Mikey - Don't despair as not every day can be as productive, and magical, as E124 day. I wish I wasn't so far away at 16°N 103°E, Thailand's rural northeast farming region, or I'd love to be there helping you folks. Being retired, I have lots of spare time on my hands. I was an F-4E Phantom fighter jet crew chief (fancy for mechanic) during the Vietnam War, and later a Private pilot and aircraft owner, and love all things aviation. :) Way back in 1943 my then young Army Air Corps 2nd Lt. dad flew B-25 missions out of Tunis, Tunisia, N. Africa during WWII. This was in Jimmy Doolittle's outfit a year after the famous Tokyo raid. My dad also flew as many different airplanes in the Air force inventory as he could get his hands on. This included the mighty P-51 Mustang (his favorite) and also many hours in the C-47 before he retired from the USAF in 1961. He always spoke highly of the old 'Gooney Bird'. I'm sure if he were still around today he would be a bit misty eyed watching your incredible crew breathe life back into your precious 'Gooney'. Soon I'll have a hilarious C-47 war story to relate to you from my dad. As always... Cheers from Thailand to you and your fine crew!
Dusty is in the wrong career Think he should get classes on swearing from Chuck and join Buffalo. Seriously. The team is fantastic. Wow. Stella painting has saved loads of money. All credit to you Mikey tired of saying it but what an achievement. As a ex Broadcast cameraman in Scotland I would have loved to film the whole process and what a shame no Broadcaster did not make this as a documentary,
You ALL are doing a fantastic job. I am an old farmer in west Kentucky restored several old tractors from the same time frame of that airplane and I have watched this from the start. I love the way you all tackle problem and solve it and move on. I'll be here till it is over. Fantastic job by all. I Understand you people. When Mike did the first walk around of that plane I thought Oh boy. Missing parts, dangling wires, open doors, and rust. The tail repair was fantastic making the parts and fitting them great work. It is all GREAT.
PLANE SAVERRSSS!!!! (echo, echo, echo...) Ha ha ha I love it! Great work everyone, good to see Steve there to help you Mikey! May be a Kick-ass learning curve for Bobby with his own upcoming channel! Cold and Wet here in Adelaide, Australia.
Last month she sat on the ramp mostly an abandoned hulk, then all these people came and in a few short weeks brought her back to life and renewed her spirit. It’s so amazing what can be done when like minded people come together, all of you people need to be very proud of what you have accomplished, amazing job
As an automotive mechanic for over 35yrs I am thoroughly impressed with the team work and dedication that is being displayed while working and getting the plane back in flying shape. It does my heart good to see the old bird coming back alive. Keep up the GREAT work.
Came here from Flight chops, so now I have a new channel to follow and a lot of catching up to do... what a bunch of great people and what a great job! Lots of thumbs ups
I'm with Flight Chops, I thought you were crazy when I saw the plane. But then I thought if anyone can do it, it'd be you and the Buffalo crew. Seriously I doubt there's anybody else left out there capable of pulling this off in such a short timeframe. Also no matter what happens you guys already have pulled off a miracle.
Not that bad a day, Mikey. Sun was shining and a lot of stuff still got done. Those fuel lines will be slow going and tedious, but they're mighty important and have to be absolutely right. Even the heavy hitters from Flight Chops are coming to see this grand old machine coming together!
Just watched the episode. AWESOME progress folks. Tailcone on. Fuel lines getting sorted and almost ready for the old girl to sing. Really looking forward to tomorrows episode. All the best. Greg.
My guess on hamberger door anyone trying to exit that door in an emergency with the prop still spinning would minced, Still can't believe stella has painted that plane by hand never again will i complain about painting doors in my house , amazing progress you should all be very proud of your selves and what your acheiving .
Great to see Steve there. Once again, the team of builders and there expertise blow me away. Friendly even though they've been at it 7 days a week. Unbelievable.
Man the momentum is incredible, so many people all busy and all achieving many things every day. Tail test fit, Buttoning down of the fuel system, Avionics blasting ahead on many fronts, The Awesome Stella making the old girl proud and tidy in her old identity, Bobby, Fred, Jay just plowing through the myriad of tasks and most importantly of all My Hamburger door sticker arrived in Gippsland, Victoria Australia yesterday :-)
Mikey, I don't have a problem with setbacks here and there. After all, it's easier to fix a plane on the ground than in the air. I'm glad you're taking all the time you need and not rushing it.
Bringing in the chow on a tall hand dolly looks as if you dropped a few bucks for essential sustenance. No one knows better than Mikey in this world there is no such thing as a free lunch.
Hi Stella. I think you should talk to Mickey about putting all the workers names on the side of the DC-3 by the passenger door. Your paint job and flags are great.
I was watching the first big run for Union Pacific's 4014 Big Boy steam engine this weekend and it's interesting to me that 4014 and DTD were both made in the same era, the first half of the 40s but they're kind of light years apart in technology.
If everyday was perfect, there would be no sense of accomplishment or reason to have a celebration. For a 75 yr old airplane that hasn't flown in 25, your team had a very good day. Have a nice flight!
