Everyone can see Subaru was winner here but Toyota had paid for this video, even the track still feel not comfort on his weight, it should for normal weight people mate. Thanks for video anyway. :))
niem duong does not seem that way , toyota is the quietest, the auto works the best , It drives well and has capped price servicing and good fuel economy and a good array of safety features . Unless your a subie fan boy it's hard to see how the subie is better , Unless you live in the snow fields and need the extra traction. If you have driven a current or previous corolla you will see a lot of the dna i in this model too . Refined drive and quiet dynamics they known for.
This bloke doesn’t understand why the ASX is so popular? Because it can fit a pram in the back, looks good and is cheap $26k drive away with a 5 year warranty and Mitsubishi dealers are everywhere. Nobody gives a shit about driving dynamics when it’s all they can afford.
Looks good? very subjective I know, but compared to the CX-3, it stands no chance in the looks department. Mistu have been caught with there pants down for some years now. This, and the Lancer (10 years now) are terribly outdated and resale will be affected - when will the commentators start considering this as a whole of life cost?
Wow I'm surprised!! I tested the CX-3 CX-5, Nissan Qashqai 2018, the Toyota C-HR and the Subaru XV 2018, The CX 3 and the C-HR are way to small compared with the XV, The CX 5 Max equals in value to the top of the line XV with so many features that it will take me 10 minutes to describe compared with none on the Mazda, the Qashqai feels cheap inside compared with the XV and guess what the only one with AWD is.... The Subaru XV!!! So I'm wondering how did you come up with the C-HR being the "clear" winner??, anyway I do my own test drives and I'm now the proud owner of a 2018 XV 2.0iS!!!
Toyota CHR for the win. Subaru is unrefined. CHR love the cool looks, stylish interior, drives great and toyota reliability is the icing on the cake and can't be beat. Never going to have a issue with its engine or transmission. All it's missing AWD.
This man doesn’t know anything. He says there’s legroom in the back and there’s hardly a foot. Subaru obviously won and is the only one with AWD. Also, it’s safer than all of the other cars. And, was this video really paid for by Toyota? The Subaru is the most reliable out of all of them and did you see how much space that man took up
The C-Hr was designed and made in Turkey!!! Certainly a win for Turkiye, they keep impressing me with their innovation. Be it the new car designs or their autonomous drones, keep up the good work.
This is not a detailed review, just gives a biased glance of each car, making Toyota C-HR winner for some reason, which happens to be a new model all together, while others are upgrades on previous models. Clearly they intend to favour the newly launched one. Toyota might have paid for it trying to make its position among others :D In my personal opinion, they have made it ugly in order to make it look different. Looks wise you can either like it or hate it, there is nothing in between, you will certainly have some opinion after seeing it. My pick is XV, as it can do both city and off road as and when required. Good for people who can't afford one city and one off road vehicle separately. Suits the need of those as well who go off road once in a while. You might not need AWD all the time, but it plays it's role nicely when required. Obviously it is not meant to be a hard core off road. In car entertainment can be a deal breaker for some, as only XV comes with Apple Car Play or Android Auto. It has amazing ground clearance (but less fuel efficiency though) of 220mm. XV comes with the best in class TomTom SatNav. Loaded with features for the price (including the new Reverse Automatic Braking). Only major downside in XV I found was ridiculously low boot space of just 310 litres, even smaller than many hatch backs out there. Again, it comes down to personal choice and what use you are looking for and what appeals you most. We can't get every feature in this range cars/SUVs. Some will have great tech features, some will have decent power, some of them have classy interior, and some are more fuel efficient bla bla bla...all of the cars are being sold in the market and people are buying them, just need to pick the one that appeals you most...but worth researching and test driving a few options.
Toyota is a strong name japan carmaker but 2017-2018 exterior to interior is not as good as before like Rav4, Kluger, Corolla still minors changed. Subaru should win this case.
7 yrs later, the asx is still in oz. I wonder if its exactly the same? I also think reviewers assume we all drive great cars.... where as I'll be trading in a 12 yo vehicle... i reckon all of these will be nicer and quieter than my old beast.
i actually test drove all these cars: ASX a is very typical MMC car, very out dated mechanic and no attention to detail at all. feel like a car from 90's CX3 is very car alike compact suv, not a bad thing and fun to drive, but it vary small inside, so it kind of defect the propose to have a SUV and it not that suitable for male driver. CHR is cool, comfortable to drive, burn less fuel (i din't get it from the test drive, I just assuming it) but small inside, I have some vision problem when reverse drive and check the blind spot, this car is great for someone in their early 20's XV is great, it really stable to drive, the suspension absorb country road a lot better than any other cars, it also have big space inside, especially after you lay down 2 back sets. this video ignores off road drive at all, this is the xv's strength, nor mention the x-mode or hill mode on XV. Also i didn't had any problem of CVT either, the carbine noise is average, but manageable, in general is a quiet car. new XV doesn't cost that much to maintain either, 1 year/10K, standard stuff. XV basically tick every box of my selection criteria, i am not saying chr or cx3 are bad, but xv is certainly my pick.
Howard Zhang I see. Personally, I think botb C-HR and XV are my pick. C-HR is great for city and highway deiving, I can bear the bad visibility for the look alone. XV is where I live down town or somewhere else got some rough terrain or snow to deal with.
I've made up my mind, before this video, I've watched several videos of Subaru XV...and I love myself for the decision I made to own one this year. Not Mitsubishi, nor a Mazda CX-3 (good looking, fun to drive but space wise is bad), never drive a CHR with stunning design however I am far concern about the rear passengers' comfort and visibility on C-Pillar...yet, XV is the rugged and seems can drive all terrain...seen some minor modification of it, believe me...Subaru is the best like a car ready for Zombie Apocalypse...
sorry to be so off topic but does anybody know of a trick to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot the account password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
@Milo Hugo thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and im trying it out atm. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Our last model XV sometimes stalls when using stop start it's a bloody pain we have had since new and has been back to the dealer repeatedly with this issue. Our forester has ran like a dream with no issues in 3 years both are soon to be replaced with a liberty
i tend to use the push button on right side of dash to negate stop start. my cvt is fine, even if it takes a couple of secs to change from reverse to forward motion. Note my car is rhd- in Oz
You can't compare the Subaru with these vehicles, they are trumped up station wagons. The Subaru is a real crossover and has off road capabilities. The CH-R is really small.
I've gotten inside a CHR and that thing is so small from the inside. I feel that everything is closing in and the trunk space is very very small. The back doors on that car are very small and being a passenger in that car would suck. The XV is the exact opposite. So I'll get myself an XV :).
I wouldn't risk my cash on any car with a CVT or DSG transmission. These boxes are shit. They are notoriously problematic the world over. Give me a normal auto box anyday. Cx3 is where l would put my money. The rest will see you in for expensive mechanical repairs between 40 and 60k in all likelihood.
2018 I test drove all these cars on different surfaces the Toyota CH-R has great suspension looks nice but had no guts and visibility is insanely bad , you would have to buy the parking sensors etc, it struggled going up a steep hill, I test drove the Subaru just because it was the last car on the list , i went in thinking I’m not going to buy this, it out performed the Honda, Toyota and Mazda, I test drove the car with the iSight, for 2k more u get all the safety kit + adaptive cruise control , lane assist etc, only the Kona rivaled it in performance and safety features but the Kona felt like it had a cheap interior and just felt cheap in general, I bought the Subaru next model up from the base with iSight, the CTV works with the boxer engine because a boxer engine has smooth exceleration so it works with a CVT, where CTV’s fail is with conventional engines when the revs drop for a gear change, this does not occur in a boxer engine, down side of the Subaru XV boot space, and service price, upside, drive quality, adaptive cruise control, reliability, interior looks nice and is comfortable, and is the only 1 that you can take 4 wheel driving.

