I just moved from a BMW 520d to the 330e, it is really impressive
I just ordered one today. My first BMW! I had to factory order it but it should arrive sometime in May. I’m so excited! Great review! 👍🏼👍🏼😄
Thank you for the compliment! I hope you really enjoy it!
I ordered one 2 days ago. Wasn't sure if they will give me a 2022 or 2023. They accepted the order as a 2022. Sales Rep says it can still change, as the factory switches over in July. I was light on the options - I only ordered the Premium and Driving Assistance packages. How do you like so far?
Since 2 weeks I drive the touring 330e…. 0.4l/100km….in an urban environment, in the western part of the Netherlands, at home and at work charging….. and on the ICE to the family 100 Miles away….that’s what this type of car is meant for..
Sounds like a great vehicle for you. I really enjoyed the car, myself.
Hey Dude, you nailed it in your video. I just bought one today!!!! I did research for a long time...over a year. After test driving it, I fell in love with it. I pick mine up few days from now. Again, I share your view about this car 100%
Really appreciate that, Andreas!
Agreed! Once an engineer, always an engineer! And Robin is a true engineer! Looks like a nice sunny day in Ann Arbor!
Great review! It’s very helpful as I am currently debating between the Model 3 standard range and the BMW 330e.
Thank you very much!
Beautiful!!!!!
I was overseas this past winter, and had to rent a car to get around. I reserved a Mazda 3. The rental company ran out of cars before I got there. Had to wait an hour, but they said they'd give me the first car that came back. It was a 2018 330e sedan. I never expected to like it as much as I did. Yes it was the old body style, but It was a blast. By my calculations, I got 35 MPG. I thought to myself, how can you have that much fun and get 35 MPG? To top it off, they gave it to me with the battery empty, so that was pure Hybrid gas mileage. Fast forward to today, and I just ordered one. Your review is spot on!
Glad to hear, thank you! And I hope your 330e treats you well.
BMW seems really good at duality...most of the M5's would be comfortable autobahn cruisers...and then turn into a track monster with the switch of a button or a few modest upgrades. The 330e sounds like a super solid car and performer!
Loved this video, great balanced review and well shot! Thank you.
I’ve ordered Alpine White based off this, however bottled the cognac and went for mocha (feels more safe with a 3month old daughter!). I’ve also gone for the Touring version 👌🏼
Glad to hear it! Hope you love it. And good thinking on interior, kids are unpredictable.
I guess it is kinda off topic but does anyone know a good place to stream newly released series online?
@Morgan Adriel flixportal :P
@Jimmy Randy thank you, I went there and it seems like a nice service =) I really appreciate it !
@Morgan Adriel happy to help xD

いい車ですよね。
Yes, it's a great car.
Will get mine at the end of March
Hi there, nice review. What about the more 300 kg of battery and motor? Do they affect the famous 50/50 BMW weight distribution ?
Thank for the compliment, Basile. It actually improves weight distribution a bit, in my opinion at least, with 51.6 percent of the weight on the rear axle, 48.4 on front.
Beautiful car, I ended up going with a model 3 instead for the faster acceleration, better software, and cheaper fuel, but BMW's handling and interior is amazing, and this car is going to be the last of its kind, since the new 3 series is literally a slightly smaller hybrid version of the new i4.
I am currently debating between the Model 3 and the 330e. Are you finding the Tesla Model 3 to have met your expectations over the 330e?
Question, if your battery charge is very low or none at all. Do you still have access to the combined 288 horsepower or does it goes down to 180?
Good question. Still 288, it functions like a hybrid, capturing brake energy and during steady state cruising to allow enough battery life for the electric motor.
@@viewsonvehicles That's great, because other people I know and myself thought the car would throttle the total horsepower down to around 180.
What package do the blue brake calipers come with? (Don’t see that option on the BMW website for the 330e model)
It’s part of the dynamic handling package.
Can you fold down the back seats to offer expanded storage when the need arises???
I believe so, yes. Sorry to not be more definitive on this, but it was a long time since I test drove this car. I did a bit of research and everything I found indicated that while the 330e has less trunk space, you can still fold down the rear seats. www.bmwusa.com/vehicles/3-series/sedan/plug-in-hybrid.html#features-and-specifications
@@viewsonvehicles Thank You.
Are the blue calipers really for a special U of M edition?
No, wrong blue. Though, I've heard worse ideas.
would you recommend this car to drive for uber and save money
Interesting question. Would it qualify for Uber Black? Then perhaps it’s worth it. But keep in mind that the best fuel economy comes from diligently charging the battery. After the pack drains, F/E isn’t significantly better than a 330i.
@@viewsonvehicles so are you saying that the bmw 330i is better than 330e for uber?
@@lolopocho3490 No, I’m just saying that you wouldn’t get the maximum benefits of the 330e unless you kept charged the battery on a regular basis. And charging the battery takes time. So it mainly depends on how much you Uber at a time. I hope that helps.
I have a 330e on order in Canada. If you want RWD only and not Xdrive, the options are severely limited here. However, where I live is flat, all the roads are straight, the only corners are typically at an intersection, so I wasn't worried about buying all of the handling equipment for pretty much no reason. Also didn't need Xdrive, as this will be a summer car only. Having not included all the options, my price before taxes was ~ $38,600 US with, coincidentally, Cognac leather - and I got it in Sunset Orange, which is a pretty striking colour for a BMW. I'm 60 miles from the border of Michigan - but I can't get in :(
I'm sorry to hear you can't pick it up, but I really hope you enjoy the car once you can. And, yeah, depends on your needs. I liked the M Sport Package and Dynamic Handling Package, but that doesn't do much for you while driving straight, totally agree.
You're an engineer, not a former engineer!!
I certainly think like one, don't I. No longer employed as an engineer in the strictest sense. But I take it as a compliment. Thank you!
@@viewsonvehicles it's a rare breed in the ranks of automotive media!
"288hp 310lb torq in a plug in hybrid those are not number youre used to hearing"
918spyder with 887 hp and 944lb: aM i A jOkE tO u
Yes, you are right. The limited edition, no longer built, $900,000 when new Porsche super car is also a plug-in hybrid that produces more power than this BMW.
Only 22 miles! I thought it was 34 miles (probably because of winter - in summer electric only miles will be in low 30's. Try Land rover plug in evoque hybrid
I’ll put Land Rover on the list. And, yeah, the cold weather hurts range.
@@viewsonvehicles Can you also please review the Mercedes A250e plugin as well?I was told that one does over 40 miles on pure electric.
That one is not available in the U.S., at least right now. But I appreciate you sending requests!
Actually I’m quite confused, in all the European reviews they say 37 miles but American reviews is 22 miles
@@AW-gj4ji, there are 2 possibilities 1) figures from old 330e or 2) smaller battery in USA. Also the EPA is more stricter than WLTP
