In 2021, Zack Snyder corrected his mistake.
Join me as I take a look at the Snyder Cut and how well it stacks up to the original Justice League.

Yes I’m aware, Darkseid is Steppenwolf’s nephew... in the comics.
In the movie, Steppenwolf is Darkseid’s nephew in the Snyder Cut.
Which is what I’m talking about
Oh wow I never knew that
Didn't know it either
Did they even establish that did he call him Uncle Darkseid that's hilarious , I love when you do comic anime or movie reviews and have not the slightest comprehension of comic meaning . Good your focusing on technical stuff on this one .
That's much darker, imagine stepping on the head of your nephew who worships and loves you with all of his heart.
SIKES!!
lmaooo i'm crying no he's not. even in Snyder's film biography of Steppenwolf is clearly states that he betrayed his nephew Darkseid. you really couldn't just say you were wrong? lmaoo
After watching the Snyder cut I understood why the guy who played Cyborg was so unbelievably pissed. They have completely removed his origin story and make him generic character from the rank of Hawkeye in first Avengers. Imagine being the maincast of a blockbuster and you have done all the scenes and suddenly you are brought to almost cameo position with 10 lines in the whole movie.
and also the people there were racist to him
He always have been a generic character, but it's true that this movie elevated him.
@@souljastation5463 I know, but I have to give credit to Ray Fisher, that he really got in the role. I just wish DC didn't try to copy all the time the Marvel cinematic universe.
It’s cuz they “can’t have an angry black man at the center of the movie “ 😂
@Cledas Dinkle Berray go to ray fishers Twitter he explains it
Just to clarify, WB didn't green light the snyder cut, AT&T did after taking notice to the social media took advantage of an opportunity needing something to bring people to hbomax which currently is the go to for DC content. Made me sub to hbomax lol
Zack's vision was too broad for his own good but seeing it all come together doesn't only make it all make sense but makes it worth it
It's WB's fault for wanting to play catchup with the Avengers though I think Snyder could have trimmed this down to 3hrs and would still be a solid film.
I guess he wanted to show everything since the future of the snyderverse looks bleak.
Honestly, if he ever gets his chance, he should do a HBO Max miniseries
It's awful
@@TheRealUnkn0wn_289 what ?
It's a bad vision imo. People who want him to direct the rest of the DCEU only like it because dark and pretentious is cool now. All that said, I do hate what WB did to him. Regardless of anyone's opinion on his vision, this should never happen to any director.
The Justice League's main villain, isn't Darkseid
It's "warner bros."
evil company lol
Yeah they did say Cyborg did steal the show. His backstory flushed out much better.
Does Cyborg even need to flush?
Looks like in this incarnation, he doesn't even have a digestive system anymore...
@@randallflagg3700 he might have to flush some type of liquid coolant.
One minor quibble: in Josstice League, Lois being on scene to calm Superman down before he murders Batman was indeed part of the plan, part of an attempt to wrap up the "Lois is the key" thing. But in ZSJL, she's there on her own volition because visiting Superman's memorial is something she does of her own free will on a very regular basis. This is superior since it gives Lois agency that she lacked in Josstice League, it pays homage to and doesn't short-change her grief and love of Clark, and it leaves open the idea that she still has a role to play.
It was actually AT&T who gave him a second chance remember that
Remember...Iron Man was a “B-Lister” as well in Marvel....BUT.... #yaknowhowitends
Still is to me. I loved watching him die
@@xipetotek8216 Ayo bro you good

Now we just need to see how this story ends ! #restorethesnyderverse
You might have missed it but Cyborg does do a BOOYAH at the 6 assembled scene towards the end when he fist bumps the flash!
Oh yeah. He did! :D
The 2017 version of justice league is like if a parody is released before the real movie comes out
If someone doesn’t like Josstice League they can just think of it as one of the other multiverses outcomes.
@@jacob9110 yes, an outcome which makes little to no sense.
Dude I remember when it came out I was in the theater going “how does this look both high budget and low budget at the same time?”
The 2017 version makes the other films in the universe make sense and the heroes act like heroes
I feel sorry for the braindead people who think the "Synder Cut" was better when both of them are absolute trash.
