That libby though. Melts a broodlord with his mind, blows off a trygons head with his overcharged plasma pistol then draws his sword and charges a group of warriors. All in 1 turn. What a boss.
A few reminders for the next time you use Tyranids: -Neurothrope rerolls 1s in psychic tests (you could have rerolled one smite in turn 3 and maybe not have it denied) -the Hive Tyrant had Chameleonic Mutation, several shots would have missed it! -the Grey Knights were constantly in the Shadow in the Warp range, some powers should have failed because of the -1 -the Warriors had Lash Whips, so they could have fough back even though they were killed in cc, with good changes of killing the librarian, or the strike squad Great bat rep anyway, love your style!
Wanted to just say that this battle report from you Winters was what got me into the hobby. I watched for a couple years learning more and finding other great channels. Finally started playing at the start of 10th, thanks for bringing me to this world! Having a blast!
As the dust settles the gray knights are victorious...and then the grandmaster notices how much ammo was spent and realizes there's a perfectly good city right down the road and by the emperors will they would refill the Knights stores...Heck of a game winter think this is the first time I've seen you use Tyrnaids did well for the most part lol can't wait to see your next game
to exarctus it opens above the nearest enemy unit and hits every unit within 3"...the second part doesn't matter on if its an enemy or friendly...so the 3" part would have hit the strike squads and librarian
Spoiler: I have literally been waiting like a year to see a Grey Knight win... Thank you lol. Every other channel have completely abandoned them at this point it seems.
For many reasons. Setting aside any balance concerns, we have: -Adeptus Custodes, out-eliting them as the most elite army in the game. -Primaris Marines, also out-eliting them -Sisters of Battle, providing a more unique and brand-new alternative to the holy warriors, coming later this year -A general lack of daemons players to fight against -A lack of interesting, unique, and varied units -Some of the most poorly written lore in 40k thanks to the legacy of Matt Ward -One of, perhaps the only truly unique miniature that they possess is widely panned by the community as being ugly, and, by my own personal opinion, clashes with the overall tone of the army -Very little choice in aesthetics and narrative, not to say that it _should_ be that widely varied for this army So basically this army has almost nothing going for them anymore from a hobby standpoint. They used to have the older mysterious element going for them but now we practically know their grandmothers' maiden names at this point which doesn't really help them feel like anything more than a special Space Marine chapter. And aren't they all...
i dont mean to be off topic but does anyone know a trick to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the account password. I love any help you can give me!
@Carmelo Dash thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Cracking game! Only one gripe, a Pee-silencer, really? It sounds like something you'd use for having a slash late at night in a house with thin walls. The pee ought to be silent no? It'd just be pronounced silencer. Like (p)sychic powers, (p)sycannon or (p)sionics etc....
Don't think so. It stands for Psi as in psionic. You can find it in the grey knight codex under (& here's the give away) Psi weaponry. However regardless of whether the P is for Psychic or Psionic both of those P's are silent. So unless psycannon is pronounced Pee-sycannon rather than sycannon then a Psilencer is pronounced silencer.
it would've hurt if he had given all his grey knights vortex of doom. also, grey knights not only get +1 to psychic test, but also to deny rolls, although he didn't roll high enough to deny the horror
pretty sure the grey knight player had used all his command points by the time his libby rolled a one when overcharging the plasma, it wouldnt really have changed the outcome of the game but the librarian would be dead and the trygon would have been alive. Another great batrep , thanks Winters :)
Hey mate love the videos, just a tip on the video, look at putting your text on screen as bordered text, so white with black borders or black with white borders, it'll stand out a lot more on your videos.
i wish every battle report started with orks, even if it was just like 10 orks in a truk hauling ass right at their 1800 point army, grots falling out windows and orks screaming waaaaagh!
I would have taken that D3 Mortal wounds Perils of the warp when you rolled a 12 on "The Horror" because you had Catalyst :-\ and that's D6 mortal wounds :( 1 hour 11minutes :(
Oi, Winters! Great game as usual! I just got my first SM Scout squad and I was wondering: how did you paint the scouts of the 13th? What's their color scheme? Are they all black?
@@KanetheSpaceWolf I thought the shadows in the warp ability only affected enemy psykers casting rolls? I didn't think had anything on their deny rolls.
I used to play 40K with my dad and brothers when I was younger but fell out of it. Watching Winters SEO has made me want to start playing 8th ed. I've just started to build a FSE Tau army. It's going to be based around Farsight and the Eight supported by breacher teams in Devilfish transports, Sky Ray missile gunships and Sun Shark bombers. I want it to be an aggressive and hard-hitting up-close shooting army with lots of missiles.
The more I think of it, the more I am convinced that he penalised himself on purpose (all his oversights were not in his favour!), to give the GK a chance! It's nice to see the GK win, every now and again!
To get a cover bonus, an entire unit must be within the cover of a structure or terrain piece. Yes? In a Gray Knight shooting phase, the target tyranid unit was only partly in cover. Those bugs in cover got the +1, those exposed did not. Separate rolls were made for cover saves. Please explain....
I noticed the same thing. I love the battle reports, but having them in video form makes it really easy to find mistakes like this. The Tyranids had a lot of little rules misses like this over the game that could have really helped them.
Hey, Andrew you're right, I was fast to judge and wrote the comment right when I saw it. My only defense is that I usually root for Winters to win (unless its Paul), and I did not want him to lose that piece from the board.
can you roll for ones out of cover separately and then say the rest are in cover?????? surely you would roll all the wounds at once and the squad loses that many without the +1 to cover because the UNIT is not wholly within cover. seems a piss take doing it the way you did at 41:15
theoretically, all attacks should be resolved one by one, with fast dice rolling only being a way to speed up. according to the rules, one could not only change cover saves once all those out of cover are dead (perfectly legit) but even resolve attacks until no targets models are visible, wasting all the remaining shots, in fact
I love you reports however my I respectfully request you looking into uploading in 2560x1460 / 1440P / WQHD. It would make it look much better (if one has the screen to handle it ;) )
Sorry mate but last time I checked Grey Knights kill daemons and then fuck off so no one sees them; so why are they fighting Xenos? That is my question.
They said in the video this was an act of mercy by the Grey Knights. They attacked far outside civilian populations to draw out the synaptic lynchpin and spare the city.

