Although cedar would not necessarily be my choice of the shelf materials, I do like the final assembly. I'd likely take the parts to a local powder coater and have some color added to the metal to brighten it all, but that is just me. Thanks for posting the video. Nice job. I find that hocky pucks work well for spacers when doing a lot of paint projects where you don't want to lay the project onto the table as you paint.
Yep! I'm doing this. We recently moved to a better place, but with only one bathroom. So space is always at a minimum. I haven't really been satisfied with anything I found in the stores, so I'll buy the parts and make a couple! Very cool. I'm extending the wood to not leave that gap between the wall if I can help it. But other than that, outstanding!
Hey +Matthew Fant thanks so much for watching!!!! Please let me know if you need any help and post a pic of the finished piece on our facebooked page!!! Would love to see it!
I am planning to make some towel racks and a shelf like the one you did. I want to hit the stus so I plan to use a pipe cutter and a Ratcheting Pipe Threader to make the exact lengths I need.
+marcelo lezcano thanks a lot!!! My wife cleaned our pipes with a vinegar and baking soda mixture. She just wipe them down and they shined up really nice. You might also possibly want to use a little bit of sandpaper before you paint them just to make sure the paint has good contact.
Thanks a lot! Sometimes brush on poly and I don't get along haha. It is holding up just fine. I put quite a few coats on because I know wipe on poly is pretty thin.
Nice. Well it looks very good. I am going to have to make one of these with my son. He's 5 and I think it'll be a good father/son project. Keep up the vids....you got a new sub right here.
What did you clean the pipe with so it's not dingy or oily? Thanks for the video. Another stupid question. What was the device you were putting the wood through before sanding it? Thanks again?
+OMRAGED hello, thanks for watching. The machine I used is a thickness planer. Also, if you want to clean up the piping, I used Vinegar and baking soda. Let me know if you have any other questions
Hey Dan, awesome tutorial! Just wanted to ask, is there a reason why you chose to only use two screws on one side instead of 4 when you hung the rack to the wall?
Who cares? Don't mind if it's rustic or industrial - It's a creation, just. Maybe he doesn't knows technical terms - He just did a project to others enjoy it.
She must be very happy with that shelf its beautiful...

Good. Work. Robot. Man.
I used these directions to make my own! The shelf is made from an old piece of siding from my grandmother’s barn!
No way!!!!! That is so cool. Thanks so much for sharing.
I’d share a pic, but I’m new to posting. Any tips on that? 😂
So nice and such a simplistic design. I will be copying. Thank you.
Great idea! I like how you incorporated the piping and a nice piece of cedar!

Very nice build. Simple and it looks great. How well is the finish holding up? I've never used a wipe-on poly.

(Y) :)
Thank you very much for the posting. Can you please tell us how deep was the cedar plank
+Madhu Sudhan thanks for watching!!! The width of the cedar board was about 5 inches
Great job Dan,, did you have to thread the ends of the 24" bar?? where did you find the bars.??
Thanks a lot! I didn't have to thread the rod. It comes like that. You can pick up all the pieces at the home store. Like Lowes or Home Depot
What did you clean the pipe with so it's not dingy or oily? Thanks for the video.
Another stupid question. What was the device you were putting the wood through before sanding it? Thanks again?

Did you have to paint the pipe that holds the towel to prevent the black residue?
Hello, I ended up cleaning the pipes and then spraying them with polyurethane
awesome, thanks!
+Rudy G no problem at all. Thanks for watching
Beautiful! Thanks for the tutoríal. I'll try this in the future. I subscribed
Hi! thanks for the excellent video, one question, what model of drill do you use?
Hey there. I use a Dewalt Drill
This is awsome, what length screws did you use to install on the wall itself?
I just used 3 inch screws
Hey Dan, great piece! Can I get those piping pieces from Lowe's? or home depot?
Hey Dan, awesome tutorial! Just wanted to ask, is there a reason why you chose to only use two screws on one side instead of 4 when you hung the rack to the wall?
Hey! So there was no particular reason. It felt steady enough after I put 2 in so I stopped there.
I made one very similar, Yours is nicer.
Thank you very much
goood!!!
Amazing project, What is name of the song in the background?
Where do you buy flanges? Can't find these items in stores.
Hi +Aleksey Razvorotnev I bought all these pieces at Lowes

Who cares? Don't mind if it's rustic or industrial - It's a creation, just. Maybe he doesn't knows technical terms - He just did a project to others enjoy it.
