Your accent makes me wanna vomit
You'll be alright.
@@Freddy_Confetti I think the word you're attempting to find is "you're" as in "you are".
Saliva Shitter......or whatever your title is......If you don't like then fuck off and watch your television.
Your lame ass ghetto truck makes me wanna vomit.
I am from Peru and I understand everything he says...Well English is different every where.like Spanish it is....But for all.of non English natural speakers.sounds clear.and real.
If you were a teenager in the 70s when these bikes exploded onto the market it was a truly magical time..we all old farts now but man do we have some memories..great video all the best from England.
great times
I own a CBX. I bought it brand new in 1982. It's an 81 with the Fairing and saddlebags. I really love my motorcycle!!!
My dad had a 79 CBX that he bought and rebuilt the motor. Bored, stroked, new cams, head work all the fun stuff. He used it as his daily driver drag bike. My brother and I grew up on the gas tank. By far my favorite bike.
You can say whatever you want, but the video quality is still as insane as always. I love the sound of that 6 cyl,if i had one I'd just be constantly revving for no reason and giggling like a little girl.
Good Vid❤️
You and me both 😂
Giggling like a little girl? Nah .... I would be laughing like a maniac. Ahahahhahahha
right? for sure.. 15 seconds in on this I was cracking a grin and giggled no shit!
You sir have so much knowledge. Own a BMW K75s. Have a 1883 boxer BMW. Love the 6. Had an 83 CB 1100F. Wish I still had it...even being a BMW guy
1983
The bike that sounds like an F-1 car. :)
Right? Like someone split one of the old v12s in half and shoved it in a bike. With the right exhaust these bikes sound like nothing else on two wheels
man i love that sound. reminds me of my old bmw six cylinder car.
It sure does
You don’t say
At one point it sounded like 2 F1 cars.
Bought myself a brand new CBX1000 way back in 1982. Absolutely loved it. Put a set of Kerker exhausts on the beast and it sounded like a howling banshee. Ahhhh I miss those days 😁😁😁
The CBX1000 is everyone's favorite bike
When it came out people mocked it relentlessly. The four cylinder bikes were far more popular
We all agree here

There is almost no better motorcycle sound than a Honda CBX that is well tuned, with a 6 into 1 exhaust system.

Dude, the Bike History vids are dope!
When Honda went Insane with their super bikes (again).
You mean when honda went insane with their super bikes "the first time"
@@taters5586 Honda practically invented the Superbike.
I’m a Kawasaki guy ... but when it comes to six-cylinder bikes they all sound phenomenal. Looking forward to the next instalment!
You were thinking of me when you made this video. I appreciate it.
A lot of people experienced deja vu with this video lol
The narrator is pure gold. Pure knowledge and wit. Lmao I love this channel. “X gone give it to ya.” 😅
that 50cc two cylinder thing revving to 21.000rpm must sound like a swarm of angry bees.
This bike actually sounds better than 2019 F1 car.
@Bilal Ayub lmao
@Bilal Ayub my tesla sounds better
Completely crazy sound
Outstanding Fact Filled Video! I must admit in my old age the CBX is my all time favorite as well. Back in the early eighties a group of us used to get together on Sunday mornings. One in the group had a CBX. I learned to adore the sound of the engine as it would howl away from the group every once in a while. I got used to watching the taillight getting smaller and smaller in a couple of seconds knowing there was nothing I or anyone in the group could do to catch it. The images and sounds are carved into my mind forever. Although I will never own one I love them just the same. Also, if memory serves me correctly, Honda had a bunch of NOS CBX's in the early eighties sitting in the crates that could be had at a nice discount. Sad to say the bike was a flop. Not so today!
The best sounding six cylinder bike ever. And one of the best sounding bikes in the world.
“The frame slider is the engine” lol facts
This is the best motorcycle documentary if have seen yet. Thanks for this.
It’s the sound! Who cares how much power and how heavy it was. The sound is what makes it so dreamy!!!
I met an old timer like me who had one. His pride and joy. It just needed crash bars fitted. And a fork upgrade to be honest and brembos. The motor was capable of running harder than Honda allowed. They wanted reliability to be there too. In the flesh these look and sound wonderful.
