I strongly agree with the idea that China and the US should establish a hotline especially on the military side to maintain communication. The problem is that the Chinese defense minister is being sanctioned by the US. So how do you communicate with a person you sanction...

You want communication and direct line yet you put sanctions on their defense minister, the Chinese will only get more serious in working with the Russians because if the US was serious about dialog they would have said we taking sanctions off, but they not. For defensive purposes and to preserve peace in that area which US has been doing with no invasion in over 50 years especially as US is not threatening an invasion in that area like China. Ask any country in that area other than China if they want US out and they will say no.

That’s what a diplomat should do. You don’t give the adversaries an impression that we don’t care about their tantrums.. You make them think that they got our attention. And then, we use what they really care about the most to get them to stop not just their bad behavior but all other bad actors for us. It’s more effective that way

Blinken was dressed down by the Chinese two years ago in Alaska when he spoke of the International rules based structure of the world, in light of illegal wars, occupations, regime change, and proxy wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen.

Good progress to reestablish relationships, in terms of military tension, please do not sail your warship across Taiwan strait, it was not necessary more than 8000 km from US. He's terrible. The #1 killer of people 18-49 is work related injuries. Not fentynal. Work related injuries cause painful symptoms. Pain that often gets treated by necessary _prescription_ medications. Which have risks of their own. It all starts with a work related injury. Injuries that more often than not go deliberately unreported and unrecorded by industrial plants and corporations. Which is why Blinkin will never have the facts on it because, to say again, it's off the record injuries that start it all.

I really think Mr. Biden should appoint someone else to take Antony's position. The very fact that Saudi Arabia agreed to establish formal diplomatic relations with Iran and made it a surprise to the U.S. is enough of a reason for Antony to step down.
So you don't have peace in the world? What's wrong with Saudi 🇸🇦 and Iran getting along? You can still sell weapons to 200 other countries.

I do agree Blinkin has been one of Biden's worst people. I expected him to be better than this. Him and secretary Austin. Austin didn't spend the required time as a civilian to serve in that position. Our military is intended to be civilian controlled. Breaking from that isn't a great idea. Nor are the false figures reported to us by Blinkin.

Kinda appreciate the US system, where we get to have a dove like Blinken to build bridges, with the SecDef with POTUS and/or Congress (as needed) to be more hawkish. In a world where Blinken was the only voice, we would get totally rolled (guy seems super wimpy), but that is perfectly ok since he is the "good cop" on Team USA.
