speaking of dungeon crawlers, i suspect you have already but have you ever played the legend of grimrock games? 2 in particular is a fantastic first person party based old-school dungeon crawl with fun character building and exploration, cant recommend it enough. im not sure how active the community still is but theres tons of player made maps and campaigns too

Totoro would love a plastic free Master Edition of SOB with every piece of content in cardboard and half the table space.
This had to be difficult to pick just one! I'd agree that the mix of enemies and the "plug and play" nature of the design helps to really make this game a classic.
Brimstone took over my life back in 2022 and i’ve been collecting ever since!
Looking forward to playing the new Hell Train and lost tombs next month with the creator during the annual Roll-to-move online event! :)

I have painted about a half dozen of the enemy packs ... but I have never actually played the game yet! I initially bought them to use as minis for D&D, but I definitely want to get Shadows of Brimstone to the table in its own right!
The only game I have, anymore (former Warhammer Fantasy player), and the only game I need. Evergreen content, solo/party fun. It scratches the hobby/painting itch. It's just best.

I love the beastiary. I love the Weird West theme. I love the idea that it is fundamentally a dungeon crawl. I have yet to play the Frontier Town expansion but I have it and it looks fantastic.
How do you fix the combat though? I've been really interested in dungeon crawl miniatures games lately but have yet to see any Weird West ones that I could use all the pieces from SoB for.

I have probably watchedand listened several of them even two or three times indeed, while working etc LOL
I just have to stay away from this game because I would end up collecting is all and it is just too much of a commitment.

I’m aware you have a limited amount of space for your games room Daniel. How do you manage to fit all that in your room? I have condensed all cards, maps etc down but still it takes a big chunk of space. You have way more stuff than me. I have a Minecraft pledge and all the box expansions from the original SOB. Great job as always Daniel, No1 Chanel for me and DC goodness. Cheers.
Most of my SOB stuff is in storage. All of the minis and tiles are, except for the few things we're using for playing through Gates. When I play now, I basically just play Hexcrawl with the map, and with cards, and I play more like a solo RPG.
One neat thing about this game is that it has so much content and so many enemies, you can pick and choose what you want for your particular vision of the game. I really liked the idea of a Weird West with a Lovecraftian cosmic horror behind it, so I skipped all the robots and Star Trek-looking aliens. But that still was dozens of expansions remaining.
Yep! You really can tailor the game to your liking.
I love this game. I gave my Warhammer Quest to my Son and this has taken its place. I do like the fact that the enemy cards have all the info you need without looking it up in a manual. Anyway thanks for the video, always enjoy them.

The new Adventure core sets are perfect and standalone. You can choose if you prefer Vikings or Conquistadores.
We’re playing through Gates of Valhalla right now, but we just kept getting pounded so we had to take a break from it to restore morale. Great game, but perilous!

Waaaaay back when SoB was first released I saw it get summarised as a 'corridor blocker'. Meaning you just bottleneck enemies in the narrowest space possible and win. I assume these expansions made it more varied and interesting.
They did! But the combat still isn’t super dynamic.

I bought into Gates of Valhalla and picked up almost everything for Caverns of Cinder. (Going for a Fire/Ice theme.)
I ended up cancelling my all-in Lost Tombs of Khamuntet pledge. Mechanics and theme look great, but I don’t play it enough and I don’t need any more.
I like that Fire and Ice theme!
What abilities did you write on the void spiders card ? Sorry if I missed the info from another of your sob videos (even though I did watch them all).

I made up an ability called wall walk, which allows the spiders to move through all models, and they switch targets.