One of my favorites too. Years ago I passed up the chance to buy a CBX and I’m still kicking myself for it. Great video, as always.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
How much did they want for it back then?
That was back in ‘98, the Honda dealer was asking $3500. It was the sport-tour model with only like 2k on the clock. I was young and dumb back then and I bought a ‘93 Gsxr 750.😢
I see a CB77 in shot there at 2:20. I had one of those in 1962, brand new and one of the first sold in Britain. It outperformed many of the British bikes like BSA 650s, Triumphs etc and unlike those never leaked oil and ran smooth as silk with no vibration! That bike was 315cc and redlined at 9500 rpm although I took it higher than that to 11000 one time and it did not mind at all!
The first CBX I ever saw - and heard - took my breath away with the engine sound on standard silencers. It just sounded sooooo sweet and smooth!
I like how the cb77 doesn't have a cradle frame too
AJS 500CC BIRED,, STRIPPED TO ENG, FRAME, TIRES SEAT. FLIPPIN THING STILL WEIGHED 550 LBS. BUT TORQUE BLOW UR MIND. HANG ON ALL U COULD DO.
AJS, 500,,, GIT HER 90 MILES AN HR. PUT IN 4TH. TWIST DER THROTTLE AN HANG ON. WILL ROCKET U OFF,, FOR RIDE OF UR LIFE.
Brother, I ALWAYS look forward to your videos! Commentary, pics, video clips, back stories, facts, and sense of humor make GREAT video content!
🔥🔥🔥 ⚔️☠️⚔️
Thank you!
Straight on to part two because this was a fantastic production. 👏👏👏👏
100% my favorite bike as well! I just can't get over how godlike it sounds! Also, that custom one with the big bs on the side of the tank looks incredible! ....ahhh, to dream...
The lack of videos on this bike is a shame, thank you
Thanks for watching!
The CBX was launched at the same time as the new CB900f and the CB750kz all three bikes had common engine features 4 valve heads, with pentroof combustion chambers. I couldn’t afford the CBX in 79 when I was in the market for my first big bike. Ended up with the 750kz the first Honda 750 twin cam 16v road bike.
Everybody lusted after the CBX for around 18 months it was king of the road, until the other manufacturers caught up and overtook the CBX, for me it still holds a special place👍
Dude, so agree on the CBX as fave of all time. Born in 67, grew up riding Honda with their roulette wheel displacement progression. Never did have an original CB750 though, 😕.
Years ago a friend invited me to work corners at Talladega Gran Prix raceway as we were both into sport bikes and MC culture pretty heavily. That weekend, a vintage racing organization called AHRMA had booked the track. Vintage motorcycle racing people are the nicest, coolest, most laid back folks in an industry and culture full of Ricky Racer, chip on the shoulder, wannabe type A's and that weekend we camped out at the track and partied with these same folks the whole time. There were tons of interesting bikes and classes for every sort. From the obscure to the ubiquitous, it was there. While wondering the campground that first evening my buddy and I encountered our first Honda CBX. It was up on pit bulls sitting
You've been killing it with these videos lately, love the fact that you're just some goof ass without making it just cringe worthy, while also keeping everything factual and informative. Keep up the good work my man
1965, 125cc, 4 stroke - 5 cylinder, 20v, 19500rpm, 32ps.....
That’s the same power as a 125 watercooled 2 stroke engine designed in the 1990’s.
Honda was doing it 30 years prior to that. Mental.
Totally mind blowing
Well yeah but those are road going 2 strokes, rc is a race bike
Obbe Zwiers - the RC has half the powerstrokes. Race engine or not it’s bloody impressive
Not True. Racing two stroke 125s made over 50hp in the 90s.
@@davespooney8472 impressive Indeed, crazy rpm
Man, I love your videos on this stuff. So nice to get some baiku history in, and you even make it fun too!
Good vid. I appreciate the way you leave in the occasional blooper (CBR, RCB, whatever!) - makes you seem very relatable.