It’s baffling that WB thought the most important thing above all else is that the movie be 1 hr 45 mins + credits. They butchered every scene in JL sometimes just to shave a few seconds off the runtime
Releasing movies as part1 and part2 is not exactly unheard of, they could have done so with the JL.
I think the film was a victim of WB trying to piggyback off the success of the MCU, without understanding the reasons why the MCU is so successful. In the original, they were trying to introduce too many concepts, characters and 'future stuff' to be a successful, cohesive, feature-length story.
What would have been better was do individual films BEFORE doing a team up movie (since these have been better received and provide enough time for backstory/character development). Then all they would have to do was focus on the heroes coming together and introducing the Darkseid storyline...
@@danielbillingsley8073 but then WB would be acussed of copying the MCU, and not being original.
Also introducing several characters on a single movie can be done, hell WB had done it already; look up Justice League : War which is very similar to the ZSJL. They introduced 6 characters flawlessly in less than 15 minutes
@@souljastation5463 how can you do a 2 part movie with the story of the movie ?
i mean, yu just can't end the first part of your movie with the half of the complete one
It's so they can get as many Showings in a day as possible. In the end its all about the Dollars.
Very happy that the Zynder cut got released. I know Dick Grayson got Teen Titans and the Robins are all very important to DC but I don't think any of the Robins got their own shows/movie. Even Teen Titans Go did a movie of Robin trying to get his own movie
Mostly because you never really see Robin on his own his either on a team or a side kick
@@conradlorgar5508 I mean Robin is a sidekick. Nightwing, Red Hood, Batgirl and Red Robin could have their own movies though. Or they could have Batman go on a long Justice League mission or be badly injured leaving Robin to protect Gotham.

That ending was so great it gave me chills. Seeing and hearing my childhood favs was great. Imagine Hamill as well!?
He does that for every outro using a site called Cameo that allows you to pay actors to say whatever you want(within reason) Sadly, Mark Hamill doesn’t use Cameo, so Vee couldn’t get him on there, but in later videos he got Troy Baker who did Joker in Arkham Origins, which is pretty great.
If anything, this movie made the interactions of the League more enjoyable than last time. Like Aquaman and Wonder Woman having a heart to heart instead of him sitting on her lasso and telling her how hot she is. I’m still just not much of a fan of this universe, but the movie was fine for what it’s worth.
Watch the animated films that's where it's at.
I liked the Wonder Woman is hot scene though. It's tension breaking, funny, and true. We LOVE you Gal.😍❤ Just not WW84 😬
I swear you can make Kevin Conroy read the phone book and it would still be the coolest thing on the planet
I'd listen to him starting with Aaron Aaronson
Doom Patrol did a decent job with Cyborg's backstory.
How is the show?
@@Spiderstan2000 its amazing tbh
I was really looking foward to this video. I'm glad you liked it
I'm just glad that The Flash had more stakes in the story. His time travel scene is the greatest flash moment out of comics
I think cyborg and beast boy are similar in this manner they won't take charge but they will act and they are prepared to act in whatever role is needed
I thought teen titans showed that pretty well
this movie made me look back at dc with more interest than ever before
I wasn’t a big fan of Jokers laugh but movie was interesting to watch. I definitely prefer this version to the previous.
That and the reach around line were the only things I didn't like, he did really good!
I don’t think there’s anyone who thinks the theatrical version was better, except maybe Mr. Rogers
Imagine watching a 4 hour movie and the only thing you have to say is something about the laugh of a character who’s on screen for only 5 seconds
@@patrickl671 it’s the same laugh as suicide squad joker I wasn’t crazy about it then either it’s more of a cackle than the joker laughs I’m use to hearing. At the end of the day bro it’s just my opinion lol.
The 2017 version was laughable. The Snyder Cut made more sense.
ya like batman vs superwomen

I was positively surprised by this film.
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021) isn't perfect but it is a good film in my opinion. 7/10 from me.
After finishing watching it, I was like:
*"Damn, I actually want to know what will happen next."*
You don’t need to write the year the movie was released lol
Exactly how I felt
I agree with MOST of it. But i do believe that, from the start,Darkseid looks like a whimp. Him not JUST losing, but losing BADLY to the gods is hilarious to me. A joke i had with the friends i was watching it with was when the portal opened up,and they decapitated Steppenwolf, that he was like "OH,SHIT! CLOSE THE PORTAL! I AM NOT FIGHTING THEM! DID YOU SEE WHAT THEY DID TO STEPPENWOLF? I STAND NO CHANCE!"