Fantastic work guys, now getting up early in Chester le Street, County Durham UK, to watch the daily episode before work. You have a super gang of engineers working on her, and I am sure she will successfully do her job.Have watched since the very start, and it is getting exciting. Will make a donation to you later this week.
So first off Mickey, have to say the beard is really filling in. Apart from that, the volunteers are truly extraordinary. It would be difficult to write a script with this cast of characters in it and be seriously taken as credible. Magic and made in Canada. Thank you everyone.
Another episode that was highly enjoyable and very real world too! You sure set the bar when it comes to commitment. The whole team of volunteers, your uncle, the businesses and people who have shown such support...totally awesome to be able to watch it all. Amazing!
OH tomorrow we here the engines ROAR. that will be exciting for all. Stella when are you going to paint the ailerons and horizontal tail . and Rudder. you get those parts before they put them on the aircraft. You are doing such a fantastic job Stella.
Not bad for a Monday. The volunteers are awesome, driving long distance, hauling tow bars... can't wait for Engine runs. Please be careful, don't rush.
I've been missing commenting for a while, but that doesn't mean I haven't stopped watching the episodes. I may have cut down on my "small" summary of each episode, but I'm loving each as if it was the last. Seeing the progress on DTD is absolutely remarkable, I wish I was there to help you all out, but seeing the progress at home over these 125 episodes (a feat in itself that can't go unmentioned) is entertainment enough. I have faith you all will be able to get DTD off the ground even before June 6th at the pace you all are working. I can't understate how thankful I am for these episode, and for you all saving this formerly abandoned DC-3, showing her the love she needed and deserves. All the volunteers, Bobby, Jay, Dusty, Stella, Pierre, Ronnie, Fred, Robert, and all the others who's names I forgot (bad with names, doesn't mean I don't love y'all!), With at the time of wring this, 29 days till D-Day, I am super excited to see her go. I think I'll hop off my soap box, so I'll finish it here.
Some sorry sap gave this a thumbs down. What a knothead! Very nice work by all, what a team effort. It's such a good news story. Keep it safe everyone.
as the wise man says, "sometimes to go fast you need to slow down." there's a huge number of components, having sat almost 30 years, that must be qualified. great to watch the community working together
Does Uncle Ronny ever get excited or smile...Maybe I should send him my copy of Top Gun just for fun ! lol I'm excited for tomorrows episode! Can't wait to hear DTD come to life!!!
Flight Chops bringing some GA mojo! Learned a lot from his videos. Major surgery on a DC-3 you’re bound to encounter some complications. Hopefully the parts are available. Cool how the tail came together. Some complex angles and many involved.
Only thing I have watched for 125 episodes daily in all my life and still drooling for more - this Mikey is and we don't use this word loosely in the UK, Awesome. Any other old UK viewers expecting the Madonna with the big ******* to be mentioned anyday?
as Flight Chops said Mikey, you are a star getting all the nitty gritty stuff out to us EVERY DAY. No engine start today? No problem, things that got done today wont need fixing tomorrow, so chances are it will be a beautiful thundering engine noise that will have everyone jumping for joy.
Lots of great progress again! It will be well worth the wait knowing everything with fluids is sorted out. You have one heck of a team working now so make use and fix problems. Also you are getting quiet good at the post production effects!
I have to say Plane Savers hit the Stars yesterday!! AWSOME to see the camaraderie of all you out there and effort of all Making History Plane Savers family! Heart Moving! Great one today! Best show possible every time!!👍! A+ Mikey!
Another quality episode...Bring it!!! PS, long live Fred, the most eccentric passionate crazy guy you could meet, lecturers like this are a credit to their school!!!!! I dont think you would have any chance of completing this project anywhere else outside St Hubert with the help of staff and students of the ENA with the exception of possibly one of your own operating bases. What an experince this must be for the volunteer students of ENA which will undoubtebly give them a better grounding in their chosen field and make them better techs for the future!
Today may have been slower . But forward progress it was. . Just fantastic to watch it all come together. Waiting for tommorows episode to hear some noise. Thanks to all.
Hey Mikey You guys need to feel super proud of yourselves, even though you think this day was not as good as the day before, I think it’s amazing how much you get done every day. Some days seem slower than others but to us watching the every day episodes it’s amazing (to me anyway). DTD will be ready for June 6th no problem with the way things seem to be going. You’ll have both engines running next episode. Keep up the good work and we’re all there if not in person but in spirit. 👍🏻👌🏻✊🏻👏🏻🤞🏻
Great Episode even though you did not get the engine run, but he it will happen. We actually fitted a demo engine last Thursday and fitted the prop today.
Hello from Australia. We all have those days of building the dominoes up again. They’ll start tomorrow. How can anyone watch this and give it a thumbs 👎, let alone two! Awesome volunteer workforce paid in chicken.
Mikey, I sensed your disappointment at not firing up the engines. No problem. Still much was accomplished today. Good to see the the crew is fueled by "chicken". :)
Great work folks. All these build days lead to the old girl in the air! First time I've heard a reference to "I zikka zumba; Hold him down you Zulu warrior" since I've been in Canada!
