How to replace fog light bulbs - '16 Tiguan

- How to replace your fog light bulbs in your vw tiguan (2016). Easy way to replace your halogen bulbs or to upgrade to LED bulbs like this video. Bulbs used are 9006. Always remove your bulb to verify type needed prior to buying. LED bulbs used in this install are rated at 6500K.

Thanks, where to remove the bolts was all I needed to know, the rest is just changing a bulb with one hand you can't see :)
Got it first time, and the other side, I just reached down through the engine bay, you can see and reach the plug and back of the fog lamp bulb underneath the headlight assembly.
The ones I installed are yellow (4000k) 9006 LED bulbs I found on EBay. They look great and work better than the old halogen ones I took out.
Yep gotta do it without being able to look. I've done a few so im used to it now haha.
I did notice the passenger side was accesible through the engine bay after so now I know.
How are you liking the yellow lights?
You can pull the trim in the front as well. Much easier….
I have same tiguan but my car doesn’t have fog lights can u help how to install fog light?
Does your bumper have the pre-made openings for the fog light housing?
Could you post the link to the led low beam headlights you installed?
Sorry for the late reply, actually the low beams are oem HID. only the fogs (halogen) I replaced with LED. I will be upgrading the oem HID with 5500K later this year.
@@esqu3l3to what’s your opinion on HID? Have they worked well for you?
Yes they have. Keep in mind, if you go with HID it's better if you have projectors not reflecting housing. I replaced the ones in my gti and provide better lighting than oem.
@@esqu3l3to ok, good to know. My Tiguan doesn’t have projectors. Might just buy LED bulbs
Yes I would suggest that. Otherwise with HID you will get angry ppl at you haha

This tiguan uses 9006 type bulbs. If you need the same you can buy online like amazon, ebay etc.
Where are they shipped from? I'm located in europe.
Most likely China, but also from the U.S. depends
Did you have any light bulb error in the control panel of the car ??
No, the vehicle will not give you a "check" code on your dash for LED fog lights. I have LED on my mk6 gti and it doesn't give a code either. Only if you install LED on the park lights or license plate.
Esqu3l3to thanks for the reply. Could it be the error if I change the interior Lights for LED ??
Interior lights won't give you an error either. Only license plate, park (front or back). I get those codes on my gti because I have LED for park, front bumper and license plate but not for the interior.
If it does give you an error it will tell you to check "front left/right" etc
Esqu3l3to yes that’s the error but after turning ON the fog lights the error disappears. The LED fog lights works but the error appears when I insert the Carkey, with or without engine start, and disappears after the activation of the fog lights. I’ve led lights from the same Chinese dealer and brand and with the other LED didn’t have any trouble. It’s only with the fog lights.
Oh ok, so I will assume your fog lights are your daytime running lights?
