I promised this a while ago by implying it's coming soon. So here it is. Ambrose in a way kinda fell down the card during his run. He was number 1 the week of the Draft but after that, a couple of things overshadowed him. What did you think of Dean Ambrose' title reign?
I think they waited too long to give Ambrose the title.
I think it was meh
I love your content. you should make a video about Jon Moxley best wrestler in 2020 or his reign as AEW World Champ.
I remember enjoying this title reign. I liked who Dean beat for it, retained it against, and lost it too. Good start, middle, and ending.
*I honestly feel like Ambrose should’ve won the title at ‘Mania 32 against Triple H. After all he was the hottest babyface during that time period and the fans preferred him over Roman but WWE stuck to their collars with Roman at the expense of holding Ambrose back. SMH.*
its crazy that 2016 wwe never continued the big leap we thought they had. this was honestly its last good year
2017 from the beginning up to WM33 was pretty good, that AJ Styles vs John Cena match at that year's Royal Rumble was a classic.
Everything in 2016 lined up perfectly
@@harrish619 2016 was better trust me
@@chimeratcg07 And Bray winning the WWE title
@@bigoredneck1993 Lol 2016 is the most overrated year of WWE ever, Smackdown was trash, overrated garbage.
Dean's title reign was severely overshadowed. It kinda sucks because he started gaining momentum in 2016 right from the Royal Rumble and WWE should have done a lot more with him. Unfortunately, he went from WWE Champion to barely making the WrestleMania 33 card.
I felt like Moxley should have beat Triple H actually before he left the company since both Seth and Roman had high-profile matches with him...
@@marclyew7086 reigns got booed
@@marclyew7086 he beat triple h in live show
@@mrthakur1277 Yeah on a live show that doesn't use the storyline context... He may have defeat Triple H but WWE never treated it like how Roman or Seth did it...
Ambrose really should've won the 2016 Rumble then defend against Roman at Mania 32. Fans would've been way more invested in that match than Reigns vs HHH. I felt that Ambrose became champion just a tad too late, the fans were already all behind Styles regardless of him being heel.
For me this reign was just memorable and off....
Underrated title run by jon moxley
Ambrose’s reign started off in an awesome way creating the night of the Shield! It just quickly fizzled out because he was overshadowed by so many things including AJ Styles tearing it up with John Cena.
Bruh styles vs cena was a bigger deal than ambrose vs ziggler
I remember the Smarks turned against dean when he finally became champion.
It sucks because WWE wanted him to be a goof which i think wasn't his fault... Looking at his AEW Title run the dude had passion in the way he wrestled...
Yeah, specially the toxic Ziggler fans in August. Then they moved on with their new toy at the time: AJ
@@MauFerrer2000 AJ in my opinion made it work which I think was bull crap really when you look at the way they booked Finn Balor who was the OG in making the Bullet Club... Yet WWE discredits him so much on the Main Roaster. AJ bypassed NXT but why was Finn in NXT?
I think you summed the reign up well: Dean was just overshadowed. I remember by 2016 I was pushing hard for him and was so happy when he won, but then AJ started tearing it up. I'd been a fan of AJ since the early 2000's in TNA and so when he became number 1 contender I remember it being quite hard for me. I was at Backlash 2016 (First WWE PPV I've attended) and man the crowd was electric, but anyway it was tough because imo AJ really shouldn't lose just yet, but Dean also imo should've had a bit longer with the title. Ultimately AJ won and that was the right call, but I still feel like Dean didn't get to really show what he could do, his reign was just incredibly bad timing considering everything else going on at the time.
If they wouldn’t have hot shot it by having Ambrose cash in at MITB I possibly could’ve turned out better for him because I think we can all agree that as awesome as it was seeing dean cash in they could’ve waited it out until he cashed in
@@deegreatest7034 The problem was that the only reason Ambrose won the MITB, and ultimately the title, was because Roman got the Wellness violation. I think Owens was supposed to win that year, but they changed it. I think Rollins winning first was also a change due to the violation.
