- About time. Randy Orton and Edge were two of my most hated wrestlers as a kid. Anything they did, I hated them with a passion. Looking back on Rated RKO, they were so damn good. Their stories, characters and matches were entertaining and I can't say anything bad about this run.

Hey guys! Long overdue video. It was good to go back and see Orton and Edge's partnership blow up. It was a nice stopgap for both men before they returned to the main event scene. What did you think of Rated RKO?

This tag team run would eventually lead to Randy becoming a more psychotic version of himself and eventually into the Apex Predator

@@Shadowsintoyesterday even in the summer of 2007 randy orton's body changed, he got slimmer. This randy was different, he started being cold blooded and moved to black tape wrist
Edge taught him everything by example, yet most fans don't even realise or appreciate that.
Edge targeted Randy in the first place because he planned to take down Evolution from the inside, using their youngest most suggestible member. However, Edge didn't expect Randy would come to him so quickly and willingly; nor did Edge imagine that he'd grow to like Randy, as a protégé and confidant. Randy saw that via Edge he could learn to unlock his dark side. Neither expected or wanted to need each other, but they did. Unusually for heels, they had mutual passion for redressing perceived injustices. Their arc is a rare brilliant example of two heels improving morally and softening emotionally due to one another.

Rated RKO was the tag team I always wanted, just putting the two most hated and dastardly villains together, it was like Joker and Luthor teaming up, we knew it was too volatile to last long tho, they still made it into SVR 2008 tho, mashed up themes usually aren't that good but they had a good one, and we got some of the best segments like the DX impersonation, Michaels kicking everybody, and the MITB Cutting Edge, also I don't remember Flair and Piper being tag team champions, when did that happen?

I remember feeling so disturbed as a kid when they dragged a bloddy Flair just to prove a point to DX. That was definitely something else
I’m 24 and I went back and watched that a few months ago and that even disturbed me then. Made it look entirety too realistic. Which is a great thing but Flair is a madman for allowing it lol

Rated RKO was an epic team. Edge and Orton were 2 of WWE's top heels and established main eventers in their prime. They were oozing charisma with amazing mic skills and huge star power while delivered an classic feud with DX. Rated RKO was super awesome
Posing as DX when they get in the ring and dude falls straight back still makes me die laughing to this day.
Rated RKO Were Awesome I Remember their Run like it was yesterday they were my favorite Tag Team And The Mashup with Metalingus and Burn in my light was awesome.

The April 30 match between them is one of my all time faves. It would lead to them both being world champions.
In all Edge vs. Orton matches, this match and their Backlash 2020 match will remain on top in my list.
Random fact: Dan Rodimer was pegged to join Rated RKO, but the plans fell through. He was supposed to be an enforcer.

It's hard to imagine a Heel tag team who needed an enforcer less than Rated RKO. Edge may have been more of a cunning manipulative shitheel who didn't always like a confrontation and tended to whine about injuries, but still he was a tall broad heavyweight guy and could more than hold his own in a straight fight. Randy was even bigger and stronger than Edge, not to mention young at the time they teamed, and until he learned from Edge's manipulative ways he served as the 'dumb' muscle of the two.
One of the best tag teams ever. Fucking hated them, but that was their jobs. 🤣
I always respected RKO growing up. I knew I was supposed to hate them and I acknowledged they were terrible human beings, but something about them seemed authentic and entertaining enough where they got a nod from me. I'd rank them as top 5 greatest thrown together tag team of all time for sure. I mean other than two man power trip and the megapowers, I can't think of a better thrown together tag team off the top of my head. I think they should go into the hall of fame as a duo in addition to their obvious future individual inductees. Just a really fun duo to watch for both good and evil reasons

That one raw where they lost a 6 man tag earlier in the night to dx and flair and had a surprise guest for the cutting edge that night after DX left the building and they dragged flair out and he was bloody mess was one of the most uncomfortable segments i remember watching at the time

Edge and Randy reign as Tag Champs and win came in a weird way I could imagine it better if Rated RKO would’ve first took out DX and then set their sights on the Tag division of Monday Night RAW with them eventually defeating The Hardy Boyz for the World Tag Team Titles.DX should’ve been the ones to return and end their reign but also having an inspiring feud with them but at the exact same time a newer Tag Team like Crime Time would’ve been perfect to defeat Rated RKO as being a title switch shocker with Crime Time pulling up the upset against Rated RKO after receiving some assistance from John Cena.
I loved Rated Rko they were entertaining compared Dx who passed their time by 2006...i was upset when they broke up but i understood why they needed to break them up because of what they ended up accomplishing after.
Rated RKO is my all time favorite tag team. They were around for very little but made a huge impact

I think the reason this team is so fondly remembered probably is because the time it was done. DX was beating everyone and they decided 2 top heels going up against them made sense. It also helped that Orton was in Evolution, and Edge had a great feud with Michaels on his rise before feuding with Cena.
Nowadays I've realised how much hated Edge and Randy Orton as a child/teen but now I've realised they were my favourite wrestlers.
Also this team should of lasted alot longer then they did as it helped and they both complemented each other

Interesting fact: originally we were supposed to get edge vs orton for WM23 but the idea got cancelled. So one match and 14 in a half years later we got a double rematch

I remember watching rated rko as a kid during 2006 to early 2007 first they beat everybody and after dropping the tag titles to Shawn Michaels and John Cena they lost every tag match they were in.

I loved the 2006 Survivor Series match with Team DX and Team Rated RKO. the funnest part was when they got rid of Mike Knox and HBK asked "Who is he" CM Punk and the Hardys told DX who he was.
I still remember always hating them for what they did to DX in 06, but felt better when DX almost killed them at NYR 07

when I was a kid, I am a big fan of DX but on the other hand a fan of Randy Orton as well. Confused since a child.
I cant understand why this team is held in such high regard. They were literally thrown together to give DX someome to feud with because the tag team division (if you could call it that) was atrocious in 2006. Sure Edge and Orton are both legends today but this team was the definition of a filler team.
I’m definitely a guy who will get mad at the heel, especially when I was younger. But this tag team I was always a big fan of. Them going against DX was dope and I thought the segment of them as HBK and HHH was gold. I think of this duo very quickly when I think of tag teams of this era. Even though there was more prominent ones.

their combined intro songs was the best one ever bro I loved it
Though they did reunite at the end of 2007, they did have a somewhat ironic path-crossing moment, where after Edge lost to HBK on the Raw before Judgement Day, Orton came out to attack. It wasn't necessarily to help him out, but I felt it should be noted. From there began Orton's slow transition into becoming more evil and hated than even Edge.
