At 1:53 Uwe's vocal chords finally bid him goodbye for good. Poor guy, he's such a great singer - when the songs aren't way too high pitched for him, as it is the case here. Still love him! Incredible actor and Maxim was one of his best roles. Thanks for uploading!!!
I know! I was surprised they made so epic a musical out of a book whose charm was often found in small domestic details and whose action didn't pick up until the ball/dress scene. The opening and closing song made it seem as if Ich was really the narrator (although Kunze has practice with that effect with Lucheni) and the description of the little details was covered in the lyrics.
Just (literally) ordered the libretto for Marie Antoinette! I'm actually starting to sub it now although it'll take a little while before I upload the first part. So pleased you enjoyed Rebecca too; it's an epic musical! ~Havanah x
I think they were following the plot of the book. It also kinda . . . told . . . Though you can see the hints in the way Mrs. Danvers acts as if she herself had had a love affair with Rebecca (and says that no man could resist her), in the way Ben is afraid of anyone named "Mrs. de Winter," in the way Maxim avoids memories of Rebecca and in Beatrice's relief that her brother's new wife is different than his first one. Subtle hints, but still there . . .
That musical was gorgeous :D XD So glad I could FINALLY watch it!!! :D XD Great job Havanah! :D XD I am so happy that you take the time to translate these.
No problem. I love doing it ^.^ Sorry about the lack of the English subs (and everything else) last night. UA-cam told me that it had failed to upload the video last night so I planned to leave it all to this morning. Log in and find out that it had indeed uploaded the video. What a mess hehe! They're uploaded now though. ~Havanah x
Thank you so much! I've always wanted to watch this musical, but its hard to find versions with English subtitles! This show is gorgeous, thank you for uploading it!
Click on the CC button on the video, underneath the how far through you are bar (I know it'll have a name but that's what I call it hehe) I started soft subbing half way through this project. ~Havanah x
I do think so. I'm not sure when I'll start though as I have exams coming up and I haven't ordered the libretto yet which I really do need to do! ~Havanah x
Wow thank you for uploading this wonderful musical! Read in the comments Mozart and/or Marie-Antoinette are coming up too? Would love to see those! You really do a great job with this!!
Okay, this is getting funny. You comment as I order the libretto and now you've commented again: the libretto arrived this morning =p I'm actually excited to be starting a new project too! ~Havanah x