My first ride on a motorcycle was on the back of my dad's 1979 CBX. I still remember it.
Long time ago i commented. Really like this kind of vids. Finally got my bike license and my own bike.
Congratulations. What bike did you get?
@@Theillestrator1050 1994 Yamaha FZR600R A great starterbike if you ask me. Everytime i start riding i grin from ear to ear.
The intro is just perfect. Literally no words needed for that.
The true meaning of " respect your elders" part 1. Those bikes can look so fresh when tricked the right way.. You go from NYC Hooligan to dropping a Gem on us just like that with your love for old school. This is what makes your channel great. Great work young blood
I bought my friends dads gsxr600 back in 2008.
He used the money from the sale to buy a CBX1000. It was in bits in a few crates, with only 60 miles on the odometer.
He rebuilt it and went on to sell it to Honda UK for a pretty decent profit.
It sits in the foyer of their UK headquarters.
That's awesome
I remember the CBX from back in the day. The noise is unmistakable! Only when the V-Max and Eliminator came out, did people's attention move away from the CBX. I'm looking forward to the next video!
Dear sir, this bike "does not make a noise" it creates a symphony of sound that will make your hair stand on end.... Every time :) :)
@@hanshoogendyk2203
Agreed! By no means did I intend the use of the words "noise" imply negativity. Only the opposite of "quiet," which falls in line with your description. 😋👍
The sound alone is .... leader of the pack! 👍
Illustrator, please, you do all of these videos of certain bikes justice, please if you could, make a video on the Blackbird...one of Honda's most iconic of late. I lusted after the Bird when I first seen one in late 96 in the showroom, and finally last year ended up buying the exact one I seen on the floor (not exact, but year and color)...a 96 built (97) in Mute Black Metallic. Was bone stock when I bought it off the original owner, and with only 22k miles, garage kept. Gorgeous bike, deceptively fast, super smooth, ICBM.
Jon George I had a poster of one on my wall as a kid. Lusting after an ex400 and a XX for when I got older.
I don't know if you saw the speed war videos but I actually covered the blackbird in that video
My family were really into the Hondas in the 70's and 80's, my brother ended up getting a CBX... I could hear him from miles away...
Good times for sure!
I love that six cylinder shriek, so smooth yet hysterical sounding!!!
I keep playing the first 25 seconds of this video over and over again!!
Its practically music
Haven’t even watched but I’ve already given you a thumbs up!!! What a bike....
😁
I blame accountants for lack of innovation now in companies. Before the 2000’s it was all about make the fastest the best and to hell with cost.
Now it’s all profit and shareholders....
Liked and subscribed. Finally UA-cam puts something worthy in my feed.
Much appreciated!
I’ve got a aprilia rsv4 and if that cbx rolled up next to me at a stop light I’d be scared. What a beautiful sound. What a beautiful build.
The CB750 took motorcycles from the '60s into the 21st century!
The Best motor and the Best Sound . Nothing compears . some else .
The sound was righteous, the weight horrendous. I would like to see Honda try that again with today's tech. Danny the plumber has a nice one, check it out.
currently restomoding one with a friend. Awesome engineering for the time.
Lucky guy!
Yea so lucky to be paying x3 more on every single nut compared to other vintage bikes :) dont get in to it unless you are ready for it
This was the beast that made me want to ride. A friend brought his copy of "the" cover with the red '79 on it. I was hooked. In '87 my dad took one in trade, andI learned how to work on engines by tearing it down and then rebuilding it (with help). I really miss that monster.
Just rode my 2002 CB600F. Old but gold. Oh and it's 0,8°C in Estonia.
Just yesterday when i was asked which bike is my favorite I said I'll take black CBX over anything . Amazing video, you delivered as always, thanks!
A lot of people experienced deja vu with this video lol
The silver is faster though ... 😅
Best sound from a motorbike out there.
Man you know a quality product when you ride it, CBX was at the top of the tree as soon as you turned the key, your ears warmed to that rip roaring, spine chilling screech on full cry, that turned heads way down the road.
As far as riding goes, ....
