Sycharth - the birthplace and home of Owain Glyndwr

I’m very pleased that my local Councillor, Elfed Wyn Ap Elwyn, organised a petition to to the Senedd, calling Sycharth, the birthplace and court of Owain Glyndŵr to be secured for the nation. Sadly, the proposition was rejected. A Powys Councillor, Elwyn Vaughan then proposed that special destination signs be put up to direct visitors to the site, but this too was turned down. I think that’s a shame and a wasted opportunity. I went to the site today and made this video. There is, or very soon will be, a separate version of the video in Welsh on my timeline.

Dwi wrth fy modd y trefnodd fy Nghorhorydd lleol Elfed Wyn Ab Elwyn, ddeiseb i’r Senedd yn galw ar Lywodraeth Cymru i sicrhau Sycharth, sef man geni a llys Owain Glyndŵr i’r genedl. Yn anffodus gafodd y cais ei wrthod. Wedyn, mi gynigiodd un o gynghorwyr Sir Powys, Elwyn Vaughan, y dylid gosod arwyddion arbennig i gyfeirio ymwelwyr i’r safle. Ond mi gafodd hwn ei wrthod hefyd.
