Four years later, this battle still holds up. Also, there's some interesting shit to look back on when watching this now.
-Real Deal reacting to A. Ward talking through his round by finding ways to twist it into crowd reactions. Ward clearly learned from this, because nowadays he does the same thing, and he also doesn't talk during opponents' rounds as often as he did here.
-Ward's freestyle rebuttals weren't as polished around this time, but they have shades of the kind of brilliant shit he became known for later.
-Real Deal still has the bar everyone remembers most. ("Holy-watered it down.")
-This was A. Ward's eighth battle, and he managed to hang with a vet who hadn't (and still hasn't) lost his step yet. Think about that.
