I love how he’s surprised that this isn’t the limit for these rides, I find the idea that they’re gonna keep on pushing these layouts further absolutely hilarious
This video is freaking GOLD, man! THIS is the kind of content I crave: seeing what exactly goes into the planning, design and execution of a new roller coaster. Looking forward to seeing your upcoming vids from other manufacturers about the same process! I’d love to see how B&M, Intamin, Premier, Vekoma, S&S, GCI, Gravity Group, etc. designs their rides and then builds them.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I think ever since RMC came onto the scene, we've been in the middle of a golden age of coaster design, and it's been spearhead by both RMC and Mack for the simple fact that they've been consistently pushing some of the wildest, craziest coaster layouts that effectively pushed the envelope in what is possible for wooden, steel, and hybrid coasters in ways we could have only dreamed of before.
We're planning a tour through Belgium and the Netherlands for this summer - heavily motivated by your 'Coastin' thru Europe' series. Since we watched your POV of 'Ride to Happiness' everybody is just soooo hyped for that to happen. Im happy for you to having had the opportunity to visit Mack Rides - devotion and effort pays off in the end - you deserved that
This ride is absolutely perfect for almost all people, it's not the most intense, but it's crazy enough for all thrillseekers and so fun at the same time that literal families can enjoy it. Absolutely crazy how they manage to do that.
I agree, this ride is perfect. No more words needed. Wanting to do something more intense would end up being too much for sooo many people, also enthusiasts (me for example, I hate extremely intense rides), and even if some people would find it better, it still won't be so rerideable. I think, overall, it doesn't get much better than rth.
@@MrPatrickbuitwell it's not the most intense indeed and this is a good thing. I hate when intensity is too much. I love when a ride is focused on pure FUN instead of trying to break a record or be the most intense!
Really great short documentation about Ride to Happiness! There's much new information in this video about Mack Rides, that you really haven't heard anywhere else. Especially the designer speaking himself is something else!
Honestly that was the stupidest phrase I heard in this video and beyond. It's like saying "this ride is perfect, is top 5 in the world and still it doesn't make people sick! Perfection! Why don't we make a more intense version so we can make people sick?!?!" It doesn't make any sense.
Why should we wait until "people get sick" for stating that we reached the maximum? Rth for me has the perfect level of intensity and changing anything of it would only worsen it. It's purpose is making people have fun, not being sick. If they raise the intensity, I would not be ok with that. It would be one and done for me. And since the re-rideablility is one of the things I love the most of rth, it would honestly be a bad feature.

I'm curious how long Mack will continue using the sort of out-dated track design that Intamin has kind of moved on from. I mean, it works just fine but you don't get very large spans with it. The train has magnetics to slow the spin down, right? Seems a little out of control. Love these videos with the manufacturers man.
The magnets were initially an idea, but the people loved it, the client loved it, and so they aren't used. I hope that stays so :D But I get it, because with a ride like this, it's really hard to predict how the end result will feel. Like the designer said, he thought that it might be the limit, maybe too extreme, but only now that it is built they can learn how it really behaves. So I guess that magnet was there to tame it in case that it might get too extreme. I guess that's how they will move forward, because in a future ride where they push the limits even more, it allows them to tame too extreme parts, where they might have gone too far, since the magnet can be moved in and out and so the braking effect can be set exactly.
1:50 how interesting! But I don't see a double launch on that layout. It's completely different! It uses the area where the vleermuis coaster used to be, and it only goes over the water for a short bit. Can someone make sense of that layout?

And since the re-rideablility is one of the things I love the most of rth, it would honestly be a bad feature.
I don't know why the purpose of a ride would be making people sick. First of all people don't feel sick here because most of them are thrill seekers (there is always a short queue in the ride for a reason!), and plus this ride focuses on fun, only pure fun! There's no need to do something that makes people sick for making a masterpiece. And if they will do that, they shouldn't expect the ride to be liked more than this one. For me this ride is perfect and wanting to make something more intense only means wanting to over do.
@@DaanBruins yes I wasnt arguing with your comment, I'm just shocked by the affermation of that guy. "Not many people get sick so this could not be the limit" is one of the things that makes less sense ever. A good amount of people still get sick and they don't show it by vomiting or something else, they simply wouldn't want to do the ride again. Why waiting until a greater amount of people gets sick? The queue for rth is already very short, a more intense ride would make it reduced to none.
Great video. Surely epic universe must be getting one. Seen that they may be only getting something similar to cobra curse for the monsters land, that can't be correct. If they working with mack it only makes sense to get an extreme spinner to be the signature attraction in the park. They wasting big opportunity if they don't get it. You would think that if epic doesn't go for it that Sea world Orlando will probably get one ready to open around 2025 as they going to need something big/unique in order to not lose many visitors with epic opening down the street. Take it Mack didn't give anything away during filming on who they are working with for the next one.
Would be ironic thou, after Disney spending $500millon on cosmic rewind and universal spend $100m on highly theming a cobra curse clone to monsters. That Sea world see the hype for the extreme spinner and gets mack to build its next more extreme version for a price similar to ride to happiness which was only $21m and ends up with the best attraction out of the 3 for a fraction of the cost.
