  • Enjoy this ACIM teaching commentary and find out how to make the decision to trust now with David Hoffmeister from one of our All-Day Movie Commentary Workshops!: circle.livingmiraclescenter.o...
00:00:00 In this section, Peter and David introduce the day's workshop, which will involve watching a movie to delve deep into the mind. The week's chosen theme is making the decision to trust now, emphasizing the importance of developing trust in the present moment rather than placing trust in past or future events. The second theme is experiencing the purity of the heart and recognizing the multiple desires that exist within it. David also notes that the day's movie will lead participants on a deep dive into the present moment, providing an opportunity to experience the stillness that takes them closer to the light.
00:05:00 In this section, David explains that in order to know God and discover our true identity as the Christ, we must allow for purification of the heart. The purification process involves releasing false beliefs, accepting the truth, and stepping into simultaneity. By stepping into simultaneity, we allow ourselves to let go of the concept of time and space and see everything as connected energy instead of the fragmented perception we currently experience. While many perceive the world as fragmented and separate, David emphasizes that this has nothing to do with reality according to Jesus’ teachings.
00:10:00 In this section, David discusses the idea that creating your own reality is no different from traditional Heaven and Hell religions, as reality is Oneness, love, and eternity, which cannot be created. The only purpose is to forgive the world, and to do that, we must accept the correction for this fragmented world through the atonement. To see the false as false is a prerequisite for Spiritual Awakening, as accepting the truth as true requires first seeing the false as false. The final theme is giving up the idea of sacrifice once and for all, as sacrifice often implies doing something we do not want to do or not doing something we want to do.
00:15:00 In this section of the video, David discusses the false sense of self and the fear that arises from the thought of letting go of individuality. The ego is fine with someone being a spiritual person, but not with the idea that there is no individuality because this would mean the end of fragmentation and separation. The mind associated with individuality experiences fear, anxiety, guilt, and anger. The goal is not to have 6.8 billion Christ because the light is pure abstraction and the fear of Awakening involves the belief in sacrifice. David notes that it is not a matter of giving up things, but giving up everything, every thing.
00:20:00 In this section, David emphasizes that individuals are not actually healthy, and the belief in separateness is a reflection of various psychological disorders such as psychosis, schizophrenia, and multiple personality disorder. David argues that all families are dysfunctional, and individuals are not healthy, which keeps doctors in business. However, if reality is pure Love, Oneness, and eternity, then the belief in the individual construct is a reflection of these aforementioned psychological disorders.
00:25:00 In this section of the video, David likens their spiritual journey to Star Trek, going where no ego has ever gone before and reaching the light directly. They discuss how the use of words and symbols, created by the ego, can be used by the light to point beyond them. They also mention a Star Trek episode from Deep Space Nine, in which a character struggles with trust and building a relationship with a higher power, which can serve as a helpful metaphor for those on a spiritual path.
00:30:00 In this section of the video, David provides some context to an episode of Deep Space Nine, where a Starfleet ship is attacked by the Borg and experiences significant damage, leading to the loss of a loved one. David notes that this trauma is a result of our egoic belief in loss, which is not present in heaven. The ego drives beliefs that eventually lead to negative emotions, but by moving beyond it, we can understand and connect with the love of God. David encourages viewers to not fear the ego, but rather transcend it and embrace their destiny to overcome it.
00:35:00 In this section, David uses the example of a character in a TV show to illustrate how people often feel angry with God when a loved one dies. The speaker suggests that this anger stems from the belief that something real has been taken away when, in fact, everything is imaginary. The problem with the belief in sacrifice is that it makes unreal things seem valuable, and when the Holy Spirit asks people to let go of these things, they often resist because they are attached to their imaginary world.

Everything I perceive through my five senses is false. This is opposite of what I was taught. Then even perception is being brought up to question... I really don't know anything at all. I hope I will allow myself to be awakened. There is so much really intense physical and emotional pain in the belief of separation. I know that pain is only the gift of deep sleep, yet there is something within me that still resist the dream as though it were real. Hmmm. I wonder what that is...🤔🙂💓 This rambling of the ego could only be a cry for love. I want to recognize I am home.

Wonderful David! This is such a relevant and core topic. Our ego sees everything in terms of madeup gains and losses (sacrifice). As we get older and see so much of what was familiar (youth, perceived identity) fall away, it can challenge us deeply and feel like a death....ego death for sure. Your words and the truth of ACIM is salve to the soul. Been following ACIM for a long time and the revelations just keep coming, layer after layer. Thank you.☺🎁

Hi David! I like you very much and you recommended a movie I thought was VERY bad which you said is the ultimate forgiveness movie: Solaris. It was most depressing and the characters most unlikable! (In truth I only watched fir half an hour but that was all I could bear!) 😢 so I had to go through a forgiveness process of both the movie and your recommendation - so thanks! 😂 but wait - I have my own recommendation for the ultimate forgiveness movie! The forgiveness frequency was struck so deeply- at the ending - so powerful! The movie is BEN HUR from the olden days....please keep on shining your positivity on all you come across - with much love - your brother Joel ❤❤❤

    Where will you be tomorrow?
    Really I don't care.
    I have seen the future,
    Rising everywhere.
    Look into the mirror,
    Tell me what you see.
    Piece by piece you'll vanish,
    Until you disappear!
Beyond this hell, there is a better life to lead.
    You're all undone, emotionless,
It's not the way for "me".
    Now I know there's a better way,
Let my heart ride out for a brighter day,
Now it's time to breathe in the open air,
With our minds so free, anyway,
    It's time for a change,
    It's time to break free!
    Had enough of foolin',
    Had enough of lies.
    Hypocrisy intriguing,
    Right before my eyes.
    Had enough of hound dogs,
    Barking all the time.
    I agree with Elvis --
You ain't no friend of mine!
Apart from this, there is a better life I know.
    You're all undone, emotionless --
It's time for "me" to go.

Listening to Exodus this week and I realised that sacrifice applies to nothing, that is, to sacrifice illusion is no loss at all. Thanks for another great communion.

If this world is an illusion, what's there to forgive?
Is it forgiveness of our perception,,?
    Been studying ACIM for 22:years,
Are we to forgive our stories?

David i have a question.if no one exists in your dream and theyre just images, why are u getting the other images to wake up? I know im here. So if you know your here and im here, why are u saying that im not here? I dont understand. If your saying that were all one then its different but your saying that in the movie his wife isnt there. So if she isnt there then the people u talk to should also not be there. So why are you? I dont think im understanding nor do i think this is accurate. Were all one . Its not that the others arent there but theyre a part of you. This is my understanding.
