My brother lost home to a tornado many years ago. I feel fortunate I didn't lose him or any family in it.
Moore?
As a fellow Midwesterner, the first thing we do under a tornado warning is go out on the porch and look. 😛
Yes! Kansas here! Tornado sirens means it's time to go outside!
I like to go outside and take videos !!!
Yes I do the same
Aren't ya supposed to tie yourself to the tongue on the house?
Kentucky
Nave, you don't want to see a tornado close! I've had three close calls with them and it's not fun!
Trust me when i say this… Farmers don’t like tornadoes 🌪 or hail.. great video keep up the great work👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸God bless and stay safe
So I’ve learned! 😅Thank you and God bless you as well! 😇
Never want to see one anywhere near where you live. At the farm, it could take out everything on the property. Have nothing left.
Cole as a storm spotter for the NWS myself, I'm thoroughly impressed by how much you've educated yourself! Bravo! Only 2 things I've noticed, 1) those clouds that are bouncing is called skud. Those can organize into a wall cloud. 2) the long rope look cloud that spans the storm is the shelf cloud but yes that's the wind moving in. Other than those 2, GREAT JOB!!! Glad you guys are safe!
."
Torando watches and warnings can be scary. Last years storms hit Cornstar farm really bad. You came back and going to be better then ever. NAVE you don't ever want to be in or see a Tornado. Be safe. God Blessing the Cornstar Family. Must keep that farmhouse and beautiful yard beautiful for the country farm wedding. Life is Good.
Been through several Tornado watches and warnings since I moved to Texas. It's not something I think I can really get used to. If we had a storm shelter, they wouldn't be as bad, but right now we are renting a 2 story house made out of toothpicks. There is literally nowhere safe in this neighborhood if a tornado hits.
@@MAGAMAN When I lived in Oklahoma I didn't have a basement when a tornado hit. Lucky for me it was an E1 lost two huge trees and power, but I lived through it. Never want to go through another tornado, and left Oklahoma 😏
Nave, the cold wind you felt is called Gust Front. I was impressed with Cole's technical knowledge, But being a farmer and living in the countryside it must be part of your toolset. Kudos to Justin. That was above and beyond. Stay safe, and ask Cole above lighting.
Cole, You need to have a sit down with your girl. I lived in Oklahoma for years. This is nothing to play with. Tornados can change direction in a matter of seconds. She wants to see one. Tell her to look online and see the death and damage a storm can cause. It's no joke.
It is one of the weirdest things to experience, the dead calm stay safe!
It really was! Everything was so still!
We had a tornado three weeks ago in our little town , there was a lot of damage to the village, but no one was hurt either during the storm or after during the clean up. A week later we had flooding from a storm that flooded a few homes pluse wiped out bridge.
We have had a great, great, great, out pouring of help from around the area!!! Stay safe,I enjoy yours and Cole's videos!
Nave, take it from someone who had the shingles taken off her roof in the Millard Tornado a few years back, it's not exciting, those things can kill you, even if you're an expert.
Nave, tornados are very dangerous, you don't chase them for fun. I experienced one and I'm still not right, still not right, still not right, still not LOL. Yes they really are VERY frightening to be caught in.
WOW! Prayers!
Blessing that everything is intact and the groups are good. 🙏😌
My mom hates storms. High winds, rain, and I lord help her if she ever seen a tornado in person. What I always found ironic is that her mom's maiden name is Storms.
The most dangerous stuff is lawn furniture, iron lawn furniture, which no one brings inside, until it ends up inside.
Nava, don’t have a dumb moment, I live through an F5 tornado in 1974. It was so powerful that it sucked basements out of the ground.
Holy shyte!!
Loved the pictures of the clouds and the storm great video
I'm right there with ya, Nave! Storms are so much better out in the country. I love sitting and watching the storms roll in, with the lightning, the thunder, etc. As long as it does NO damage! 🙂 So incredible to see the power that mother nature holds.
We had 14 tornados in wisconsin last week. 1 hit me as it crossed 94. It missed my house, but every house west and south of me had damage, and it went right through my little town
Love watching you two together.
We love documenting our time together! Thanks for watching! 😇
This comment is directed at Cole. I think you are amazingly intelligent. I loved the way you described how hail is formed. It was nerdy but fun.
Stay safe.
Hi Nave and Cole. Thank you for always helping me through a rough day.
