I Found Axolotls in a Sewer!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 лис 2023
- In today’s video, I find axolotls living in a sewer and my goal is to catch as many as possible! First, I send a GoPro into the sewer to see if I can get any footage of whatever is down there! I ended up finding clown knife fish, pike cichlids, axolotls, and TONS of mysterious fish… And now that we know what’s down there, I started netting to try and catch them out! I caught Oscar’s, catfish, colorful crawfish, knife fish, and MORE! And after awhile I finally caught my first axolotl in the sewer! But we know there’s more in there so we kept going… We caught more rare fish including a monster jaguar cichlid and more alien fish! After more netting we managed to catch 1 more axolotl before the sewers became too murky to keep going… So we decided to place 2 fish traps and leave them there overnight! We brought back all the fish we caught so far to my backyard ponds and fish tanks and came back later that night! When we checked our fish traps we found TONS of fish inside including, pufferfish, more axolotls, bichirs, catfish, AND MORE! In total we caught 6 axolotls which I put in my backyard pond! Should we go back and do a part 2 at this sewer?

I ❤ that you do this‼️‼️‼️
6:30 is a tropheus moori I think
The mystery puffer looks like a Humphead
Silver catfish is a spotted pim "maculatus"
The last one is a marbled Headstander
@@CLAS1K1 id say you’re correct on 3 out of 4 of those, thanks! Tropheus moorii is a blunthead cichlid, so that is correct already. Don’t think the catfish is a pictus because the whiskers don’t seem to be as long, but I didn’t really get a good look at the guy either so it very well could be.

Yes, I would appreciate if you do a part two of this video!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Definitely need a part2
Yup
Axolotls are technically a species of mole salamanders closely related to Tiger salamanders. They are in the same genus, but axolotls live in a larval state their entire lives. It's why they are able to regrow their limbs.
Its either:
1. Some dingus yeeted their pet axolotl into some water, then it found its way into a sewer
2. It is not an axolotl, but something similar
Almost definitely the latter; axolotls are critically endangered, and their wild population is limited to an underwater cave system in Mexico. They’re very sensitive and require cold, clean water to survive for very long; unless it had been thrown out very recently, a pet one wouldn’t have survived in the conditions of the sewer. It’s way more likely to be a larval salamander, which would make sense to find in the area and are far more common and hardy by comparison.
Definitely NOT axolotl. He always says they are but they are never axolotls.
Why were the axolotls so cute 😭😭😭 btw yes I liked my own comment

Tiger Salamander larvae are often used as fishing bait and are more commonly known as Western Waterdogs which are sold in bait shops🎣🦎 Although they're very similar in many ways, Waterdogs are different from Axolotls and Mudpuppies because they go through metamorphosis.
cool✅
In nebraska mud puppies morph into salamanders, also aquarium axolotl were crossed with salamanders
Nice work once again Bobby. Here's the names for some of the fish you had trouble identifying.
Netting:
- The mystery knife fish you caught is an Elephant-Nose Knife Fish.
- The suspected flounder is a Freshwater Flounder
- The eel-like fish that stuck to the sewer wall is a type of Loach, there are multiple different kinds.
Traps:
- Questionable puffer/flounder is a Freshwater Puffer Fish.

“I like your videos, I watch them everyday.” My daughter loves your videos so much! We talk about you and your videos all the time. Thank you for being so kind in your videos! ❤❤
He is not kind at all, you can’t find axolotls in a sewer especially leucistic axolotl in are sewer they aren’t even in the wild! Only breed within captivity! This man has put captive bred axolotl and whatever else in disgusting polluted water! I’ve scrolled through so many comments seeing not one educated person in this comment section all commenting how cute axolotls are etc and not how they got in the sewer which should be the main concern of the video it’s quite literally impossible for axolotl to found in the wild as the axolotl is native to the freshwater of Lake Xochimilco and Lake Chalco in the Valley of Mexico and can only be found there and becoming critically endangered! It honestly disgusts me what some people do for views and money
How many fish did you research on my god you know so many I haven't seen before 🤣🤣🤣🤣😭🤣
Every day I wake up and watch you and axolotl‘s are my favorite animal and in the entire universe! Love you bass fishing productions❤
I liked his comment
I heard somewhere axolotls are nearly endangered in Mexico.People literally eat them in tacos. It's been ages, unsure if it's true or not.Mexicans can make anything taste great,so maybe it's true.
Axolotls live in Mexico..
@@kevincarlson668 Axolotls aren't nearly endangered, they are already critically endangered. Less than one thousand individuals are estimated to remain in the wild, and they live exclusively in Lake Xochimilco in Mexico. From what I hear, axolotls are hurting mostly from pollution of habitats, habitat loss and destruction, and climate change. I am unsure about people eating axolotls but it is not outside of the realm of possibility. Pollution and habitat loss is more likely the answer as they are very sensitive and delicate creatures.