@@deegreatest7034I feel like Dean should’ve held it up until at least TLC both the AJ match and The AJ/Cena/Dean match could’ve still happened it’s just they wanted to hotshot AJ into the main event.
"this man would have a classic match with a fish" XD
I FELT THAT
To me 2015-2016 was when moxley had the most fun in wwe he was over eith the fans in a big way
he was over from 2014-2018
@@forgottenson3411 even in 2019. He had a cold start due to a lousy feud, but when fans found out he was leaving, they begged him to stay. It killed EC3’s push because the fans cheered Mox over him.
I loved Ambrose’s only WWE world title reign for what it was.
I loved Dean in WWE his title run was great and he was really good on smack down when they had the brand split he’s up there with CM Punk as being my favorite wrestlers
I'd say it's also worth including what happened through to No Mercy after this. The Styles-Ambrose-Cena triple threat that followed was a great opener to the PPV, and this was when Ziggler and Miz were in their incredible Intercontinental title feud. Some fun promos and spots between the three in their buildup too.
Ambrose winning the wwe championship was a great moment, too bad they didn’t have any faith in him as champ
MITB 2016 was incredible… had Game 7 on one tv and the show on the other.
I mean that game seven was ducking nasty “OH BLOCKED BY JAMES” and the Kyrie clutch 3 over curry
It was sad to see my favorite WWE superstar have a stale reign I wish it was better
@Raymond Frand yes indeed, at least every SHIELD member has their own moments of being a world champion (Seth at WM 31, Dean/Jon as AEW world champion, and the TRIBAL CHIEF Reigns)
@@clxx1302 Overall i think mox was the best reign of the 3. Rollins was good but he got injured abd reigns was decent at first but got stale fast to me and tons of people.
@@cerebralassassin2185 if we have to rank them, I think Ambrose/Moxley doesn't have the best reign if we're gonna consider some factors.
Rollins is probably the weakest hound, he's a coward champ at first and while having a decent Universal champ run at the time due to bad reputations of past champs, his title defenses are underwhelming especially against the Fiend and Corbin.
Meanwhile Mox was the second ever AEW world champ and had good matches as a champ but the only good thing about his run is taking the title from Le Champion and dropping it to Omega.
And finally, I'm not the biggest fan of Roman Reigns but he's been in his best form since coming back. The Tribal Chief is the greatest figure in WWE in recent memories and been dominating all of his matches. What I like about how they portray him is that he's still vulnerable due to some assistance with the Usos because he's a heel after all but still there's no chance to beat him with or without Usos. That's why Reigns has been the greatest out of the 3 so far in terms of title reigns and overall development.
@@clxx1302 That's fair. I'd personally switch mox and reigns. I just felt like Mox's reign never got boring and felt intense the clear way through it
Hell be back soon dont worry
What was wrong with "Dean Ambrose" 's title run, was VKM and the rest of creative wouldn't let him be himself. Just look at how Jon Moxley really is in AEW
It’s always a great day when you upload
feels like this is a life time ago
I loved this reign because it saw all my favourite performers facing each other
Yeah me too! But I still loved them together more still miss them!
My boyyy Prem w da 🔥 content
I really enjoyed this era of raw and smack down hopefully for some more awesome content
I love this channel 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
0:28 this man wanted Dean to dismember Lesnar with the chainsaw 💀
Dean had a good start getting his title and pinning Roman but then with the brand spilt and his second feud for the belt was against Ziggler, whom did have a good feud with the Miz for the IC title after this. But it had a strong ending with him losing to AJ
So all in all, good start and ending but so-so middle
Honestly I feel like they missed the opportunity for him to win the rumble in 2016. The title was on the line nobody wanted Roman to win again, final 3 being triple H, Roman, and Ambrose. I feel like Ambrose should’ve won but I get why H won it made more sense but imo it was clear many people felt like Ambrose shouldve one that one
Triple H should've won still but made it mox vs HHH instead. I think him and reigns having a feud with mox getting pissed that he's always taking the spotlight or something and winning at fastlane(i think that was the ppv) to face hhh at wm would've been perfect. They could make reigns heel then to and do mox vs reigns.
