    I’d probably add a small Bic lighter and Duct Tape. Also, consider changing the Micra for a Leatherman PS4 or Skeletool to get pliers. A water purification tablet weighs almost nothing and could come in really handy. I’d also suggest the Gerber Prybrid to replace the utility knife for just a tiny more weight and adds a pry bar. Finally, I’d add a bandanna. Super light and a lot of uses.

    • @UrbanSurvivor

      Thanks for the great ideas! I've heard a lot of great things about the prybrid ill probably pick one up one of these days and rotate it into the edc.

    Just me
    I'd pair that with a decent water
    bottle with known pure water.
    You need water way more than
    food, and having even a small
    supply beforehand keeps unseen
    unknown contaminants out of
    your body

    Fanny packs are pretty much a civilian version of minimalist military battle belt kit, enough to get you to more equipment and more importantly they're lightweight and compact 😁 well done

    I think similar feedback was given already... but I’d add a Mylar blanket; lighter; and something for better water management (purification tabs or sawyer mini). You’ll likely need to lose one or two food items but I’d make that trade. Aside from that well thought out kit!!

    • @UrbanSurvivor
      @UrbanSurvivor  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah those are really great suggestions! Thanks for your feedback. The kit is so jam packed that I would most likely need to get rid of a few things to make room. 1L is not much space to play around with.

      @@UrbanSurvivor i would take out one of the fruit pouches and hemp seed bar to make more room, realistically you don't need tons of calories for a 10-15 mile walk, swap out the Ferro rod for a lighter, add the mylar blanket and maybe some water purification tabs and a drink packet for electrolytes. Love the system

    I like fanny pack systems, most people don’t give a fanny pack any thought especially a light colored one. It’s a good size really good loadout, if you could find a small headlamp to add to your system that would help out a lot.

    Hello . I think that they have their place and can be an option for some. Useful items with this kit. Maybe a baggy for the battery bank and cable to keep it dry yet still able to charge and use the smart phone in like a down pour or heavy rain. Maybe have say 5 ft ish of paracord for something like holding that 1L bag for example. Just something to keep in mind if need be. The lid from that sauce , some tape and the flashlight can be combined to form an improvised yellow "glow stick " like source All the best from CR.

    I like this setup though I wear this type of bag cross body. A poncho is always a great addition (it rains here more often than not so I carry a heavier duty one it's saved my butt many times) I'd maybe include a bit of cordage to tie it off around the waist and keep it from flapping around if there's a bit of wind with the rain too.
    What kind of breakdown cash have you gone with for your $100 notes wise?

    • @UrbanSurvivor
      @UrbanSurvivor  3 роки тому

      Yeah some cordage is a great idea! I've just got a few $10s and the rest $20s but it would probably be smart to add some $5s and a few $1s as well.

    Id also add a lighter. Mini bic would be the best i think. Cause if you meed a fire you probably need it quick. Also its an extra source of light.
    Id also add some cordage of some kind. Not a lot. But enough for whatever you think you need. Fir example those ponchos have a habit of Marilyn Monroe-ing in the wind so i tend to tie them down with a paracord belt.
    Duct tape and zip ties for repairs...or other things.

    I know this video is aged a bit; but it has aged well.
    A lot of these certain colors of these bags self for several hundreds of dollars…. These are highly sought after in the “elite” hyper-light backpacking crews. You ever see them on the internet or on TV; you wont see one without one of these 1L.
    Also, I have never ever liked fanny packs; except when I was a kid in the 90’s; but, ever since I found these which was about since 2015-2016; I have bought them in all of my favorite colors and even doubles of the black; if I get out of bed; It goes on. I go into bed; it comes off…. It’s my first-line gear!

    bic lighter would be better than ferro rod. you could put some tinder in with it. i'd hide the money. people are stupid and would kill you for it. put a little mole skin in your first aid. blisters happen even to seasoned hikers. do you have comfy shoes instead of work shoes to change into to get home? do you have a hat and sunglasses? a little pry bar, why? i don't understand why people carry little pry bars, they don't have enough leverage to open anything big. have you tried to use it on nuts and bolts? when are you going to have to use it in a survival situation? why a whistle? is someone going to come to you in a survival situation or are they all trying to get home and survive too?
    for urban survival, think of 9/11. what did those people need? how far did they walk? what did they have time to grab before they were running out of their offices? are you going to be helping anyone else?

    honestly i think this entire kit is mostly junk. Nothing here would survive a real survival situation. just becasue you are walking home does not mean it is a survival situation. a lot of these items should have more robust useful versions in your everyday carry. Meaning you do not leave the house without them on your person. Not in a fanny pack that even under normal situations would make you the ridicule of society. in my on body everyday carry i can last 24 to 48 hours just becasue it is very hard to carry food on your person which is the only use I can think of for this type of fanny pack. final thoughts are this is a kit to waste money and give people a false sense of preparedness. No one that has actually been taught survival or been in a situation would suggest this junk.