I agree. That opening is a textbook example of how not to introduce the big bad of your film franchise. Any menace that Darkseid may have inspired is completely wasted after you see him being nearly killed in his first proper introduction.
If he had gone to fight them
It would have come off as bad writing because he has no reason to do so
@@keithwilliams1795 don't be quick to judge
@@Latentheatfussion as a long time dc fan i enjoyed darkseid losing because that is not the darkseid we currently hold to such high standard on the power scale it is darkseid before he killed his brother and took on the omega effect and it serves to show earth has mighty heroes but when they eventually show the current darkseid omega effect and all he will be nigh unstoppable and a complete juxtiposition to his introduction scene
Although he was beaten it took a lot of people to take him down, hell even the gods had to intervene because he was that powerful. He was not a pushover but he also wasn't the powerhouse he became later and also it settles the reason why he's so obsessed with earth.

It didn't answer the most important question - Does aquaman like fishsticks ?
I think Snyder has a lot of subtext in his movies-he just needs a LOT of run time to make them good lol. I miss the Aquaman scene where he sits on the lasso of truth lol
Aquaman is dope. A super underrated character
not big fan of zack , but this movie make me interesting of his vision
Hot take, but I like Zack Snyder as a filmmaker more than Joss Whedon. Yeah, Sucker Punch is kinda dumb, but Zack Snyder has a unique style that stands above most big budget Hollywood movies, whereas Joss Whedon’s is pretty bland for my taste. His movies give off this strong comic book vibe, where each shot looks like it was ripped straight out of a panel, especially in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Say what you will about Batman v Superman, but the more I watch the Ultimate Edition of that movie, the more I like it. A lot goes on, sure, but it still feels more cohesive, and I really dig the political thriller vibe it gave. Regarding Joss Whedon, I appreciate the impact Buffy and Angel had in entertainment, as well as the fanbase. I even like his first Avengers movie, but that’s where my appreciation for his work ends. Age of Ultron is a bland run-of-the-mill superhero movie with no huge stakes behind its story. His version of Justice League is a mess. It’s a huge mess. He reshot 90% of the movie into another typical superhero movie with forced jokes that don’t stick the landing (BRUNCH), and no big stakes with its villain; and to make things worse, we don’t even care for our favorite superheroes! All of that is changed in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Cyborg and Barry have so much character depth, that I want to see more of them in future DC movies. All the characters have great chemistry compared to the Whedon Cut. What I really love about Zack Snyder’s Justice League is how the characters aren’t constantly bickering with each other like in the first two Avengers movie or Josstice League. It’s such a tired cliche, and it made me roll my eyes when Whedon added it in the theatrical release.
Exactly my thoughts. Whedon's humor is really unbearable in Age of Ultron.
Awesome video here, I'm glad this happened and I wish we could get more but WB's top lady is being is being stubborn about it.. Ugh.
I feel the same way about Snyder’s movies, style over substance. When I was a kid I loved 300 & watchmen but that’s more nostalgia than anything. With that being said, I loved the Snyder cut, and I did not plan on it either
I TOTALLY agree with this whole review. Great watch, I enjoyed your description of the movie and characters. GREAT JOB. You just gained a new subscriber.
As a DC fan who also thought this would just an improvement of the joss cut...the Snyder Cut is a damn near masterpiece and might be my favorite superhero movie... Its definitely the most DC movie DC has ever made
@Spencer Dean like can you belive we now live in a world with a (PROPER) live action movie with flash, cyborg, martian manhunter, steppenwolf, desaad, granny goodness, green lanterns, old gods, motherboxes, deathstroke, joker (new version) and darkseid.. This truly feels like a comicbook movie where all these characters just.. "exists"
BY FAR the most DC movie EVER...
That is, until recently...
Yeah, "The Flash" is THAT FUCKING GOOD!
@@thisisnotachannel I'm not sure if id say it's better than the Snyder Cut BUT I really enjoyed watching the flash, ezra really upped his acting for the movie and seeing Keaton and Affleck (and that final cameo) back was one of the best things ever
dude, seriously, i've always said double m is so underrated so it was so great to finally see him make his live-action cinematic debut; i just hope it's not the last we've seen of him
Unfortunately, it probably will be.
