Honestly it seems like people want a game based in the OG SAO that follows a story based around an OC. EVERYONE liked Fatal Bullet for that exact reason. Or since Kirito had this ability, make it so we can carry over our data from Fatal Bullet
I want a game like SAO: Integral Factor, where we play as an OC exploring and climbing our way through the world of Aincrad. Bonus points if it has multiplayer features! Heck, I'd still play it even if it's a gacha game, as long as it has the same level of quality as Genshin.
Exactly. I haven’t bought any further games because I only wanted to play as my OC in SAO. It’s so bizarre how they keep forcing SAO players to play as Kirito, even though the clear hook of this series is being yourself in a virtual world.
Integral Factor was surprisingly good for mobile. I wish they remade it for consol/PC. Fatal Bullet was everything you could want out of an online game without having to play with other people complaining about your build.

This is why I believe a character creator would have been better, I saw a video title that said character creator and I was excited for that, but I think this is what will most likely happen. Everyone will choose kirito; hell I only like how kirito looks(and i hate his character btw) but the other characters just look so bland. Wish they had put eugene which would be cool.

I think Fatal Bullet doesn't need any sequels personally. It ended well and the DLCs were alright. I'd rather have the same kind of story (featuring a custom protagonist) but with more focus on original characters taking place in a different game setting. Being forced into getting a thumbs-up from Kirito a good handful of times, who was an objectively bad companion in FB due to hilariously dumb and frail AI partners, was always annoying to me. I'm excited for this game since I won't be forced to be mr. cardboard good guy with a harem AND an unhealthy delusion towards VR. I just want to have my own avatar gal instead of a weird shut-in MC energy Japanese boy.

I'm glad a lot of people are kind of like my thought process. A lot of the games look good but I wish they would have kept going with the direction they had in fatal bullet. Making your own main character and support character while getting to meet the rest of the actual story cast was awesome.
I rather prefer a SAO game that's not about Kirito and his harem. It's time for side stories with the characters we create

Bandai...rather than make ANOTHER Sword Art Online game why not just let CyberConnect2 continue the Dot Hack series like fr.
Most likely enough money behind the franchise to actually make it still viable for whoever owns that ip, to keep hiring Bandai to keep making these Sao games to keep this particular franchise in IP in the eyes of consumers. So they basically don't forget about it. Still waiting for the anime to have a fifth season. So I guess they're just trying to keep it in the eye of the consumer. Obviously there's still enough interest in money behind the IP that they keep throwing these games in our faces.

Hopefully if this one does well (crossplay should help its lifetime a lot) then they may listen and actually deliver on that. I don't expect great writing at all from them but I'll settle for making a cool avatar of my own and having my fun instead of having the overflowing MC energy of Kirito where his only unique trait beyond being a techy "good guy" is an unhealthy leaning towards VR over the real world 😂

I know some might of thought it wasn't really that goodt but i wished theyed do like they did with fatal bullet so we can remake our characters and bring our ai girl fron the game with us
What I'd want the most is a genuine, non story driven, SAO experience that's massively multi-player. I'm surprised they haven't tried making the actual game yet. Does anyone know why??
And when I say non story driven, I just mean it wouldn't follow the anime story. It could have quest lines, but I'd want it to be like an actual MMO.
I also kinda wish it was the hybrid SAO/ALO game.

Well with sparking zero and my used to be unsureness of this game the second half sold me love storys and when cosmetics reflect in the story
Looks fun, but man I don't think this will hold even semi-casual gamers attention for long. Looks like something you play once, each quest, then quit cause there's just nothing to do. Nothing of worth to chase.

This game is kind of like Granblue Fantasy Relink and i love it. I didnt rlly play much Fatal Bullet, but I'll be playing this one a lot. It looks a lot of fun
Having the option to have a custom character, ontop of being able to play as one of the origional characters I thnk would have broadened the players wanting to buy the game (me being one of them).
But it is what it is, so no hate. I hope folks that enjoy the series can do so.

Mhm, they should release a .hack game that has character creation, companion creation and deep customization system just like SAO Fatal Bullet. There is a .hack game on Playstation 2 with character creation but honestly the game is more like a person who is told how MMO is but never played a MMO in their life made a fan video game about .hack, it was that bad lol.
That's the dream. Grew up playing dotHack and then spent my teen years in MMORPGs but always hoped for an actual MMO based on it to release but a good single-player experience with a custom character of my class choice would be just as good. I'd go Steamgunner myself or maybe use grimoires. Haseo never had enough OOMPH with his spells.

