Yes, they are the same. There is only a subtle difference between columns from manual transmission cars vs automatic cars. Cars that came with a stick shift have the little white button at the bottom to release the key from the ignition. AT cars don't have the white button, you need to put the car in park to get the key out.

Just got my fox body 87 2.3L was ready to drive it turns out that shaft was zip tied together
