- In July of 1936, months after meeting 22-year-old dancer Caitlin Macnamara, Welsh poet Dylan Thomas wrote her the love letter you will now hear. They married the next year, and so began a tempestuous relationship that was fuelled by excesses of all kinds.
Taron Egerton joined us to give a brilliant reading of this letter at Wilderness Festival 2023 in the Oxfordshire countryside, UK.

Oh, to be loved and in love such as this...if you were on the receiving end of this love letter, would you not blush, laugh and positively swoon.
There's nothing better than to be truly and deeply loved.
People should bring back letter writing to each other ❤
Mina,
to help fulfill your love of letter writing-
read the next comment in line,
the one under yours,
read it as if it WERE a love letter!
It's written as if it could be one.
Just put all the pauses in the right places.
Use an English accent too,
those always sound better!
Even the writers name is worthy of letter writing -

What a great imagination!
Duly noted 😊@@gardengatesopen
My core group of friends and I send each other postcards wherever we go.

That's nice!
I like that idea!
It's been a long time since I found a post card in my mailbox.
As memory serves,
postcards are very fun to receive!
Taron's narrative enthusiasm is so beautiful to watch 😍👏🏼 So well read, too 🤌🏼
"I shall shoot myself or go to the pictures."
This is one of my favourite channels on YT. Every letter I've heard has inspired me, entertained me, broken my heart, made me laugh, or made me wish I was in love.
'Cut my throat' the letter said
Happy Valentine’s Day Taron ❤❤💪💪❤️❤️
If only we could all love one another this intensely every moment (including those two) ❤
He is very expressive. I love him 💘
Love is the craziest wonderful journey of all!
Lovely love letter. All the messy anguish and longing.
❤❤❤ I could listen to taron all night and day
How adorably sweet. Beautiful and vibrant. He delivers it with a romantic and youthful spirit. It’s easy to know that spirit was there from the words alone. I love a letter that doesn’t really leave any mystery or interpretation about feelings, especially when those feelings are as heartwarming as that.
"Nice noises on the piano without any music". Goodness.😏
I love Taron ❤❤
Thank you Dylan, Taron
Aaaaaaahhhhh this just made me more lovesick!!!

Bloody hell, love - get a hobby!

I thought this was so beautiful. I looked up the author and discovered he actually cheated on her several times during their marriage. No matter the age, no matter how often and loudly they profess their love; men of all ages, from all ages, will still cheat.
Da iawn Taron. Only a Cymro can read Dylan properly. Tidy job