Well done Cole... Weather has been a hobby for 50 years and your explanation is excellent.
Nave the Lord says don't tempt the Lord your God. He gives you wisdom to stay safe. GOD BLESS keep safe. Well done Cole teach her lovie.
Coles always teaching me something! Couldn’t be more grateful!
You two are so wonderful to watch
Thank you!
I've been in three tornadoes and that's three too many. Thank God where I was didn't take direct hits. One roared past my parents house. It took off part of the chimney and the hail trashed the siding. It was less than a football field away. The brick church across the street took a direct hit. There was nothing left except the cement pad. No sign of any part of the building, it was just gone. This twister went right through the heart of the city, three people died. My older sister, a nurse, was in the downtown ICU. It's built like a lighthouse. Giant glass structure, even the inner walls were glass so the critical patients could be easily monitored. It was perched atop the eight story hospital. She had a clear view of the funnel snaking towards the building. Fortunately it went down the other side of the main street. No one who lived here then will ever forget it. It was decades ago but every memory is etched in our minds forever. My son lives in Oklahoma city, tornado alley. I watch his weather and do a lot of praying. God bless you all and keep you safe.
Glad you all are ok !!!! Great video
After last years storm I would count your blessings.🙏
Lived through a tornado on the edge of our city over 30 years ago, and we're not really tornado country so it was bad, people died, and a lot of folks in the area have a touch of ptsd when it gets stormy and take precautions. It's exciting to watch but from a healthy safe distance, don't take chances, be safe. Those were really good images of the way storms are, so kudos for that. Xxx
You need a generator at your house for when the power goes out.
I loved to sit on my grandmother's basement steps and watch the thunderstorm out the window make the creek rush like crazy.
Glad all are OK! I've not met any tornadoes up close- three hurricanes were enough wind for me! Live 300 miles from hurricanes and 150 from Tornado Alley! Be safe! Big harvest, Cole!
Usually in the spring local HAM radio clubs will put on storm spotter classes, they are generally free community education classes that teach the public what to watch for in storms, and can help provide a better understanding of sever weather, and where tornados are likely to form in weather and what to look for.
Neve - I was IN a bad tornado in Topeka, KS right after I graduated 1966 and believe me - they cut through brick buildings like a hot knife through butter. DO NOT play around - if you have a basement GO TO IT.
You're true country when you put stuff away quick then stand and watch the weather outside. LOL It's like a family tradition w my family. 😂
I used to live in Tornado Alley. One hot muggy night a twister came down on us. Debris was flying everywhere. I saw a surfboard coming toward me so I jumped on it. Got to ride that twister for what seemed like hours. Went high up into the funnel where I saw cattle, a staircase, and neighbors unmet. I finally pointed the surfboard downward toward the ground and exited the tornado.
Had to walk 50 miles to get back home. Left the surfboard for another Nadosurfter. True story.
You two have great chemistry!
Glad y'all are safe 🌴🍊🐊😊
Y’all r such a great couple keep up the good work.
We appreciate that! Thank you! ☺️
I love that I saw that sweet little Anna at the very end!!! ❤️❤️❤️😍
Maybe you should make Nave watch some actual footage of tornado storm damage so she could see what it actually does to houses and cars and the people that don't seek shelter when they should.
We don't want to see any of you guys get hurt.
I think Reed Timmer is still chasing storms and has a web site? UA-cam? FR
@@fredericrike5974 yeah reed timmer has a UA-cam it’s reed timmer and he uploads frequently
@@Steelcurtain3 TY, TYVM, FR
When my sisters and I were kids, we luved in St.Charles Missouri so I'm familiar with tornadoes and blizzards. For kids it was exciting because we went into the basement. Mom and Dad secured what the could and then join us.
You’re completely right. As a kid I always found it thrilling. I thought this day would be the day I finally got to see one in person. Not cool when they make a mess of things but I wouldn’t mind seeing one in the distance away from people.
@@NavexCole that's what youtube is for
@Nave, I grew up in the Davenport/Buffalo area. We would stand out in the yard watching the funnel cloud come at us then change direction South away from us. It makes your heart race watching it hit the ground!
the same thing happened to me back in 2003 I think had a wall cloud coming straight for my house and as soon as it got over my neighbors house it shot straight north and just about leveled a town 5 minutes from my house and this was in Missouri just outside of Springfield
Awesome video. Reminds me of home Thanks for the laughs and positivity, love it! .
