God I miss this soooooo much. Running in formation in the early morning. Burning up Ardens Road. All the cadence callers and soldiers on one beat. There was no music playing just the rhythm of soldiers running to cadence. I was in the 1st Avn 82nd Airborne. At the time I loathed jumping but niw Im soo proud of the unit I had the honor of representing.
But didn't you run in step, and run in boots? This seems to be a big mess, just thousands of people running, but no column's or ranks of any kind and not in step.. Couldn't they have companies run, and some Sgt call cadence. Seems it wouldn't be hard to do.
I miss it soo much, 82nd FSB, Discom, 99-03. I miss Sports Bar USA, I miss Ardennes, Long St., the motor pool, I miss it all. God Bless every single one of ya'll HOAH! AIRBORNE!
I was at Ft Bragg, 3/68th ADA. My son was Airborne there. I loved living in Fayetteville. 🇺🇸

@@Incrediblewash My nephew was in the 82nd Airborne, and said they ran in boots. What happened? Tennis shoes are for gym classes, not fighting soldiers.

Was stationed at FT Bragg in an Airborne Combat Engineer Battalion. BN CDR decided we would have a parade on Main Post (helmet, LBE, weapons)...and then run 3.5 miles back to the unit. What a CLUSTER. It sounded like a conglomeration of jingles, jangles, cadence calling, etc.
AIRBORNE leads the way.......to all my fellow airborne brothers in arms past and present. 1989-1995 vet ft bragg nc.

This really makes me feel good, but I need some advice. The only good feelings I have now for the most part are for soldiers and I want to stress what I've said and will say again: we need to care and we need to pull together in these bad and dark times. The advice I need is this: is it possible to care too much more than enough?

The pace of the run isn’t bad unless you’re in 3rd brigade cause it’s like a jog sprint jog sprint the whole time 😂
Isn't this just cute. Running in shorts, sneakers and hi-vis belts. What we don't see is the shrinks that tag along in case someone has a traumatic event. During Vietnam we ran every morning in fatigues, jump boots and white t-shirts and if you fell out, you were re -motivated!
Did he just say it was a 9 minute mile?....I was there in 97 and would be laughed at for a 9 m mile.