Thought the same regarding the warriors, I think winters would have benefited from interrupting combat too with the cp he had.
@winters When you did adrenaline surge with the hive tyrant you did d3 damage instead of the flat 3.
grey knights get a +1 to cast so its a wash
@@kevenrand7124 true that, forgot they had the +1 to casting as well (was thinking of DtW)

Whaaaaaat?! A Grey Knight army with only ONE Grand Master Dreadknight?? This is heresy!

Now he's got to paint some pink bunny slippers onto his Grandmaster Dreadknight
Excellent batrep guys and great narrative vibe to it. This is becoming my favorite channel for 40k goodness. Keep it up! ❤️👍
"Broodlord" the cat= auto-like
Thank you for including plenty of Line of Sight blocking terrain all over the board and not just the edges!
I love your batreps keep it up!

So happy to see another great battle report. Emperor Protects!!! You are one of the Emperors finest
allmighty grey knights, smiting you down 1 damage at a time
The turn that the stormraven melted the carnifex, it should have been hitting on 5's. 3's to hit normally, neg 1 for horror, neg 1 for spore cysts.
Yup. Apparently narrative means you don't need to know the rules for you army, so many mistakes.
Sweet, winters SEO narrative battle report are awesome! Thanks for sharing.
at 56:32 vortex of doom hits all units within 3"...including there own...so both strike squads and the librarian would have been hit as well
Just came here to say that. That's a ton of wounds doged for the GK.
to exarctus it opens above the nearest enemy unit and hits every unit within 3"...the second part doesn't matter on if its an enemy or friendly...so the 3" part would have hit the strike squads and librarian
okay now I have a reminder for when I use my own gk
PEE-Silencer...It's a pun. A Psi-lencer. A psychic silencer. Ironically the P is silent...god that killed me.
Awesome batrep, nice to see fun lists and nice to see the GK have a good game
Enjoyed the battle report and narrative. Great Job!
Loved watching that guys great game, the board looked awesome winters as well gave a great backdrop to the mission. Cheers.

I'm really glad you are making a go with your other channel - may the hobby be the winner

Which other channel do you mean?
You really should convert your finished battle reports into short story novelizations. Your narrative is fantastic.
Great battle with the Master at the end, enjoyed this report.

Vortex of doom goes d6 on a 12+. So with the -1 from tyranids there shouldnt been any d6 vortex
The - 1 is cancelled out by grey Knights getting +1 as part of their rules.

Yeah narrative kind of sucks.
Abuse CP for alpha strike and guaranteed charges, game over.

Tyranids vs Grey Knights = narrative?