Hneiva, you stay safe! Tornadoes are no joke.
I LOVE watching a storm roll in from my porch
Scary!! Glad all’s well.
Nave I love watching storm clouds also. It's God's art and it's beautiful. But remember safety first.
Vamanos Sis, you're brave. Enjoyed the collab with Cole's info on tornados. I live in Denver where tornados are not so much. But, when there are, I'm in the basement. Stay safe!! 🤍
Cole is right about not being able to see the tornadoes, in a lot of cases. We live in NE Alabama and for several years, we got pummeled every time a strong system came through. Between Feb. 6, 2008 and Nov. 30, 2019, we had EIGHT tornadoes to touchdown inside of our tiny little school district. I haven’t spoken to anyone that actually SAW one, because they were “rain wrapped.” Stay safe up there!
Love watching storms. Grew up in Indiana, lived a decade or so in Texas, but now in boring weather Pacific Northwest (Seattle area)
I seen a ef4 tornado it’s not as cool as you want it to be especially when you find out people lost everything they have and worse stay safe and god bless
Lightning can strike miles away from where the storm is so stay inside during weather
That is really unfortunate when weather causes chaos to that magnitude. Hmmm, that’s an interesting fun fact. I didn’t know that.
@@NavexCole If you can hear thunder you are close enough to be hit by lightning. Fun fact from the lightning capital of North America - Florida.
Really love seeing you and Cole in your natural habitat, lol..my husband and I used to go sit and watch the storms roll in when we were dating. I grew up terrified of thunder and lightening it literally would paralyz me in my bed I couldn’t even cry out to my parents, it was truly a horrible experience. When I told my then boyfriend about my fear he explained how storms are created and I began to see them differently. Of course they can be extremely dangerous and we must always put caution and safety ahead of any interest to see too much of a storm when we should be taking shelter, but sitting and watching storms that were further off in the distance with my now husband, was something we both really loved to do.
Now we have one little boy who is almost 10, we’ve made every effort to help him understand how these storms are created and that he doesn’t have to be afraid. I love watching him run to the window and push the blinds up so he can see the storm and count 🐘 elephants between the clap of the thunder and the lightening. We use the word elephant to help count off the seconds, so if you count 15 elephant 🐘 between the thunder and the lightening you know that the storm is 3 miles out ( take the # of seconds and devised by 5) .
Praying there wasn’t any major damage to th crops ...also, maybe time to look into gettting a generator for the house for those times when the power goes out, we just bought one, I a man looking forward to getting it hooked up as we loose power about once a week.
Please be safe . 🙏🏻
How to be a lightning rod, step 1 stand in the front yard in the wide open while a storm is rolling in.
always so much fun 👏👏👏
Nave tornados are so deadly you don't want to chase one. They cause so much destruction and pain. I lived in Kansas for 5 yrs and when a tornado alert came on the tv (before cell phones) we would watch small funnel clouds come down and go back up into the clouds. We also stayed close to safe shelter.
Love not a good example for young people watching your video love. I am 73yrs young and love you guys stay safe pray Psalm 91 for everyone love.
You’re right! This girl won’t be going storm chasing any time soon! Good learning experience! ☺️
Yup thats what we Iowans do. I sat on the porch and watched this last one go over.
Got a love this summer never know when the storms going to come✌️🤘🥂🍻
Hope all is well after the ⛈
Yup, pay attention to the weather!
love the tornado siren...miss living in Iowa - wish I never moved back to Australia - IOWA = BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE - ahh the memories - Ragbrai to mention a few
I was the first thumbs up. Glad you all are safe!!! I love storms too Nava!!!!
They can be pretty relaxing! Thanks for the thumbs up and thanks for watching! 😇
Fun, cute couple!
You two are so cute together!! I'm Aussie and hate storms/wind as when I was 8 we had a huge Eucalyptus tree fall on our house, while we were home, during a storm. Hope the crops survived okay and there's no more storms, especially after Aug '20!!
Hi how are you doing?
Before you go storm chasing take the safety class first. And yes it's so much fun chasing as long as your safe
Hi how are you doing?
That's a really great point- you probably cant see a tornado well, or even at all when next to it. Also, that fart had me laughing!
That was fun to watch.
Beautiful countryside. Just like home. I enjoy thunderstorms too.
I’m in the Midwest yeah we’re curious and wonder outside during immense weather pattern down South they pull out the barbecue.