Play Fatal Bullet. You can create your character + can create your own companion + tons of customization. I really recommend it a lot whether if you like the anime or not. I loved it way before I even heard it's video game of an anime lol. After watching anime I appreciated how the game is like the first anime in the aspect of people chasing secret events and items.

Fatal Bullet is a good game to start with as this is the same team
the story is also short enough that you could feasibly complete it by the time of release
Alicization Lycoris I feel is a better game overall but it's also really freakin massive all in all
Last Recollection is not a game to play until you complete Alicization Lycoris AND IT'S DLCS so just focus on Fatal Bullet to get a feel for things
It gets worse every time they make this game. Why can't they just make the actual SAO world with free roam anywhere, online play (action mmorpg) and let us create our own characters with a story line that doesn't have to interact with every single character on the show and just let us do quest? This game has always had great potential but time and time after again it's just boring with too many cutscenes

I hope they made a system for talents unluck for the charchters for example Kirito 2 Handed sword should be a very hard talent to unlock by a doing questline and kill hard bosses to achive the talent, if they make that every charcher is fully opened for everyone it's going to be boring in someway, but if not everyone got the 2 Handed sword on Kirito it will make it excetiing to grind and farm to achive it, Kirito 2 Handed sword is just an example for the other charchters.

for the love of my patience DO NOT turn enemies into hp sponges its legit the only thing I hated about the last two SAO games I found it annoying and would rather just avoid everything and only kill what I had to so I didn't have to sit there for 5 mins killing one enemy seriously giving rank 10 enemies over 200k hp then having me who's at least 10 ranks above them only do like 600 a hit unless it was a 1k crit was the biggest flaw ever!
I was in beta and I can say even in the first tutorial battle enemies were hp sponges when the task was just "just kill the enemies" lol. Not to mention enemies spam a lot. One enemy takes like 5 minute to kill so do the math. :DDD

It would be way too taxing for a full crossplay game to allow for the kind of customization Fatal Bullet did with 20 characters. Let's just hope we get another title like it eventually. Blue Protocol slowly decayed for Bandai Namco Entertainment. Maybe it was worth it? Depends on games like this (And not Gundam Evolution).
I excited for this game actually. I played Fantasy Relink before and after the story I was too bored of those tight/small co-op quests. So bored that I just gave it up. Pity because I was really hyped for that one before lunch.
Let's see if this one can be better in terms of fun replay value.
I have always wanted to play these games because the combat genuinely looks fun but I always have issues being forced to play as premade characters in online modes. :(

Character customization would break the game. It's already crossplay with the bugs and maintenance that entails so asking for Fatal Bullet style creation is too much for 20 characters in one map for them. Better pushing it to Bandai to give us a new title featuring that instead of expecting it here.

I am excited for the game but when will they stop making us play as Kirito and his group? Fatal Bullet was so popular cause you got to make your own character and play alongside Kirito and the whole gang. Also, I know it will never happen but would love to see English voice acting.
They'll never stop forcing them into every title because their marketing and development teams are shallow and unwilling to put in the effort to make more than a handful of original characters despite having so many options for the setting and the like. I get what you mean though, Kirito is creepy imo and I'd prefer to just have them as cameos or maybe feature more in a post-game section than being all up in your face from the start.
English VA is more important imo, it just doesn’t hit the same. I’d like to hear the voices of the characters that I’ve known in the language that I know and have watched the show in. Otherwise, like I’ve been doing, is just skipping the dialogue.

highly concerned about the available skills, each character has only 3 skills in the beta and no options to choose from, if there are not other skills this game is doomed, since many characters has just straight really bad skills

I'm hoping that's the point of pressing the crossplay and simultaneous release dates. Niche titles that lean on online gameplay so heavily die quickly but if you pool together the ones who do enjoy the game across networks you'll end up with at least a "cult classic" audience to keep it alive. There will be microtransactions in the game with a shop, as well as a battle pass if this leak was real. But none of it is gonna be mandatory. It's just gonna be cosmectics, and even if we see in the trailer that some outfits unlocks different skills, it won't change the game battle. Plus it's full coop, no PVP, so there is no "Pay to Win" typeshit since everyone wins in the end

Though Granblue looks to be a bit more polished this game has more of an Arcady feel to it