Actors get too old to play these roles, eventually. The actor who played MM was already pretty old looking... I mean, hell...
Ben Affleck is pushing 50, I think Cavill is too. Not sure how old Jason Moamoa is, but hes getting up there for sure. Gal Gadot is still fairly young, and could probably play Wonder Woman in perpetuity. Same with Ray Fisher as Cyborg... especially because he is mostly cgi.
But I don't know how they would handle the Ezra Miller thing...
I know how I would handle it... he is that universe's Flash, so he would be brought back as well. He is still a kid, so that could work too... but I doubt he will ever be back as the Flash, no matter how good the recent film is... and believe me, it is EXCELLENT.
This (and a myriad of other reasons) is why I will be personally boycotting this new James Gunn DCU.
If I wanted the lame ass MCU, I would watch the lame ass MCU...
I want the Snyderverse restored as much if not more so than the average fan... but my hope is dwindling.

Injustice cannot be a 3 hour film. It should be a tv series for whatever is the WB DC+ NOW service called.
If characterization is out of whack in Zack's movies then you think Marvel's character's are normal??
characterization is not the same thing as storyline. I do think that Marvel sticks much closer to the source as far as characterization goes (in general, I mean there have been many different characterizations of these properties over the years in the comics), as compared to what Snyder did. Neither one stuck to the source material as far as story goes, they simply drew inspiration. This doesn't mean that I think Snyder made something bad, I love seeing different takes on the mythos.
I mean they're at least consistent
Itsy weird to say but you can't really say that DC movies in general are bad anymore. I don't want the snydervwrse, I'm excited to see a new direction I love peacemaker so far and the suicide squad, the Batman looks really good and I'm hoping to see my boy booster gold in blue beetle. However I wish they just had a plan from the beginning cause canon has become insanely messy like somehow it feels messier than the comics. I think they should just keep rolling with the ideas from the James Gunn stuff. I like that they reference stuff and make a world that feels like it already started, like you could build something really cool from that I like the idea that the world started going before the movies. Like ironman was the definitive start of the mcu, but it could be cool to see a more vague DC
20:08 - 20:30 I missed those scenes too. As well as Gary Clark Jrs' cover of come together.
As far as DC goes, Batman is the only character I like, but I enjoy hearing your perspective on the entire DC Universe
You say "amazing" I say "boring"
So when I first heard the Snyder cut was happening, I was like, oh, just gonna be minor additions like BvS:UE....then I saw it, and it's SO different. My mind is blown that WB cut what they did and gave us....2017 version...
Everyone said the entire time it’s gonna be a completely different movie I still haven’t seen it I care so little about it and even I knew that
The main story is still the same though. This one just has all of the DLC. It's definitely more fleshed out, which helps in certain cases, but sometimes it feels needless. Overall it's better than the theatrical, that much is for sure, but it still carries over many of it's flaws.

Although, I read somewhere that Snyder's version of Superman is true ro the "original" one, and by this I mean that (apparently) Superman initially was meant to be a villain, a character completely different from the progressive protector that people know and love.
@@souljastation5463 Nah, c'mon Superman doesn't have to always be the same in every universe. I heard a rumor around Man of Steel's premier that the general was Martian Manhunter
The rumors were true
Unfortunately, WB have said screw you to Zack Snyder and any possibility of a direct continuation of this story, because WB didn't want this movie to come out in the first place, it only did because AT&T said so in order to boost HBO Max subs (totally underrated service btw), and because WB movie execs apparently have egos that are too big to know what's good for them and to admit when they were wrong. It's nice to finally get closure after almost 3.5 years, but it still sucks it'll probably go absolutely nowhere from here if the studio has its way.
I would love to hear you talk about hellblazer
They added Cyborg in the New 52 continuity to the League and they just stuck with the material. BUT, as well as Victor was handled in Zack's version, this should have been John Stewart all day long in this spot. But again, the negative vibes from 2011 Green Lantern probably had them go a different route. Hell, Black Lightning might have even fit better given his history in the DC Universe.
Thanks for making alright content again, and not just reposting the same video about gothams joker, keep this up and I might subscribe again.
