- Ryan Wishner is later joined by Vincent Matthew Johnson on the left piano while Tom Brier plays the right piano in this rousing after-hours rendition of the 1912 hit song "Waiting For the Robert E. Lee" -- music by Lewis F. Muir. This was at a late-night party during the weekend of the 2015 Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival.
The music is in the public domain. Many sheet music archives have the score available for download, including the Library of Congress here: www.loc.gov/it...
It's hard to go a single day without thinking about Tom and his playing. Ron, thanks for the upload and have a wonderful Christmas.

Tom was the only reason I changed in skill the past few years, he inspired me and everyone who knew him. He is not the type that makes you quit piano, he keeps you playing! =)

@@tijuanaiguana190 Tom is the gentleman playing the grand piano, on the right of the video. He's a legend, one of the all-time great ragtime pianists. Not long after this video was recorded, Tom was in in a terrible automobile accident, where a pickup truck rear-ended Tom's car, basically annihilating it. Tom was lucky to survive, but he was left with brain damage, was in a coma for a while, then was in a wheel chair. The last I heard he's still not able to play. It's a terrible loss for Tom, and us.

I’ve just discovered this man and this channel…..it’s truly heartbreaking to hear what happened and how it’s affected him. Some of us don’t realize how good we have it till that thing is taken away from us…hope this man recovers soon and fast if it’s possible and G-d bless him…he truly has a talent like no other

Any idea how more of these unseen videos of Tom you have floating around? Do you just come across them sometimes or are you rationing them out or? It's always nice to see something new of him of course.
I have various videos on various hard drives or CD archives. When I feel like I have the time to post a video, I choose an event and look through what I haven't posted. There's little rhyme or reason to the process.

@Keeper1st I believe everyone here would appreciate to get informed for Tom's health and situation. If it is possible, I would appreciate if you could update the Tom Brier's Discord with his news because if I am correct the latest update was when he was vaccinated (4 months ago or something). No pressure at all, I commented though just because I learned from here that Tom will never heal.
If I knew anything recent, I'd mention it there, for sure.
Any update on Tom recently? Any improvement? I’ve been following this channel since I heard about the accident years ago but I don’t know where else to go to stay updated or help out
Not that I'm aware of. Anthony Sarginson will be visiting Tom this weekend, so if there's any improvement he notices, we might learn from him. I wouldn't expect there to be any further improvement though, unfortunately.

Hey, Keeper. I was wondering: what did Tom think of the Nintendo music over the years? Did he like it?
Based on his laughter and how long of an extended ending he'd make up, you can tell how much he enjoyed each tune. He adored K.K. Ragtime, playing it from memory at a moment's notice, and even in concert, as well as the Yoshi's Island Athletic Theme which the Raspberry Jam Band added to their repertoire.