inside and out - and has less power. I think this is review that is Toyota biased (I know its an independant review). Sure Toyota is the quieter car, but I refused to accept it also drives and feels the best. Toyota are at best a vanilla car maker - they have been for many many years.
Subaru is the only one with the safety of AWD, plus you can actually see out of it. Oh yeah, Eyesight safety features are also available too but they picked the stripped model! And it doesn't look like a tree fell on it like the Toyota. Subaru wins!
One of the few good reviews that the cars actually get a work out on country roads and cover core items like driving refinement on road . Well done mate .
I honestly feel like this is a bad review. You should be more informed on the different options some vehicles have for example the x mode on subaru. My opinion the XV one that one by far
Sponsored by Toyota. Funny how your assessment of the Subaru is at odds with almost every other review I've seen. Specifically re. the noise, the smoothness of the CVT and you fail to mention many of it's good points. Maybe you are heavy footed driver and unable to drive a CVT properly in traffic? And the noise? Only you again. Others have merely said that it gets noisy when you accelerate hard. Hmm, show me a car that doesn't. (Unless it costs many many thousands more). And how can you have two cars in the test that are the biggest?
A guy your size will void the warranty of these little cars by overloading them. Show some will power and eat less. You will live longer. How old are you...30-35? Person abuse aside, Subaru hands down.
what an awful biased review clearly paid for by toyota.. the subie with its awd still managed decent mpg compared to the rest fwds. so whats a compact SUV without awd good for ?
So that means drive fcjed up. The Subaru is in a completely different class from these sub compact fwd cars. You should have had the Honda HRV and to make it interesting a MB GLA
they don't build junk, they build boring, ugly cars with no real charm and putting a turbo 1.2 ltr engine that has less power and economy than the CX3 with more (which is the same running gear since 2016) as a "new" model just cements them as a very boring, vanilla car maker.
Not a hater "bro" if I was I would not have defended the junk statement. I'm a big fan of the Supra 2JZ Era - awesome cars. However Camrys and Corollas just don't compare to the Mazda and Suburu offerings, in both style and fitment. Using CVT's doesn't help them in this regard either.
The Subaru is the only one which can go off road and actually get drive to the ground
Rationalist Society on one buys any of these cars to go off road. Let's be real here
Dude, a landcruiser it is not.
The XV is good, but my older RAV4 4wd (2004) is just as off-road capable as the Sub XV.

