@@megngarnett (without screen protector) I dropped my ipad once and my cat kicked it from my desk once and the case I had (think it was 5 dollars from a cheap store :))) saved it. I used it without the screen protector for 6 months and didn't get a scratch, but better safe than sorry.
Ipad is for drawing. If u can draw... Its for drawing. Maybe not so strong with the programs. But procreate came alongway.. Plus other programs. Alot of pro uses ipad. Becauase its quick. U turn it on in 1 sec and press a procreate icon 2second and pencil in 3 second. And u draw and paint. With computer u wait 30 minutes to resolve all the problems and updatea.. And then u start. Thats the main difference. No wacom cintiq ia not bad. Its very good. But sometimes it gives us headaces xD.
Do I have any Wacom products? Nah. Do I have the new iPad? Nope. Can I even draw? Maybe a stick figure. But am I watching intently and taking mental notes of the pros and cons ? of course
Lol yeah were i live there is slightly less expensive versions of both (prices still being nothing to sneeze at) but not having a good pc available before hand lead me to spending 5-600 on the IPad, pen, and case
If you’re not comfortable drawing on a smooth surface, you can buy matte screen covers, like screen protectors but for drawing to make it feel more like paper
I heard that matte screen protectors can file down the tip of the apple pencil overtime though.. and as far as I know you can't replace the nibs on the apple pencil 2 so I don't know if I'd want to risk that
@@hamdaalmatrooshi4545 you tap on the side of the pencil twice, most drawing applications will recognize the gesture, and it will switch to eraser btw I think it’s only for second gen

I’m a young digital artist who relies on their family for money (to young to have a job) and even if I don’t really leave my house often having the iPad would be a lot nicer then using my finger and phone which is what I’ve been doing for over a year. So even though I could use my brothers computer with the Wacom using the iPad would just be a lot easier for me at the moment.
If you can’t afford neither the IPad or a Wacom (cuz you also need a computer), you could buy a Galaxy Tab (Samsung Tablet). It’s WAY cheaper than the IPad, the pencil comes for free, and you don’t need a computer for that. The only “downfall” is that you can’t have Procreate there, but if you use any other app (Clip Studio Paint, Autodesk sketchbook, IbisPaint, Medibang), you are free to go! I’ve used it for a while and it’s REALLY good
I recommend the iPad with the Apple Pencil. I'm a student and I love digital art so it comes in handy. I can easily draw digitally in my art classes and take note on it as well. Best investment ever. Procreate and Goodnotes are a must have for students and artist.
Ikr? I have both, wacom and Apple and they both are amazing but i really prefer apple because it has more things to work on ( sorry for my bad grammar im from mexico so im learning english and i also think because im 12 years old so my grammar its not to good =/ )
I love the fact that procreate is only $9.00. Like it seriously competes with other drawing programs like photoshop really well and it’s portable and less expensive than buying a PC and a tablet
I bought Procreate for my daughter and we family share it. I'm intimidated by it and stick with Adobe Sketchpad. She's nearly mastered Procreate. I'll have to spend some time with it I guess. Watching her here makes me wanna use it more. But I'm quite amateur compared to my daughter. I use my ipad and Sketchpad to draw fashion sketches I'll 3D model later in Blender.

When I bought bought my iPad, I also didn’t like how slippery the surface was but I just bought a paper like matte screen protector and it feels much more natural. Great video!
i got a Wacom Cintiq 13HD for christmas (i needed a new tablet, my old one was breaking down, and i didnt expect this tablet at all, i thought i was getting a normal cheap one 😅) but i honestly love it so much ! i have used an ipad before that my friend has. and i like it but not for finished pieces or big pieces, just sketches, doodles and simple pieces. i do want an ipad in the future for on the go art, or if im feeling lazy. but personally i use the side buttons all the time, and the ipad not having that is a BIG draw back from me. im also used to clip studio paint. so procreate is always an adjustment to use when i use my friends ipad. its still very nice, but i know that if i got an ipad i would need the keyboard for the short cuts. another thing i find annoying with the apple pencil (1st gen) is having to manually go to the eraser tool. it takes time that i wouldn’t need to do on my wacom or my old tablet ( button that let me go to eraser without me having to manually do it). so overall the wacom is my go to, i plan to save up for an ipad as well, but thats so i can do other things along with art. another thing i do love abt the ipad is that i can transfer stuff to my phone way easier(air drop). transfering pictures from my phone to my computer is way more complicated and time consuming
Having a wacom, Huion, and ipad, all three are nice. The ipad is excellent for on the go work, the wacom one (intuos) is one I always have in my bag since it's light and easy to set up (it's also the first one I owned), if a laptop were to be available for me to use. The Huion (screen) is a staple for me to use at home. I am an art student, and I don't spend much money asides from thrifting, art, and albums. A tip is to buy these items when they're on sale. I bought the Huion when it was still fairly new so I got it for a hundred dollars off. For the ipad and apple pencil, I got it on Black Friday-- near two hundred dollars off.
@@sus_dying3540 yeah, I dare say that double tapping is even quicker than flipping your pencil around. It annoys me when people don’t know about the features of the tech they buy. I see all these people not using Touch ID or thinking they need to double tap their iPhone screen to wake it when it only takes a single tap.
Well Huion tablets are not that expensive here. I'm a beginner digital artist from India and I use Huion HS64 which costed me Rs 4,000 or 53 USD here ipads are like super expensive beyond the budget of students T^T
Theres this screen protector you can get for the ipad, it makes it feel like your drawing on paper, its called "paper like" that should fix the slippery screen problem
I currently have the Wacom Intuos and I'm loving it. However, when I upgrade to a Drawing Tablet with a Built In Screen I'll most likely go with an iPad (Either the Regular model or the Air). I got the Wacom Intuos as my Birthday present and I know it's about $85. I'm saving up the iPad, which is only $400