@@cerebralassassin2185 they had mox fight him at the next ppv.. but we all knew by then it would be hhh vs reigns... Then they had the nerve to rush him into a feud with Brock that seemed like sabotage
@@grammysworld5449 i dont think creative liked mox. Ik triple h liked him tho cause he'd always ask renee how mox was doing in aew and stuff like that.
@@cerebralassassin2185 I agree.. if you go to their fast lane match, it's the first time Mox did his limb targeting offense since FCW.. Vince most likely wanted to end it with Roman and HHH probably knew they had to cool Mox down first.. wouldn't be shocked if Trips himself asked for this match
@@grammysworld5449 I agree honestly Triple H def saw the potential mox had back then. mox was so popular back in 15 and 16 but was always overshadowed by roman and seth that by the time he had his title reign AJ was clearly the most popular so they didn't really have a choice but to take his title away. You can tell by his reign in aew that if given the chance to make his own character decisions he would have done big things in wwe.
The promo for the match at battle ground was FIRE
Am I The only one that thinks 2017 is an underrated year?
After wrestlemania it went downhill
Started amazing....then some stuff happened...ended...
Is this a reference to the Stone Cold podcast?
DA from 2012-2016 was so entertainmenting
Eh
They didn’t have the faith in him that they should’ve
I loved this era everybody says i was trash so forgetful
The reign was good. But when he went on Steve Austin's podcast that's when I think that's when it hurt him.
Smackdown live during the 2016 brand split to Summerslam 2016, was epic and tailored made for Dean Ambrose and he excelled during that period.
However it was abit too late as it was after the NJPW signings of AJ Styles, Nakamura and the Good Brothers.
They were the hottest thing in 2016 and no one from the shield could get over
Except Rollins
💪🏽 i just know shield part 2 coming next 🔥💯
Almost at 70k subscribers 💯💯
This video was a long time coming
WWE went downhill fast when Jinder became champion
I feel like dean's reign was too short and i think after battleground he should have someone like wyatt to solidify his regin but that just me 😕
Biggest problem with it after battleground he needed desperately to fight a top guy at summerslam. No offence to dolph tho
@@jbtreshawn stone cold podcast also ruined his reign as well
@@jbtreshawn that's true
@@Braylon1997 about the motivation thing right? Did cena also talk about it in a promo or was that next year?

*Dean Ambrose @ Jon Moxley.. Please 🥺🙏🏾.. Please come back to WWE.. You are the BEST. 😓😞😭🙏🏾🖤*
dean is my fav member
I remember stone cold telling dean that he was lazy or something and looking back what could Dean have done at that time? Styles was over and creative was on some drugs with how they handles stories.
He apologized
I remember I was at backlash 16 saw aj win the wwe title
Man That Stone Cold Podcast Interview was so bad
The Rollins report actually debuted in 2015 when Rollins was feuding with Jon Stewart I believe. I believe Rollins still had J & J security around.
Very fun title reign
Seth vs Roman at money in the back was amazing
I loved when he cash in on rollins like he did to roman
Idea: John Cena's and Batista's 2008 fued
Ambrose should have kept the briefcase and cash in at maina and Rollins should have won the rumble for a triple threat at mania instead of battleground
And hold the brand spilt for a whole year? They did it at Battleground for a reason
Honestly, I think if Moxley went over Brock at Wrestlemania 32 I think he would have been a lot more over with the crowd it did suck that they mismanaged the guy's own character when they used it. I also have to admit that they could have used Moxley's promo skills to help Roman more I think because Moxley could cut a lot of good promos (even if it was written by WWE). At least put Roman and Moxley in a Tag Team...
U should do the new day record breaking title run
Rollins Report was held earlier with Jon Stewart
Can you do a video about the later half of 2018 WWE? That stuff was a disaster
2019 was so damn bizarre. 2 out of 3 falls matches, Shane McMahon dominating TV. I don't know what they were thinking that year.
