  • Highlights from an amazing winter weekend in Tromso. The capital of the Arctic has a beautiful setting, and offers husky-sledding, cross-country skiing, even organised snowball fight events... and of course, the Northern Lights.
See Yukigassen, the snowball fight tournament, husky-sledding after dark, Pust sauna on the harbour (and icy dip in the sea!), cross-country skiing for beginners, and take the cable car to the summit, as well as other sights of Tromso.

Haha, that’s ok, I know what you mean! It is hard to pick one, obviously the northern lights were very special, but I think best was navigating some of the more difficult bits when husky sledding - we didn’t crash or turn over, and many other sleds did, so we were lucky!

Hi, your video is so touching me! I will be there shortly. Congratulations on your amazing northern lights. Wow! Do you remember the KP index (which predicts northern light possibility) when you saw the northern lights? Was the KP 4-5 at that time? Since during my trip the KP will be 2-3, so I am worried.

Hi there, thanks for your very nice comments! Unfortunately I don’t remember what the KP index was, but local people were saying that it was quite active so I imagine it was elevated. I hope you get to see them!

Would you mind to tell me that video was taken in Oct or Nov? I am planning to visit Tromso in Oct 2023..just want to know the weather in this period. Thanks.

Hi, it was actually taken in March (2022)! So that doesn’t give you any great clues, but I imagine the weather would be similar in October - not sure what the snow cover would be like though.
