I was there, far youn ger than the utter twits commenting probably. It was utterly superb! The music lives on and Marcus Bonfanti is brilliant. You missed out. Period. Nene Valley is the best festival in an age just like TYA are the best band in an age.
The original Hear Me Calling was inspired by Canned Heat. That’s why Alvin sang in a soft high voice for it. the vocals here have a completely different vibe, more like Slade’s version. killer riff.⚡️❤️🎸
So great to hear Chick solo. That's something he rarely got to do with the original lineup, not to mention his playing was inaudible so much of the time. I'm not a fan of Marcus' singing, but he's a terrific guitar player. Please, it's utterly idiotic to compare anyone to Alvin. There is no comparison. Alvin was unique, and incomparable. Let's agree to leave it at that.
to have this explained, seriously? There were (and still are) four people ion TYA. Alvin was an incredible guitarist but sadly he passed away, although he had already left the band long before that. However TYA were a BAND, not "Alvin and the other guys". They wrote together, the played together, they recorded together, they toured together. Two of those original members (that did NOT quit the band) are still performing. This is Ten Years After. Just like countless other bands whose line-up changed.
You misunderstood my comment John Entwistle said Pete writes good songs but they are not who songs without the rest of us. I think Rick, Chick and Leo are great and I know they are playing in the video. I have seen tya twice and Alvin solo 3 times. love them all. to me it is not tya without all of them and that is not rubbish @@trevorcotterell3055

Fair enough. I'll agree they are not the same - I saw them a good few times with Alvin Lee and a few times since. But for me it's the music that counts, however great a guitarist he was. Those that chose the remain are carrying the torch and whilst Marcus has a different style, that doesn't dimish the music. Colin is a sh*t hot bass player too.
FFS. How many times do I have to say this. It is NOT a cover band. It is Ten Years After, as currently constituted, featuring 50% of the original members. If every band that changed a member then is a cover band, there won't be many left... most of Deep Purple and The Rolling Stones and The Beatles would be covers by that definition!
I guess you weren't there. Why not just not watch it then? People like you make me sick. Much as I loved them with Alvin (and I saw him after he chose to leave TYA) the band have moved on. It's live. It may not be not for not identical. If you want that, play the CD. This is the band there is now, still with Chick and Ric and they were superb, as many others have said.
@@trevorcotterell3055Alvin Lee stopped touring and playing the game with the industry because he wanted to make music, not run around. Jeff Beck and Robin Trower has the same mindset

Miss you ALVIN and LEO.

Without Rick Chick and Leo there is no Ten Years After. Without Alvin its just a cover band.
What rubbish are you spouting? Both Rick and Chick are there, playing!

They are TYA!! You trolls.

Es fehlt einfach Alvin Lee die Stimme und Gitarre klangen besser
… more appropriately: 20 years after
Sorry this is not ten years after !!!
Errr... then who the hell is it?
Yen herds later that’s not ten years after just another cover band

This is not TYA for me ... will you excuse me 👎

Awesome. Best Rock festival in ages! TYA kicking out of the park. A privilege to see them play.