There is so much happening around DTD today its a myriad of things all gradually coming together, the piping the wiring is taxing everyones skills but above all its working. It is good to see Steve 'Flight Chops' in residence and filming for his very own channel, filming you filming him ! I cannot but help but feel that what Plane Savers is doing will be emulated throughout the world and other such projects will manifest in the future to get vintage aircraft flying again,as we have said before this is about people and their lives too. The challenges are really starting to surface but you could not have a better place to work from and get the work done,a once sad looking aircraft is gradually starting to shine and come to life again thanks to all of this hard but rewarding work.
The first pilot to fly DTD after all of this work will appreciated how great this day was. Finding & fixing all these nasty & dangerous gremlins may seem like slow progress, but more importantly illustrates the thorough & professional repair of an aircraft that will take people into the air & return them safely to the ground. Great job folks!
Great episode, tomorrow will be even better. With the Roar of the engines. Got notice that my Stella/hamburger door t-shirt and magnets shipped. Woo!!!
Mikey, I love your Plane Saver series, its great to see the DC 3 flying, congratulations to all people that helped you reach your goal. Cant wait for season two. Steve, Western Australia.
Hi Mikey, You all are making such tremendous progress. I am so amazed at everyone’s dedication. When the 3 takes to the sky, the reflection painted on the radar screen at ATC isn’t just a transponder squak, it is Stella’s beautiful paint job which truly sparkles with her pride for all of your endeavors. Just remember that Stella is your heartbeat! Cheers from Mickey in Florida
No such thing as a bad day when you have a wonderful crew like you do. Man... I want a T-Shirt like Uncle Ronnie was wearing! Really a great design there. Keep up the great work... There really is "Life" in ol' DTD! Can't wait to hear her run!! Still hope to see you (and hopefully some of your crew) at Oshkosh!
There's no way i could leave without seeing those engines roar to life.... Awesome Father /Son team right there.....This great old bird just seems to be sitting prouder in the hanger now ... she has shed her age and has a real presence again......so much love being put into every part of this project and we all know love is what really keeps'em in the air. Tres bien!
Nice episode. Nice to see FlightChops, too. I follow his channel as well. It may not have been as successful a day today as it was yesterday...but with you and FlightChops, it is sort of a two-for-one for me. Silly bit...I initially type "Flight Chips"...would that be a new fast food, or a cop program with you and him flying open-cockpit biplanes patrolling the Canadian Autobaun, Highway 401 in Ontario! LOL!!
We all thought that he was crazy from the start Flightchops but i've been glued to youtube everyday... I can't afford to do more than buy a shirt but at least I watch the ads with very video...so cool to see a real warbird get back to the skies....!!!!
Watching Plane Savers for breakfast 😊 Amazing how you all push through, as it's been non stop since you arrived at the location + delivering episodes every day. Great job !! Can't wait to see the engines running......
dtd has a voice ! mmm i want some more tlc before i start my engines also dtd should come with a health warning its infectious once bitten you can not stop working on her !
Hi Mickey and team. What a fantastic job you are all doing. So inspirational, to see DTD coming alive. Really looking forward to the engine runs, and what a great UA-cam episode yesterday. Wishing all the best. Regards Paul, Canberra Australia 🇦🇺🇨🇦
Bobby I have never missed an episode . Most importantly you have never missed one either. I trained my students on “Live” F/A-18s and F-15s. Which were on armed egress systems. Never injured a student, most importantly, never lost a pilot 👨✈️. The Boeing Guy.
Hey guys from Dundalk ireland (northeast) !!! I love your show and think that what your doing in amazing!!! Preserving and saving a piece your your nations history and defense!!!
Hey Mikey, hey Flight Chops! Too bad you couldn’t run today but better to find and fix things methodically. Jay and Dustin are a great team too. Actually everyone working on DTD is awesome! Big day tomorrow, hold on to your hats boys!
Just more great work from a great team Mikey. Not as spectacular as yesterdays progress, but still good progress just the same. Congratulations to the whole team, you are all awesome, and thank you Mike for the huge effort that you are making with all the filming and editing every day. Your work shines just as brightly as everyone elses, and is a real treat to watch and keeps us up with all the progress.
The Plane Savers game everyone can play "Where's Dusty?" Great to see the continuing progress and a visit fro Flight Chops. Hello from an autumn chilly Canberra Australia.
Fingers crossed there’s no backfires and bent push rods during the first start! Tell all the crew to keep up the great work! I’m in goosebay with a broken helicopter 🙄 AOG 🤯
Another Awesome day of Progress... Great to see Steve visit, and I agree Mikey you are an inspiration Mate. An amazing chance for all the ENA students and teachers ,A big thank you to all them for there work. Cheers to Bobby too , can't wait to see you back working on the Tutor
If this was a bad day then your good day's are probably mega awesome because even in this video i've seen a lot of work done!!! She's gonna look like new when she get's out of that hangar!!
Mikey - Don't despair as not every day can be as productive, and magical, as E124 day. I wish I wasn't so far away at 16°N 103°E, Thailand's rural northeast farming region, or I'd love to be there helping you folks. Being retired, I have lots of spare time on my hands. John Mills Welcome aboard to our friend from the great state of Kentucky.
PLANE SAVERS is not just a project, it"s a PHENOMENON!

