    The biggest advantage of GR3 is that people will focus more on the object of photography, composition, and color, instead of missing beautiful moments while fiddling with aperture, ISO, and shutter.

    Your voice mixed with the colors you choose between chapters mixed with your photos is such a great aesthetic mix. Well done sir. I continue to get interested in this camera seeing your videos. I also admire your channel for being authentic and genuinely interested in photo/video without it being a front for other things or selling/reviewing products bowing to the algorithm.

    Your photos taken on the GRIII are among your best in my opinion! I think you're already really good with your composition even at 28mm which is really hard to do.

    At 10:17, it's very interesting to hear it coming from you because I was very indecisive between the GR III and GR IIIx, and one reason why I went with the original was the photos you have taken with it. They are beautiful and have always inspired me to take photos with a 28mm focal length. As someone who has watched most of your videos in the last year, I also humbly believe that the photos you have taken with this 28mm camera were among your very best.

    The GR family is one of the fastest camera to use with one hand. I can go from off-in-pocket to snap back to pocket and off in almost one fluid motion. I was totally surprised how fluid and intuitive-and joy-to use. I still love my RX1, but wow the GRIII was an unexpected treat and definite keeper!

    I’ve had my GRiii for 2 years and have really come to love it’s features and output. I have a range of other cameras both analogue and digital - but the GRiii and Lightroom on my phone make it the choice for travel photos. The images are good enough to have been included in exhibitions and books - and for those street compositions that need a bit of length I have a user setting based on a 50mm crop. Great videos and your images are fabulous. I’m a fan.

    28mm version is the best for street photography. 40mm is way too tight for me, especially considering the fact that you have no viewfinder. For candid snapshots on the go, 28mm is much easier to deal with. Finally, the wide field of view of 28mm is more challenging and will make yours photos more dynamic and original. Plus, you still have the possibility of digitally cropping to get a 35mm equivalent.

    Fantastic video and wonderful images to show the true power of the GR3. I’ve owned a GR3 for around a year now and only now I’m starting to see how special it is.
    I was originally shooting on a x100t and sadly I dropped it one day and broke it. I wanted the x100f but I couldn’t justify paying a rediculous price for a second hand one.
    I eventually found the GR3 and decided that it was my next step in my photography journey. It was different from what I was used to and at first I didn’t like it. But after a few months of relying on it, I began to just fall in love with it in ways I never could with the x100f.
    I highly reccomend this camera to anyone that is trying to just on the x100 series hype. You will not be disappointed by the Ricoh GR3 or the GR3x

      @@adriensanguinetti I ordered the 28mm! Ultimately, I just found that I enjoyed the 28mm perspective of photos taken by others more that the 40mm photos I saw. Feels like I’ll get more flexibility, even though it may be challenging. Now just waiting for it to come off of backorder! 😂
      I’ll definitely be watching more of your videos on settings and looking into your presets!

      That combo can also be used together with the Ricoh Image Synch App as a stealthy combo for street. I’m doing a coffee shop project where I grab a coffee, sit with a view of the pastry case and place my GR3x on the table focused toward my ‘subjects’. Then connect the GR to my iPhone and the App. Now I control the camera via the iPhone/App. To the people around me I’m just looking at my phone. It’s amazing to watch people’s body language as they choose a pastry.. and mostly I ask permission from the shop owner to be safe.

    Spending $1000 on the GR is a certain mindset that I think you can only respect if you have already spent $1000 on a GR. 😂
    I swear there is a composition style to the GR images that is very different to images from other cameras, and makes them feel unique. Maybe it's the agility of it all once it becomes an extension of your awareness. I think it permits a little more impulsivity, and with that; authentic perspective.
    I have the XF16f2.8 to try and imitate the same thing but a little wider, and it doesn't. It still feels like I'm operating or interfacing with something, rather than doing anything intuitively.
    It's why I think I would rather become an expert with the GR than any other camera. It really feels like it becomes invisible to not only subjects but the photographer too.

    Hi Adrien, I’m looking to get into photography.primarily will be for family life. Would you consider the griii to be a good starting point. My other considerations are a little bigger Fuji XT30 or Sony a6400. Any feedback would be appreciated

    • @adriensanguinetti
      @adriensanguinetti  Рік тому

      A griii can be a good starting point with the fixed lens so you don't have to think twice about what lens to choose. You just grab the camera and focus on your family moments, emotions and try capturing them. But then if you want more flexibility the Fuji or Sony you are looking for are very good starting points too!

    What I don’t understand is why it’s not possible to make a full frame one today, the lens on the original 35mm film one looks like the same size if not smaller. Full frame lenses in general today look way larger than they used to be in the film days. (I’m not certain though because I haven’t lived the film days)

    I have seen reference to a DOF setting within the SNAP distance. I am in North America. We do not appear to have a DOF option, only Aperture, which shows the distance and "green" bar on the left side of the screen. Is this a feature not available here, or was this changed in a firmware update, since there have been quite a few?

      Ahh, I found it, that is a P Mode Setting, clearly not available in Av or Tv mode... Thanks for showing me something new after 3 years of using the GR;s

    Hi, thank you for this video ! I would like to ask you about the crop mode 35mm. Did you tried it ? it's really hard to find on youtube a feedback on this topic. Thank you !

    • @adriensanguinetti
      @adriensanguinetti  10 місяців тому +1

      Yes I did, I think the 35mm crop mode is usable. The 50mm is too cropped and you loose to much resolution. But since it is just a crop you won't have the same look at a real 35mm, not the same compression and bokeh.

      Magnesium alloy does tend to feel very plasticy though, ofc I don't expect brass or anything crazy on a compact camera, but it would nice if it felt less flimsy

    I never thought photos would look so good at this focal length. I had a belief that this focal length was only good for landscape and architecture. But your photos say otherwise, one would think that this focal length is too wide for street as it does not allow for much subject isolation because of its wider angle and worse dof, but that was not the case here. Also for some reason, that I don't know, capturing such compositions are rather hard with a phone camera, even though the focal lengths are quite similar, the results captured by a real camera on most ocassion looks better. Phone cameras on the other hand require the best lighting and conditions to mimic such results. That sensor and rendering is really good for the price, I don't think any smartphone produces the same results on a more consistent basis. The closest to cameras at the moment is Vivo x100v and pixel 7/8s and that too in day time when the light is good. Once the lighting becomes bad, all of them produce worse images then a 10 year old apsc sensor, their small sensors can't keep the iso on check with all those MPs, as the AI trys to smoothen the iso, the image loses all the details.