Typically the wind direction is from the South West ahead of a cold front. This is due to the counter clockwise rotation of rising warmer air. Nice job with the rest of the meteorological details, Cole!
I Love storms, always have an emergency kit ready in the basement. Tons of batteries. Snacks. Something to cook on. Books to read. A Radio, first aid kits. A waterproof sleeping bags. Waterproof clothing. Dont forget pet food for your animals. Be safe.
Good video Nave!
🌪️ not cool!😳God bless and stay safe!
Great show today but a little bit scary.
Is one of your projects going to be to set up the basement to be a safe and comfortable storm shelter which would also be connected to a backup generator so you will have power when the power goes out from bad weather ?
Especially, with your nieces, future munchkins, and puppies.
@@caper2x and kitties!
THIS IS MY DREAM LIFE I LOVE STORMS SO MUCH BUT I LIVE IN THE UK SO THE WEATHER IS NOT VARIED AT ALL
Nave,
Take a spotter course. I took one and it is really informative. I spotted for a few years in Southwest Ohio. I may go back to get recertified as a spotter. Would not chase at all here in North Ga.
Y'all be safe!
Iam 12 and I love science tornado formula and avation love ya vids
My Brother in Indiana had his house destroyed by a Tornado it was so bad the town was on the Weather Channel for a few days showing the damage , never saw it coming only heard it and was after the heavy rains he said .Thankfully God was watching over them and family survived however there was one family killed, be careful there nothing to take likely but you guys are smart and know to head to basement.
Good Family
1:14 You & I Both Dude 🙌🤙
just remember you have a mouth full of metal when your out in that lightning
LOL, LOL
We got a Tornado Warning in my town...which tornados never happen in the Ohio Valley...so My husband and I both went to the gym...I mentioned it was so calm outside on our way to the gym and then a tornado hit down the road from where we live.
We here in Oklahoma Go to the front porch and watch for “Naders”…. Nader watching is fun for the whole family!!!
We had actual tornados touching down where I live. The warning sirens went off, but we were already in bed and they blow them so often we've been taught to ignore them. Then one of our cats started crying, but he's a scaredy cat and I was sure he was reacting to the thunder. Next time I'll take him seriously.
Sullivan, wi here. Same thing happened here with our cats a few weeks ago!! Never thought, ever, I'd get hit with a tornado and rural the volunteer fire departments calls in with the tornado siren. The sirens went off at 1am. It's was a little shower, calm. And the cats started screaming like I've never heard before!!! In less than a minute the tornado hit, a F1. The neighborhood was leveled....but the cats knew before it hit!!!
@@CarriUSA Did you and the cats come through it okay? I truly hope so. All my house had was a few branches down.
I have only ever gotten tornado warnings, so I wish I could see one in person, but- ima just sit here, and pray I won’t so 😛
I remember being in the UNI cafeteria and seeing a tornado go over the top of the building but not touching down.
Very good video Nave
Thank you! ☺️
All those dark clouds in the sky looked so scary!!! Yikes ⛈
I live in Puyallup WA. We call them cyclone winds.
If your ears didn’t pop, it wasn’t “that” close. Ask me how I know? Survived a tornado in the Nashville area last year. The first thing I would do if I still lived in a tornado prone area, is build an actual storm shelter.
I feel honored talking to you! So glad you are okay! A storm shelter isn’t a bad idea!
@@NavexCole your basement is already a great storm shelter! All the spiders can’t be wrong. Just shelter in the southwest corner.
I’ve lived thru many tornados. A basement is safe and Cole has a basement in his house.
@@joevano the S.W corner thing has been debunked for years... best place is below ground underneath reinforced shelter.
Remember when Parkersburg got hit a few years back? A person was killed IN THE BASEMENT when a pickup landed on them!!!
Tornadoes are nothing to joke about, they can develop very quickly!
I love a good storm during the summer time . Since I live right on the beach (Myrtle Beach South Carolina) the majority of the storms take place over the ocean and they move inland . I've seen some really bad ones including 4 named Hurricanes .
My lover is crazy too storm came through our neighborhood pulled trees out of the ground and she was exited i was terrified
This was great!
Stay safe! Thank you for the videos. You Are a cute couple
Very interesting video thanks for your time to do the video keep up the great work you do on your videos
Thank you Cole for talking some sense into her RE: storm chasing. Quick way to have a very bad day...