The amount of achievements the team has done since the first day working on the plane is beyond believable.
Here from Flight Chops. Been following Buffalo for years. Good to see you again, Mikey. PS I'm from Ontario but live in Sweden now.
Engine run today , Benoit had a live stream on Facebook . Very exciting to hear her purr !!!

Greg.
My guess on hamberger door anyone trying to exit that door in an emergency with the prop still spinning would minced,

Every day progress is being made. Some days may not be as much, but progress just the same.
Something to be proud of !
Man the momentum is incredible, so many people all busy and all achieving many things every day.

Awesome, well said comment. 🍻
Mikey,
I don't have a problem with setbacks here and there. After all, it's easier to fix a plane on the ground than in the air. I'm glad you're taking all the time you need and not rushing it.
Boy, that was a fast "I loved it"! Less than a minute from when I posted it. :-)
Bringing in the chow on a tall hand dolly looks as if you dropped a few bucks for essential sustenance. No one knows better than Mikey in this world there is no such thing as a free lunch.
Think of savings on labor. Meal is a pittance comparatively.you know the saying I'd rather clothe you than feed you.
I'm not sure I've seen a bad episode, 125 well waited for history in the making episodes. Cheers everyone for a solid day on DTD🍻 Until tomorrow 👍
Hi Stella. I think you should talk to Mickey about putting all the workers names on the side of the DC-3 by the passenger door. Your paint job and flags are great.
As Stella said..."it's amazing"...the channel gets better and better each episode...cheers everyone...brilliant show Mikey 👍