Next to sex, CBX was best! 😀👊👍
I've always been a honda fan since the seventies.best bikes out there in my opinion.i remember when the cbx came out.it has always been my favorite bike ever.
Man, all of your videos are super cool and informative. Thanks, brother
I can't believe we have the same favorite bike. XD I didn't expect that but yes. This is my dream bike.
Let's see who gets it first! 😂
One of my favorite bikes ......a friend of mine had two but he passed away and his ex wife got them and sold them for about $3000 each unfortunately I did not have the cash.
I am driven by how a bike sounds that's why I ride a Harley and why I owned the Suzuki GT750 ......
Unfortunately I will not be able to own a CBX but I did test ride one the year it was released .
Great video by the way
In 79 I bought the new i think xl 500 trail bike and the dealer had a 79 CBX with turbo and they could t sell it because they said when you tried to slow down for curves you had to let of throttle way early or it would push too fast through corner.??
There’s a power when you grab that throttle few will ever know. I used to say it’s like you just think of being somewhere and you’re there. Kind of like being teletransported. Haha. It was smooth, I never felt the rain grooves, it was so fast the traffic was a distant memory. It was just a lot of fun to own and ride.
I bought new ones in both 81 and 82. Then bought a couple of flawless versions in the late 80’s.
Should have kept them all. A truly amazing motorcycle then and still.
Awsome video. And I agree there is something about the cbx 1000 that just makes it tingle All the right places
I love the classical music in the background in all the vids.....perfect
I think you accent is great and your English is very clear. I was going to reply to the comment above but it would just get lost with the others. You would sound good on TV or doing some voice over documentary narration. Love the vids too - especially where you show us around New York with your buddy.
I had the 1982 CBF 750 super sport loved that bike
Ah, the CBX /6. I had two of them, a silver 81 and the pearl white 82, both were pure motorcycling joy!
Riding from southern California to a friend's ranch in Oregon, I melted the underside of the saddlebags...too much time on afterburner I guess.
Rising them required commitment, rolling off the throttle in a curve was a no-no. Absolutely gorgeous sound just like a 911 Porsche.
My dad use to own Kawa Z13. And he loved it, was feul injected and narrower than the Cbx. But heavy on feul and heavy. Still have a soft spot for kawasaki though. Awesome videos, keep it up.
Was it A reliable bike?
@@Theillestrator1050 Yes it was, he sold it when he started his business. He is a kawasaki fan and never liked the Cbx.
He always says if he could buy 1 in the same condition that he sold, he would.
Z13 as far as I know had a bullet proof motor.
Before that he had a gpz 1100 and the feul injection on that wasn't very good. The bike whould just cut out randomly.
watching the pressure wave from that first pass - oh man what an amazing machine
I have always wanted one.
I make do with a 1998 GSF600 Bandit.
They are cheap to get, easy to care for, parts are readily available, (new or used) and go reasonably well.
I have spent more on the bike than it is worth about 3 times over, but I LOVE IT.
Plus I love old naked bikes.
At first, it sounded like a F-1 car coming down the road. This one of the prettiest bikes ever built, one of my favs along with the Kawasaki H-1, H-2's. Good job dude and as far as your up north accent, you aren't bothering me.
Yo my dude how the hell are you only at 42k sub ???? You put out some of the best mototcycle content
With due time... We're trending upwards! 😁
Damn right you are , I have a theory, that "UA-cam gate" hides quality content and then pushes the narrative garbage lol keep up the good work 👍 👌
As a former GL1000 owner/builder. They were chunky, but they also have some extremely heavy parts on them. The stock battery was huge and weighed 16lbs. The stock exhaust system was made out of the thickest damn steel in the world, and there are a few other ways to shave some weight. I knocked about 50lbs off of mine without trying too hard. They carry their weight REALLY low too, which makes them handle surprisingly well. Flat 4 engine and a fuel tank under the seat has that effect.
Also, that 80hp rating is believed to be on the low side for the 75-77 GL1000's, which had the largest ports, valves, intakes, and carburetors of any Goldwing ever made, along with the most aggressive cam profiles. Also, there already are some pretty sweet built GL1000, 1100, 1200 Goldwings out there. ;)
Were they reliable bikes?
