What? 73,000? If I had that much in saving I probably wouldn't want to move to Mexico...i could live anywhere...i would go somewhere that's less expensive than Mexico if I had that kind of money!!!
OMG, $4300 a month! Wow, that is crazy. I don't make that much working a month, and my social insurance will not be even close to that. How did they come up with that amount you need to live on, I live on a lot less than that. I guess Panama, Costa Rica, or Belize is looking a lot better than Mexico!
Another informative & well done video! I love that the application process for Residency prepares you for the reality of life in Mexico ;) It doesn't make sense that the different consulates in the US have different requirements, but that's Mexico life, things don't always make sense, and the rules change frequently. I say this as a Cdn who is grateful to be currently living in Mexico with Temp Residency. Viva Mexico!
Am I mistaken in thinking that the $4,300 is for 4 years and the $7,300 after taxes is for permanent residency, or that you need $73,000 or $292,000 in the bank for 6 to 12 months? It's very confusing... most retirees I know don’t make $7,000 net a month or have $300k in the bank. If I am right So, even the (1+3) 4-year temporary visa (at $4,300/$73,000) is also a tall order., Leaving every 180 days sounds like the best option? I don't see any restrictions on returning? Why do you need a return ticket if you drive into Mexico? I am a bit lost

I don't think that it is correct that the income requirements for the temporary visa and the permanent visa are the same.
Real estate investment such as your house? Is that considered the same as savings.?

Yea, that will definitely keep people from moving there. Thank you for viewing!
It might be easier to show the lump sum in a bank account, if possible.
Maybe that's exactly what they want...they don't want an influx of too many Americans there!!@@adventurefreaksss

Yes, that is correct. These requirements have changed making Mexico difficult for some to live / move there.
I own a house here. Does that help getting a permanente?
Thanks for this video. The information was clear and straightforward.