there is a paradox here 4041 probabally hauled the parts or material to build dtd
Still a great episode!!! The tail cone looks awesome, great work everyone! Looking forward to tomorrow's "Fun Day!!!" Haha
So first off Mickey, have to say the beard is really filling in. Apart from that, the volunteers are truly extraordinary. It would be difficult to write a script with this cast of characters in it and be seriously taken as credible. Magic and made in Canada. Thank you everyone.
They should make a movie out of these episodes
Another episode that was highly enjoyable and very real world too! You sure set the bar when it comes to commitment. The whole team of volunteers, your uncle, the businesses and people who have shown such support...totally awesome to be able to watch it all. Amazing!
125 daily episodes, with no stop! You rock Mikey!
Hey Mikey,
Everyday is a successful day! No worries. Tomorrow will bring the sounds of history to our ears! What a thrill! Three thumbs up!

Some sorry sap gave this a thumbs down. What a knothead! Very nice work by all, what a team effort. It's such a good news story. Keep it safe everyone.
What is needed is a hack which tracks the MAC addresses of the trolls and bricks their devices.
Someone needs to get Ronny Caddyshack 2
as the wise man says, "sometimes to go fast you need to slow down." there's a huge number of components, having sat almost 30 years, that must be qualified. great to watch the community working together
👍nice!
Does Uncle Ronny ever get excited or smile...Maybe I should send him my copy of Top Gun just for fun ! lol I'm excited for tomorrows episode! Can't wait to hear DTD come to life!!!
Move over # 1, here comes Mikey, the marathon man of youtube!

Huge amount of work to resurrect that WWII war bird. You guys are getting it done....nice.
Great Job Everyone! Great Progress.

Hey every step forward is progress, every step backwards will help to see everything working safely. You don't want to damage anything through haste
125 episodes none stop, that in its self is amazing. Keep pushing guys, it’s very nearly ‘smoke’ time.
Great Episode even though you did not get the engine run, but he it will happen. We actually fitted a demo engine last Thursday
and fitted the prop today.
Mikey, That fabrication work on the tail section is nothing short of awesome! Please pass along my compliments to the 'tail team'.
So true about being awesome! Nice comment !
Hello from Australia. We all have those days of building the dominoes up again. They’ll start tomorrow.
How can anyone watch this and give it a thumbs 👎, let alone two!
Awesome volunteer workforce paid in chicken.
Great job so far, the engine run will come! Don't rush it!
Greetings from north of Mirabel (St Jerome) and enjoying all 125 episodes religiously.Keep those lines plugged and keep your stick on the ice.
Rene Vandenborre Hey, St-Jerome, this is Laval calling. What are you waiting for. Get down here at the airport and fill your boots.
Sorry can't as I have no car.@@bobbydouzepis8260

Great job folks!
So awesome to see flight chops there, a perfect combo of two of my fav UA-cam channels.
so fortunate to have that Hanger space .. How many volunteers have worked on this DC 3 to date ???😉
Hi Mikey,
You all are making such tremendous progress.
Tres bien!
I like the painstaking attention to detail-making sure it's done correct and not rushing the task-Great Mechanics
Jay and Dusty are all over the engines making everything perfect. Good morning Bobby:).. The excitement is growing..:)
Russell Brooker Good morning to you sir.
You have Dusty Clones working everywhere.
LOL!!
Next sunrise: R1830s make propellers go spiny spin!
Waiting for engine start up tomorrow. Happy to see the arrival of FlightChops waiting to see his video as well.
Cheers Mikey couldn't go to sleep until you posted . Kev west of Ireland
👍👍👍👍👍
Beards are taking over (except for Stella and curiously Ronnie)!!
Make DTD smile!
Do it with painters tape. See if you like it.
We all thought that he was crazy from the start Flightchops but i've been glued to youtube everyday... I can't afford to do more than buy a shirt but at least I watch the ads with very video...so cool to see a real warbird get back to the skies....!!!!
You have a remarkable crew Mikey!!! It is looking great!! Keep doing what you do!!!!
Dusty and his twin brothers, Dusty and Dusty. ...... Your editing is fine.
Jay and wife did a fine job on that young man!

The Boeing Guy.
drenk7 Awesome to see a former instructor back again. Welcome back with us Boeing guy.

Colin Ford Hello to our friend from Canberra. Stay warm now. Our warm weather just arrived.
Fingers crossed there’s no backfires and bent push rods during the first start! Tell all the crew to keep up the great work! I’m in goosebay with a broken helicopter 🙄 AOG 🤯