The first one looks something like an elephant nose/eel-don’t know. The other are freshwater flounders(they love good cover in the fish tank/pond. Sending the go-pro down to investigate was a great idea! You need to do that in other sewers(without alligators!). You can sew those nets with fishing line, I’ve done that and it works good! Another fantastic video Bobby and Helen! AMAZING CATCHES! You need to go back and do this sewer again! Kudos
its a Elephant Nose Knife not a Elephant nose eel :)
I think the first one is bluegill
Elephant fish
Bobby, you should keep a small repair kit for your nets and traps. Maybe a sewing kit to stitch up the nets and zip ties for the traps.
You are so cool
I love your videos the flounders are so STINKIN CUTE

The fish that was sticking to the wall is called a plecco. I was obsessed with them for a year or two i had like 20 at a time. They're filter feeders, completely harmless and typically very calm when handled. They can breathe air but only for a minute or so, plus it's really difficult to kill them by accident, making them great fish to own for newbies or people with kids and/or pets.
The crabs 🦀 should have an area to come out the water. If possible drop the water level a little and have some land, rocks, or wood just out of the water so they can climb out. Also they like to escape so a lid on the tank is a must! If they can climb and get out they will! Awesome catches and like the GoPro idea!
it need a lot of lands area and need to breath air
Yes they need a paludarium set up…like I said they need to get out of the water. I owned one of these before..had a 20 long set up where the right side had a good area for him to come out of the water and the left had an area for him to be in the water..he was in the water most of the time.

I hope the gopro makes a return! It's so cool to see the fish chilling in their natural habitat like a little scuba diver! Plus it's like a little sneak peek of what's to come.
I enjoyed the video. Having caught those large Oscars and Leopard reminded me we have not had a tour of the ponds lately. I like visiting them all from time to time. Say hi to the lovely Helen for us.
Hi I'm your biggest fan and I say you should go back to the same sewer and find more awesome fish. Love your videos and hope you find more awesome huge weird fish.😎😎😁😁✌✌👍💗💗
That first axolotl was so cute 🩷🩷
I’ve been more inspired to fish now, so I started fishing with my brothers and my dad in San Francisco and it was really fun! All I did was catch a surfer perch and a mackerel.

And the hat promo was brilliant too
im a owner of 24 axolotls 22 are babies and two are adults and seeing the axolotls in the sewer is making me cry i cant believe thay were in there
Tiger Salamanders, not Axolotls. they are related but not the same. Those Tiger Salamanders will lose the gills when they hit adulthood.
The thing is,in all these sewer videos he plants the aquarium fish and animals. There is no way so many fish species can live in a single sewer and still look reasonably healthy. This youtuber should be banned for exposing fish to conditions like that. Also, you might know this but salamanders like this breathe through their skin so there is literally no chance they could survive in there permanently.

😅 I love your videos😊❤
Hi am new fan of fishes❤❤
Axolotl’s are actually Mexican salamander babies, but because they have no predators where they are found, the never have to leave the water. That’s why they’re so cute, they’re babies!
😂
Actually you are wrong, an axolotl is the only salamander that maintains it looks with out going into metamorphosis in their adult years.
The only way they will metamorphosed is if the axolotl stays for to long outside the water.
He didn’t catch an axolotl, he got a baby tiger salamander that will go into metamorphosis when it matured.
Well there technically their there own speeches
@@Top_of_the_hats 🤓
@@agaspiderman921 thank you. no one else in the comments of BFP vids ever mentions that the things Bobby catches that he calls "axolotls" are different salamanders, not all baby/larval salamanders are axolotls. i think it's sort of a meme that he calls them axolotls and no one corrects him.
