Actually I thought that in order to reduce pronunciation the schwa sound tends to be dropped but it's not clear to identify a pattern that as learners facilitate US English pronunciation (remember Americans are all people in the American continent despite US people are used to appropriate the term)

@@guillermovf3134 There are several U.S. accents influenced by many different languages and regions. What we show in this video is how the schwa is dropped or heavily weakened in most of these accents and dialects, but of course you will always find exceptions. It's a big country with a lot of variety!

An important topic for language learners, but I'm afraid the title and introduction could be confusing, as this isn't a distinctive feature of American English, it's simply a feature of English. In fact, a major difference between American and British English is that American English retains the schwa in many places where British English drops it, so your video is unintentionally misleading. For example, note words like 'dictionary' or 'secretary' that have fewer syllables in British English because Americans retain a schwa dropped long ago in the UK.

OK - it's true that some African and Indian versions of English don't drop unstressed vowels, but I think few learners are focussed on those versions.

Yes, that’s why we labeled it as American pronunciation practice. We don’t teach British or any of the other Englishes.
Not every English accent drops the schwa, and it’s not just Americans who drop or retain it in the places they do.
When leading a course class or working with pronunciation students, we certainly draw out several of these specifics. But we felt this short video was not the place for it (there’s too many specifics to talk about!).

@@waiguofriendsenglish My point was just that this is a feature of all standard versions of English and more common in the UK, so the word 'American' in the title could be misleading. In any case, thanks for a comprehensive and useful video.
