yes, it's too unreliable. It's possible to also step and do f+3+4 tornado given the right angle but I never go for it because it's possible that it just hits the opponent into the wall and doesn't tornado. I've tried these setups last night and have had great success online. I did the parry at a hard wall break against a jun and when she did a standing block, WS1+2 broke the wall. It screws up people, lol.

    Question, i always anticipate them rolling or get up attack, but whats the best option for opponents who just lay there ?

    • @prince.fatalis
      @prince.fatalis  Місяць тому +1

      Probably ws3 as the safe option. It tracks sideroll at times, hits grounded and beats all wakeup attacks, including backward wakeup. You can always go for damaging lows like the stomp or go into crouch from d+1,D into FC df+3 if the opponent has been conditioned to roll or stay still.

      They did but it could never work on the punch Parry reversal for this one. Only the reversal for kick. The nerf with parries is that it's similar to a power crush in that if your opponent grabs you during the animation, you can't break the throw.

      Heat Smash is 16F. Opponents can start standing block at 15F. It might work against wakeup backward but it's not guaranteed against standing block.

      @@prince.fatalis yes that's what i mean if wakeup backward heatsmash give fullcombo. And try to lab combo any start tornado db 1+2 ff 2 catch wakeup backward and give charge lightningglare, or db 1+2 bok 1+2 stomp for sideroll (some problems with side roll right).at the wall work good too. Like wallsplat heat burst f4 34 db 1+2 bok 1+2 heatdash give garant mix or extra damage especially good against yoshi.

    • @prince.fatalis
      @prince.fatalis  4 місяці тому

      @@qoqva7977 this video was meant for tech traps since they have an answer to almost all wakeup options including grounded or siderolling. Because 11-14f mids hit standing block from a d+1, it makes guessing a mixup pointless because if standing block loses, crouching block will also lose to those mids.