Me who uses a phone and my finger: **laughs in poor** (Edit) i have a gaomon tablet now and it's great, I love using it. I do still use my phone and finger occasionally though!
If you can get some money you can buy an innexpensive tablet like a veikk S640, it's really cheap but pretty good and as a starter tablet it works wonders, is tiny but pretty tough There are plenty of options for cheap but good tablets out there, you just have to search for them, not everything is wakom or Apple
for those considering the ipad and apple pencil gen 2: you can double tap on the side of the pencil to alternate between the pen/pencil and eraser tool! :) depending on the app, most will let you customise what the double tap feature will do so you can use them for other features such as undo and redo as well if you prefer that! and if you don’t like the glossy feel of the ipad screen, the best thing to do is to buy a paperlike/matte screen protector instead of a glass one! :) this is for all ipads. if it starts losing the “paper feel”, try wiping the screen with damp towel to get dirt and oil off from the screen (〃ω〃)

You don't need it, there are cheaper alternatives animation studios won't replace their wacom and huion with apple tablets and apple pencils anytime soon
you don't need an ipad pro to use procreate and the apple pencil. you can also use the ipad 2018 or 2019 but they are smaller. but they're like half the prize, i'm considering getting the 2019 one for drawing and uni work because i don't own a pc and this would actually be cheaper than getting a pc & drawing tablet
not real photoshop! it's a new version created for ipad with simple features, i recommend procreate it's better with more advance features than iPad's photoshop
To anyone who doesn't know, You can get a screen protector for any type of iPad do you have that feels like paper so if you don't like a very slippery screen a paper screen protector will be for you

I decided that it is a better choice and cheaper and seems like it works good as well.
Hi! So as a person who uses procreate I would like to give you a tip, to switch between the brush tool and the eraser tool and back all you have to do is double tap on the stylus you kinda have to mess around with where you tap it because you have to find the exact spot 😭 or to find the spot a little easier you just go to settings and tap Apple Pencil and you should see where to double tap ❤️👍🏻

I’m actually getting an Apple Pencil tomorrow and I’ve got a Wacom inituos pro. Honestly an Apple Pencil is cheaper. Lemme explain: Wacom tablet= 1. You need a relatively good computer (about 600-700$ due to them needing a lot of ram and other stuff) 2. You need a good screen. I have a trash 1080p screen and my drawings do not look good at all and everything in the screen looks relatively bad. (Priced at the very least 150$) 3. You need a mouse and keyboard (50$ for both for cheap) 4. You need a lot of electricity to operate a computer so if you don’t have electricity or somehow you have like a 1k$ computer and you are homeless.. welp you can do anything iPad= 1. Costs about 600$ brand new (I bought an iPad Air 3rd Generation not the most expensive tablet) 2. The Apple Pencil costs 160$ (overpriced I know) 3. You can go to like a cafe and charge it for free 4. It is portable. 5. Procreate costs 10$ (on pc you could “pay” for photoshop 😉) So for a Wacom you’d have to spend 800$ at the very least while a tablet with an Apple Pencil is at about 770 at best buying everything brand new. Edit: Alright i got an iPad and the pencil. It. Is. Amazing. Better than my Wacom

True.