I wonder how long that lawn mover motor with turbo is going to last in Toyota .
good review. dont see toyota as winner though. also subaru is called XUV (minor nitpick) at 8:35
I think the toyota C-HR looks so ugly! design is also an important aspect when buying a car, I'd be happy with the newest Subaru XV
Subaru! Get the limited if its within your budget, you won't be disappointed.

is the CH-R just a re-badged Honda HRV?
don't insult the better car maker (Honda) LOL
i like thw chr on video and picture.....but when i saw one...i think its too small

Subaru wins hands down... how come with so many negatives comments on Chr yet still the safest? I don’t get it
It might be the best here the Toyota, but it sure is ugly.
inside and out - and has less power. I think this is review that is Toyota biased (I know its an independant review). Sure Toyota is the quieter car, but I refused to accept it also drives and feels the best. Toyota are at best a vanilla car maker - they have been for many many years.
I own a 17' XV I don't know wtf he's babbling about.
Subaru is the only one with the safety of AWD, plus you can actually see out of it. Oh yeah, Eyesight safety features are also available too but they picked the stripped model! And it doesn't look like a tree fell on it like the Toyota. Subaru wins!
Xv is just the most appealing and useful. All the others might as well be minivans
where is honda HRV?
Dear lord, that rumble through your microphone is atrocious. It made the video unwatchable - especially for the Toyota CHR segment.
toyota's visibility is horrendous...and that makes it really unsafe.
Stop joking ! 7 liters gasoline / 100 KM with this car ?
I NEVER reached less than 8,5 liters with my one !
One of the few good reviews that the cars actually get a work out on country roads and cover core items like driving refinement on road .
Well done mate .
The cx 3 is the perfect size for a teen!
Or a newborn
I honestly feel like this is a bad review. You should be more informed on the different options some vehicles have for example the x mode on subaru. My opinion the XV one that one by far
Dave Samaha the XV is in a different class from these 🚗. They should have had the Honda HRV as a comp.

Yoyota has a beautifully designed dashboard???Common it is ugly as hell
Only lesson I learned from this clip is that you gotta lose weight first.
Subaru xv the best
j'aurrais voulu un classement
A guy your size will void the warranty of these little cars by overloading them. Show some will power and eat less. You will live longer. How old are you...30-35? Person abuse aside, Subaru hands down.
I choose Subaru definitely
C-HR is best here.
Subaru hands down bubb!
Jorge S. t
The Toyota is the most impractical
The Subaru Crosstrek is the clear overall better vehicle! 👍
Still subaru for me sorry mate
All of these cars drive better without so much weight behind the wheel.
Subaru should copy chr design with dimension of rav 4
what an awful biased review clearly paid for by toyota.. the subie with its awd still managed decent mpg compared to the rest fwds. so whats a compact SUV without awd good for ?
Drive is editorially independent Abdalla so we don't get paid by any of the car companies.
So that means drive fcjed up. The Subaru is in a completely different class from these sub compact fwd cars. You should have had the Honda HRV and to make it interesting a MB GLA
CH-R is the best easily
Danny Amarsena the XV is better than the CH-R any day
I agree CH-R easily. Love the looks
Mitsubishi ASX
You can get a used BMW 335i M sport for the same price as these piles of shit on wheels.
And the winner is the 'ugly'!
Mazda is better
subaru yeah
Chr is just toyotas attempt to copy juke
Of course since the Joke is a goner
Tuck Foyota!!!!
Exactly.

Take the Subaru
Wrong
Toyota chr

Toyota builds junk.
they don't build junk, they build boring, ugly cars with no real charm and putting a turbo 1.2 ltr engine that has less
power and economy than the CX3 with more (which is the same running gear since 2016) as a "new" model just cements them as a very boring, vanilla car maker.
Marc Stolk you sound like a Toyota hater. Get help bro
