The Jones Act applies to only cargo ships. The cruise ship version is the Passenger Service Vessel Act, but that is the law that makes foreign vessels have to stop at one foreign port if they embark and disembark from a US port. So, neither of these would have any effect on compensation that I know about.
This is the new Royal Caribbean typical itinerary : Day 1 : Nassau Beach club, Bahamas Day 2 : Perfect day at Cococay, Bahamas Day 3 : Labadee, Haiti (Considering it has reopened in 2026) Day 4 : Cozumel Beach club. Bahamas Day 5-6-7 : At sea ( To compensate for all the sea time I wasnt calculating) Thats money every day of the cruise for RCI. I love private destinations, but at this point are you really traveling ? Not saying it isnt fun but you know…
I would not put it past them! I almost mentioned in my video that apparently some of the cruises that were supposed to go to Labadee are now doing an overnight at CocoCay. Were they already doing both and are now just going to stay at CocoCay?
@@cruisingfromtheozarksI know for a fact some cruises were doing both… now the fact that they stay overnight is win-win. Cruise line is happy, guests are happy
I'm sorry, a mega ship has way too Many activities and events on board to keep people of all ages engaged. One just has to be open minded to explore and be willing to try something new or different. Keep the "Karen" content coming.... love the lively commentary you provided 😊😊😊
Meant to tell u last week I appreciate you putting these out after such little sleep. 😊
Will the Jones act make the family not get any compensation for the tragedy?
