This is such a brilliant TBR! Thank you so much for the mention and for helping spread the word about our event ❤ _Fingersmith_ has been on my TBR for ages, and _Of Fire and Stars_ was so close to making my TBR for this week. Same for _The Seafarer's Kiss_ ! Even though I won't be reading it for the event, _Girls of Paper and Fire_ is definitely building up high expectations for me. So many great selections here. Good luck with your TBR, and I can't wait to hear your thoughts on any of these! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
@@JeansThoughts you will love it, her writing is like Leigh bardugo or Laini taylor, its so descriptive but in an amazing way. Natasha is amazing at forming these characters and giving them life
I definitely need to read Girls of Paper and Fire, it sounds so good! Everyone's loving it too! Intrigued to see how your lil readathon goes, good luck 😊
Lovely TBR! I’d not heard of a couple of these which is ace to pick up some new reads and nice you’ve added some poetry in there! Giovanni’s room is one I want to get to but never got. It’s on my shelf whispering out to me - why haven’t you read me yet?
I've read both Of Fire and Stars and Girls of Paper and Fire and really enjoyed both! I personally preferred GOPAF but they both have really wonderful romances. Good luck with the readathon and I hope you enjoy what you read!
I’d never heard of this readathon either. How brilliant! Oh my goodness you have such a treat coming with Fingersmith. Definitely recommend picking that back up. Believe me that once you get to the mid point you won’t want to put it down. 😊 looking forward to your thoughts about the lesbian high fantasies. They sound like something right up my street.
ive read the passion and i loved it!! it was a couple years ago so the details are a little hazy but it was so mystical an fun and corporeal!!! a classic winterson fairy tale honestly. lots of hearts, webbed feet, crossdressing, water!!! i hope you get to it! good luck with the readathon xx
Great to find a queerlit readathon! The Passion is so good & a lot of fun. I think it'd make a great December read, but of course, as you can already tell from starting it, Fingersmith is also amazing. One of my favourite queer lit books is called Blue Boy by Rakesh Satyal - about a sweet boy who secretly believes he's a reincarnation of Krishna.
I’m so glad you made this video because I hadn’t heard of this readathon either! All of these books sound really good (and most of them have now been added to my TBR) but I think I’ll try to pick up Fingersmith, it sounds exactly like my kind of book
i'm very excited for girls of paper and fire! my mums are big fans of sarah waters, but i haven't gotten around to reading any of her work yet. i'll have to look into some of those high fantasy novels as well.... i'm excited to hear what you think when you've read them!
Giovanni's Room is devastating but beautiful! You NEED to read that one during the week, so do prioritize it! I'll do my best to participate as well. Great video and great earrings 😊
There are two authors I would recommend for queer lit, one is Kameron Hurley and the other is N.K Jemisin ;) (several of their books include queer relationships, I would recommend the 5th season and mirror empire personally)
I had no idea N.K.Jemisin's books contained queer characters. I'd thought about picking up 5th Season as my library have it but now you've convinced me!
@@JeansThoughts yes Indeed N.K. Jemisin has some great lgbt characters and themes woven into the Fifth Season. I would highly recommend. Its truly one of those books where the hype is well deserved :)
Fingersmith is one of the best books you'll ever read! SO MANY MIND-BLOWING TWISTS! I highly recommend prioritising :) Not a spoiler but yes, it is lesbian. All Sarah Waters' novels are lesbian except for The Little Stranger. Sarah Waters' novels Affinity, The Night Watch and Tipping The Velvet are amazing too!
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is so amazingly good. It’s set in old Hollywood with all the glamour and strategy and manipulation and, just read it. My favourite book of this year.
I'm so glad you found us! You don't need to fulfill all the challenges, because that is silly intense, but I am so glad you are dedicating next week to Queer Lit.
Me too! I'm so excited to have a queer reading week and with following the readathon on twitter - I already feel like I'm getting so many more amazing recommendations. Thanks so much for organising the readathon!
Fingersmith is one of my all-time faves, I hope you enjoy it! I also really enjoyed Of Fire and Stars - it's not perfect but seeing F/F romance in YA fantasy was so wonderful for me :)
Planning to take part in this Readathon as well, any opportunity to read my queer lit! Just started Girls of paper and fire and want to get to , A study in honour; under the udala trees; Crimson and graphic novel Moonstruck 😀🌈🌈😀❤️
I haven't read Fingersmith but there is a FANTASTIC Korean adaptation of it! Super creepy and gay! I do need to read some Sarah Waters soon tho ... I have Giovanni's Room on the reading list for my Queer Lit module next semester so will be reading that soon 😇
I was just about to recommend the Tiger’s Daughter by K Arsenault Rivera. I just found it while browsing my library. I’m so excited to pick it up. An lgbtq fantasy written by a latinx yes please
Oh i loved the tiger's daughter🖤 also i really wanna read the girls of paper and fire but i want to know is it good enough to spend money on it, so can't wait to see what you think about it
I followed Cats video to Perpetual Pages video, its like booktube inception 😁 For the month of December Im gonna be reading some of my favourite books of the year and one of those is The Song of Achilles.
Oh, and also, have you read "Tell the wolves I'm home" by Carol Rifka Brunt? It is a stunning coming of age novel featuring a hidden long term relationship between two men set during the aids-panic in the 80's. Can't recommend ut enough ❤️

I recently read The Tiger's Daughter and absolutely loved it. This was such a great idea. Good luck with your reading.

Fingersmith. One of my all time favorites.
Thanks for this post because this is also the first time I heard of this readathon. Gonna join.

I read Fingersmith earlier this year and it was fantastic! Also Giovanni's room is great and Of Fire and Stars is such a refreshing fantasy!
Ah that's great to hear, you've got me pumped for all three ^_^
I just finished Fingersmith last night. I loved it. It was my first Sarah Waters, and it won’t be my last.
It must be good then ;)
I loved The Passion. It was the first one of her novels I read, way back when I was in college.

@@JeansThoughts You're very welcome. Rogan and I plan to do it every June and December for the foreseeable future, with guest hosts each round 😄📚🏳️🌈
This makes me so happy!
Fingersmith is one of my all-time faves, I hope you enjoy it! I also really enjoyed Of Fire and Stars - it's not perfect but seeing F/F romance in YA fantasy was so wonderful for me :)
I've started reading Flying Tips For Flightless Birds which I'm pretty sure has queer rep, so glad the timing worked out on that one
Planning to take part in this Readathon as well, any opportunity to read my queer lit! Just started Girls of paper and fire and want to get to , A study in honour; under the udala trees; Crimson and graphic novel Moonstruck 😀🌈🌈😀❤️
Yeah I've just started Girls of Paper and Fire as well! Shh a day early aha.
Sneaking in there early too, it's excellent so far! Love to here what you think when you are done

It's from Zara :D

You should add Stone Butch Blues by Leslie Feinberg
I didn’t know about this either! I don’t own a lot of lgbt books and the ones I do I think I’ve read so a trip to the library might be in order!
When in doubt, go to the library!
I followed Cats video to Perpetual Pages video, its like booktube inception 😁
For the month of December Im gonna be reading some of my favourite books of the year and one of those is The Song of Achilles.
That's a good book, and perfect (re)read for Queer Lit Readathon.
..Uncertain whether Jackie Kay's '..Trumpet!' echoes this genre or not.. But it wouldn't be put down!!