You should talk about sheamus world title run of 2012
Smarks were at their shittiest that year, it was unwatchable with how annoying they were in the crowd
I would like to see a match between Dean ambrose and Roman reigns today that match would be crazy
There was some very good matches but I felt
Like he should have been a 4 or 3 time championship
He would have if he didn’t leave
@@pleaseshutup7053 doubtful lol
@@pleaseshutup7053 he was in the midcard for 2 years straight and losing almost every match while Roman and Seth got massively pushed. he'd be a jobber if he stayed
@@zack8865 😂😂😂 jobber
Anyone else hung up on the pronunciation of calf?
I’m laughing at that Dolph comment because he’s NXT champion right now
1:00 then Seth never won WWE Championship again. But maybe one he’ll get another WWE championship reign. I remember all of this 2016 is when I first got into pro wrestling I was a sponge to everything and anything with wrestling. Being The Elite, Top 10 lists, Championship History and so on. Great time.
WWE butchered Dean Ambrose's Title reign
When will you do the feud of Miz vs Ziggler
Cover Cody's first wwe run
They shouldn't have made Ziggler the Summerslam contender, as soon as that match was announced I'd say it lost 50% excitement because Ziggler at that point was a Shawn Michaels wannabe he wasn't the super over Ziggler we had in 2014 that should have been champion, 2016 Ziggler was when he started to become unwatchable and was not a believable title contender
First I'm ever this early loved his run should've had multiple reigns also when he lost it to AJ I thought he would win again but nope back down the card
Some will say that had Roman not been suspended, this title reign wouldn’t have happened, but I feel that this was a “make do” for the crappy Brock match at WrestleMania 32 (where Brock half-assed it because of his then upcoming UFC fight against Mark Hunt). Things obviously didn’t help for him (the disastrous Austin interview, taking a backseat to Rollins/Reigns and later Cena/Styles, the pedestrian match with Dolph at SummerSlam that made him look like a paper champion) that at the first opportunity they took the title off of him and never looked back. In all honesty looking back when The Shield broke up, Ambrose was looked at by them as the Orton/Batista plug-and-play guy to Reigns and Rollins Cena and Edge.
It would have been a lot better if Ambrose stayed in the main event scene instead of falling to the IC title mix. With Styles being as hot as he was, he could've turned babyface. But who would be the top heel? Ambrose.
The year before dean won he sat in the ring and said he would win it the next year and cash in just after losin the MITB match
need an aj styles run vid
I wonder if Dean would have had another run with the WWE title if he stayed with the WWE.
after the triple threat the reign was C tier at best
Dolph vs Ambrose was good at summerslam 2016
This reign had 2 issues wwe booked Ambrose kind of goofy babyface and Aj styles was in the company and fans were ready for him to be champ
Let’s gk
the stone cold podcast killed him
Underwhelming SummerSlam match but an overlooked title reign, the dean was a top guy and they treated him like a nookie he didn't take AJ Styles seriously and it made me feel odd because I respect AJ so yeah.
hopefully, Jon is doing better things nowadays with Bryan Danielson, also fun fact: Cody left WWE 4 weeks before dean captured the title I just wanted to say it because he's one of AEW's main attractions it was just a thing I wanted to say.
The Dean ambrose title reign experiment is just blatant short lived injustice.I honestly feel that if he was given more time to fit I in a bit in the shoes of championship success there would have been something there as far as I am concerned and then there was the infamous stone cold podcast fiasco which was all a really bad judgement call on Dean's part, meaning if he had not inserted his foot the experiment might have just well seen the light of day.
If only he had a longer and better title reign. But at least it was a well money in the bank cash in.