@@Theillestrator1050 Supremely reliable. Not many bikes out there can log 200,000 or even 300,000 miles on the original motor. The highest mile GL1000 has logged over 1 million miles on 4 engines, with the original engine making it to 382,000. Allan Zahrt is the owner of said machine. Just need to do the maintenance on them.
That bike is PERFECTION.
Yes Sir that is a Amazing Bike cant find one to save my Life ... the sound is purely Amazing

i would have this bike in my garage, just for the kinda sound it makes. Its purely Eargasmic!!!! A sound you just cannot get anymore.
Nice video.
Honda! Stoked for another vid! Should do one on the Yamaha vmax! That’s my dream “cruiser” lol
When the Yamaha V-Max first came out, it shared the title of being the biggest bad-ass bike along with the Kawasaki Eliminator. The street duels between those two were legendary. I always loved the V-Max!
Imagine if they put that V4 in a lightweight chassis like a naked bike.

145 HP of monstrous adventures!
I remember going to the local Honda dealer when I was 16 and sitting on one of these and comparing it to the used CB350 I owned, it was massive. Then I heard someone in the parking lot fire one up...... man oh man did that sound great. The closest I got to owning one was a CB900 Custom. A guy at the 2007 Americade Rally in Lake George, NY was riding a custom bike with 1000cc motor up and down the street. Maybe there will be one at the vintage bike show in Stockbridge, Michigan next month. Fingers crossed.
Fantastic, just settled down for a can of Spaghettios and what did I find waiting? ... a new Illistrator vid. 👏
Life is good.
lol, Spaghettios... Livin' the high life.
Uh-oh spaghettios
I know the importance of entertainment while eating so this makes me ultra happy
It's the simple things in life....
I did a quick check on the internet, for the unusual bike it is, their are some really nice examples that can be bought relatively cheap. Say less than 10 grand for a nice one, 5 grand for not as nice.
I hope they were organic spaghettio’s
My cousin had a CBX back in the day. It was badass!
The CBX is gorgeous. Of course I'm biased, I've owned quite a few CB750s and of course the CBX is just the pinnacle of that base.... with a 6cyl. Through a set of Keihin Flatsides and a 6-1 exhaust on a CBX and it's a beast. There's a older gent on UA-cam that has a nasty turbo CBX.
I'm gonna look him up
Love these old bikes, what an epic time for motorcycles. Great vid, thank you.
I had 2 79's and 1 81. I loved them. The throttle response was perfect. I sure wished I would have kept that 81.
12 years old and this was my 1st bike I learn to ride.... I have the best uncle ever
Very nice video. A great watch covering more than just the CBX1000, appreciate your hard work man!
Yo keep it up bro - I love your vids. Just bought a 91 zephyr 750 to morikawa and café out. I'll be riding with you in spirit. All the best - 😎
*morikawa is moriwaki parts on a Kawasaki for me btw. Look em up - they make great parts for zephyrs.
I had to look up the zephyr to see what it was. It looks like A nighthawk and people do some pretty cool things with those so I know your bike will be pretty dope

very cool bike. love the research you do.. and yeah the CBX is a crazy machine..
I WILL OWN ONE, AND YOU WILL TAKE IT FOR A RIDE SIR
Dude, awesome video I can say I was proudly schooled. Sad byproduct of your video mastery is it will probably add another 3-5k to the formentioned CBX bottom line price.
Thank you for compiling all the info on these lovely machines!!! Great video! I scoped what guys are asking for these on Cycle Trader….unicorns, boys!!! Rubber side down, riders 🏍😎
Am new to biking only just seen this bike in the last few weeks god it is absolutely beautiful listen to that man god I have never heard a bike like it
Back in 83 I had a friend who had a CBX 1000 and your right nobody wanted these bikes because of the way they looked. They looked like someone took an enigine, slapped on some tires and a seat and a away they went. This bike was nothing but power and to be honest didn't handle all that well. BUT!!!! If you were like us and did the quarter mile street races out in the middle of no where then this was the bike you wanted!!!!
