Recipe:
Hook: Standard dry-fly hook (here a Lightning Strike DF1), size 16.
Thread: Brown Veevus 16/0
Tails: Dun hackle fibers.
Post: Dark dun calf-body hair, cleaned and stacked.
Body: Stripped peacock quill.
Hackle: Dun hackle.
Thorax: Natural beaver dubbing.

Can you use quills that have already been stripped from the package? What I mean is can I buy already stripped quills.
what happened to the UV resin tying off the parachute hackle?
Or is a regular whip finish still more durable?
What I've been doing, is applying uv resin on the post before I wrap the hackle, then I whip finish and set the resin with the light.
What's the advantage of using calf body hair for this pattern rather than poly yarn, which is probably easier to work with?