I thought how the hell did dean go from the shield members to dolph ziggler as a challengers as a demotion
Naah he is the best in aew

Mox should've been the face of wwe imo. Rollins is good but doesnt have the bond with the fans and reigns has improved some but struggles to keep an entertaining character long. Mox was the perfect package and should've been/would've been the person to make even wwe bigger. They dropped the ball hard with him
How could Ambrose been the face when he became champ fans started booing him
@@pleaseshutup7053 They forced reigns to be champ and try to make him the face and he's always been primarily hated? Atleast with Mox he was primarily loved and could've changed his character to match him more
@@cerebralassassin2185 that highlights the major problem in wwe they are terrible at booking babyfaces look how they ruined drew mcyntire. Then they botch his heel turn which should have been a big deal. I see why Ambrose left wwe. I’m sure if they made him the face they would have botched it and had the fans booing him
I really think Dean Ambrose wouldn't have been bad to lose the title if he was the one that gained it back at the wrestlemania instead of the Orton versus Bray match. Considering AJ just lost it to Cena, and bray won couple months apart from each other. Hell you could have had heel Dean Ambrose vs Cena or a rematch of bray versus Ambrose at mania instead
What if…
Seth comes back as a babyface and faces Roman who’s a tweener and Seth beats him, only to lose to Dean via a MitB cash in and the next night, Roman beats up Dean, turning him heel and Seth saves him yet he gets planted by a DDT by Ambrose. At Battleground, Seth and Dean have a classic match for the title which was ruined by a Roman Reigns interference (he got suspended IRL and he returns at Battleground).
Due to the chaotic turn of events, the main event of Summer Slam would be this…
Ambrose vs Rollins vs Reigns
Triple Threat WWE Championship Match!
As for the Universal title match, it would be Finn Balor vs Kevin Owens
Dean Ambrose was a victim of bad timing. He should have won the 2016 Royal Rumble. Then that same night, Roman Reigns should have the WWE Championship. All roads lead to a Wrestlemania showdown with his former Shield brethren for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Can we get aj styles cena feud
To be fair he cocharé made lesnar try more but he would have also died live on PPV 😂
lets be honest if you arent Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar! you'll be at least treated right for a couple of months but then they'll put Reigns back on the spotlight and you'll be back somewhere in the middle or lowcards. the same applies for when Brock needs money and leaves his house to rob/work for Vince for like 3 months.
But why this stuff is happening??
@@harshaaditya3648 because WWE lost its touch and generally people aren't as interested in wrestling anymore.
First half of those reign was great. WWE poor booking of second half of the reign screwed it up. You have Shield as number 1 feud going on. Ambrose gets big rub pinning Rollins clean on Smackdown title match and Reigns at the ppv. Winning not only for him but Smackdown brand. Then they throw Ziggler in title scene after he was jobbing for months. Making Ambrose/Ziggler title feud 4th most important feud at Summerslam. It just killed momentum of that title reign. If they booked it right. They should have done Cena/Ambrose At Summerslam. To keep momentum going with Ambrose winning. Then did AJ/Cena at No Mercy with AJ winning. With Ambrose feuding with Ziggler at Backlash&Bray Wyatt in October/December. With AJ beating Ambrose at Rumble and facing Cena at Mania. With Ambrose maybe facing Miz at Mania. Instead we got Ambrose/Corbin, AJ/Shane, Cena&Nikki Bella vs Miz&Maryese. Just shows how poor booking and planning can make something good or bad. Then WWE wonders why 2 years later Ambrose was dying to leave. Now he's huge star and helped make AEW legit competition. If better booking happens during situations like this. Then AEW might not have ever made it
his horrible match against ziggler at summerslam 2016. That match felt like it had no direction with what story they were trying to tell. Thats when i knew yeah it was time to take the belt off dean.
Its was actually when he fizzed up on the Austin podcast they decided to take the title off him
It was a blur because he was so drunk
After the Shield Triple Threat match, this reigns was just flat and it was a matter of time AJ Styles beating him for the belt.
I severely disliked him by the time he was fighting AJ. I was thoroughly behind AJ Styles and I Bearly knew about him before 2016 besides the Clair Lynch story, his match with Nakamura, and the bullet club stuff;
Yet I was behind him by the time he was fueding with Roman and Cena.
Just horrible timing I'd say. You we're either conflicted or disliked him by then. That backlash crowd booed him! They booed a face Dean Ambrose! Imagine that
Roman reigns face tittle reign compared to heel tittle reign idea???
I thought about doing his entire face run but that's a good idea.
One was absolute dogshit and one was actually pretty decent for awhile(owens feud till vs edge at wm). The heel run was better but still it got stale easily.