In Justice League, the name Cyborg is misleading. Victor is NOT half human half machine, he is 90% machine. He is nothing more than the Justice League's walking Super Laptop. And that is his ONLY purpose.
Its not man in a physical sense. He's still human, very much controlled by his emotions and his sympathy.
Isn't a cyborg generally a combination of organic tissue and mechanical components, I mean...by that definition he could be 99% machine and still a cyborg it's not always 50/50
I'm pretty sure the Terminator is defined as a cyborg because of his organic flesh despite being 100% machine underneath
Has more presence than Flash in either version of the movie. He’s just a deux ex machina and little else

I was happy to see that they allowed Snyder to finish his vision, but I still didn't really like the films that Snyder made. The slow motion sesame seed just proves it all for me. And age of Ultron is a good film, for me at least.
Don’t forget that Joss also wrote Alien: Resurrection......
To be fair, from what I understand they basically did to Whedon's Alien what they did to Snyder's Justice League. He wrote it, but somebody else directed, edited and produced it. Reportedly, Whedon saw what they did to his script and hated it. xD
So I guess he got his revenge by DESTROYING Zack's movie....
@@ericcarvelli9773 I don't think he did, honestly. From what I heard, there was a lot of executive meddling with Justice League, and a lot of the footage in the current cut simply didn't exist back then. They did a lot of reshoots and extra filming to release this version. So what I think ACTUALLY happened, giving all parties involved the benefit of the doubt:
1) Snyder had a vision for what he wanted, but it would be a VERY long movie.
2) WB didn't want a long movie, so they meddled and forced him to cut his script down.
3) The resulting cut was incomprehensible because Snyder isn't good at making shorter movies.
4) WB kicked him off the project rather than admit that they fucked up.
5) They brought Whedon in to try and "fix" it and only gave him the cut down version of the script.
6) Whedon did his best, but WB wouldn't stop meddling.
7) Justice League came out, WB realised their mistake, and went back to Snyder and said "Ok, you win."
8) Snyder looked at the feedback and used that in his reshoots to make the film better.
That's my personal non-cynical version of events that gives everybody involved the benefit of the doubt because Whedon IS a good writer and director, Snyder does have his moments of being very good, and we all know that Warner Bros are literally the worst when it comes to shady business and executive meddling. >.>
@@ninjabreadman1993r There are some holes in your version of events. For instance why would WB then not go ahead with the snyderverse if this was the case. Also the budget they gave to snyder was for finishing the CGI . It was 70 million. I hate with passion most of the stuff that Wheadon has done outside Buffy and Angel, while i love most of Snyder movies, because i like his style of cinematography, plus i disagree with saying that he is more style over substance.
The thing is that most of his movies gets kind of screwwed because they need to be cut for theaters, when you watch his movies uncut or directors cut, they tend to be more coherent.
Then there is also that he was screwed multiple times by Warner, he was the scapegoat for all their failures, Snyder made the movies that the studio wanted him to do, and when they failed, the balem was put on him, when he was doing what he was asked to do within the parameters given by Warner.
"superman isnt the end all and be all of the justice league". right. id love to see the league deal with doomsday or literally anyone else major without him
The Snyder Cut is better than the original.
But I don't think it's very good. In all honesty, it still has to follow up the abomination that is Batman v Superman. There are some awesome moments, especially with Superman, Steppenwolf, and the Flash, but I found much of it boring and drab. I love some of the characters, but even after this four hour movie, I still felt like all of them were underdeveloped. I found myself not caring about anything that was happening. I now realize that I just don't like Zack Snyder as a filmmaker that much. I haven't seen all of his movies, but I haven't liked a single one of them. Weirdly enough, the only thing that I felt was majorly improved(aside from the colors and maybe, MAYBE Superman) was Steppenwolf. He was actually kind of good. So, like many of the other DCEU movies, I did not like Zack Snyder's Justice League.
I like Snyder movies, I loved the Snydercut, I enjoyed a lot Batman V Superman, I respect the people that dislike (or hate) Snyder movies and the DCEU, and I hate toxic snyderfans, so I just want to say that I enjoy your video. And I agree, no movie is perfect. I think we can have respectful discussions
Exactly bruh. It's just that there is also a lot of toxic Snyder haters who are unfortunately, although not a majority, lretty loud. I despise them just as any toxic group.