Its got work to do though. Mainly price reduction and strength.
But sometimes it gives us headaces xD.

i got a Wacom Cintiq 13HD for christmas (i needed a new tablet, my old one was breaking down, and i didnt expect this tablet at all, i thought i was getting a normal cheap one 😅) but i honestly love it so much ! i have used an ipad before that my friend has. and i like it but not for finished pieces or big pieces, just sketches, doodles and simple pieces.
i do want an ipad in the future for on the go art, or if im feeling lazy. but personally i use the side buttons all the time, and the ipad not having that is a BIG draw back from me.
im also used to clip studio paint. so procreate is always an adjustment to use when i use my friends ipad. its still very nice, but i know that if i got an ipad i would need the keyboard for the short cuts. another thing i find annoying with the apple pencil (1st gen) is having to manually go to the eraser tool. it takes time that i wouldn’t need to do on my wacom or my old tablet ( button that let me go to eraser without me having to manually do it).
so overall the wacom is my go to, i plan to save up for an ipad as well, but thats so i can do other things along with art. another thing i do love abt the ipad is that i can transfer stuff to my phone way easier(air drop). transfering pictures from my phone to my computer is way more complicated and time consuming

Lavendertown: this tablet is only 800$
Me: only 800$.... Ya sorry I don't speak rich
EDIT: ALRIGHT! maybe it's not that expensive. But to those who have and keep saying they have like a 1000 doller tablet or laptop or say it's not that bad.
Will you be willing to buy me an art tablet? ( I don't mean this though) just saying you got this money willing to share some?
EDIT: also this comment was meant to be a joke comment in the first place. You guys are taking it to seriously!
Apple has a 300$ (also goes on sale alot, not on Apple.com though) one that works with the pencil, but if you want 120hz alot, there is a the 500$ iPad pro 10.5, discounted by Apple but still on their refurbished store. However they don't work with pencil 2, which means is draws just as great with pencil 1, it just doesn't charge wirelessly and it doesn't have the double tap to switch tools feature. Still draws just as good though
compared to Wacom's 1 100 dollars second cheapest tablet it's "only"
Get xp pen or huion. Theyre alright discount brands. And unless youre a pro like lavender you really dont need an expensive af tablet
if you have decent or good credit apply for a bestbuy credit card or apple credit. and do monthly payments between 50-100$ after purchase.
if you can donate plasma that helps a lot too since u get 70$ a week.
thats how i got both of my ipad pros 10.5 and 12.3.
awswam kitty regular ipad is 350$ and the first gen pencil is 100$ its what i have lol.. you dont need the second gen and the ipad pro to do the same thing
I've seen a few of your videos while researching which wacom to buy and as a working artist who is actually going to spend money on professional equipment, I want to thank you for having footage of you drawing and actually talking through your experience of using them... Too many of these tech reviews are just for clicks and have no real opinions.
i have a apple pencil but my brother was like:

ariana's tea time the Apple Pencil is worth it no $5 stylus could ever

Honestly though I will neeeeever any any drawing tablet, the iPad Pro does too much for me
the iPad just acts erratic and destructively if you have too much storage and unless you have almost no apps it’s impossible to keep it at a good amount of storage because the system and iOS take up A LOT of space
Chaos Z I’m pretty sure 128 gbs is enough so that your device doesn’t run out of storage. I have a 128 gb model with tons of apps, movies, pictures etc. taking up space and I still have 23 gbs left.
Wtf, apple made pencil for arts and education. Then what is the meaning from what you said? that apple does not focus in much on drawing. It can be used for kids purpose too,
@@prikkiki-ti-2 I'm an artist and I work from a 256gb iPad. I won't lie, I also have cloud storage, but between the Cloud Storage and my 256gigs I've been surviving without any issues so far. Besides, now with the new iPadOS the iPad will recognize hard drives and flash drives, so storage is not really an issue. I make comic work, and for making scripts I would say that my computer is irreplaceable, but for art I use my iPad so much that I'm actually selling my Cintiq. Also, new iPadOS and MacOS have a feature called "Sidecar" which basically makes the iPad into a Cintiq if you have a Macbook/iMac. I've been testing the public beta and I have to say, this old Cintiq of mine has officially be retired from my workflow

5:47 you can buy screen covers that has texture if that’s what you’re looking for :)
I’m actually getting an Apple Pencil tomorrow and I’ve got a Wacom inituos pro.
Honestly an Apple Pencil is cheaper.
Lemme explain:
Wacom tablet= 1. You need a lot of electricity to operate a computer so if you don’t have electricity or somehow you have like a 1k$ computer and you are homeless.. welp you can do anything
iPad= 1. Costs about 600$ brand new (I bought an iPad Air 3rd Generation not the most expensive tablet) 2. The Apple Pencil costs 160$ (overpriced I know) 3. You can go to like a cafe and charge it for free 4. It is portable. 5. Procreate costs 10$ (on pc you could “pay” for photoshop 😉)
So for a Wacom you’d have to spend 800$ at the very least while a tablet with an Apple Pencil is at about 770 at best buying everything brand new.
Edit: Alright i got an iPad and the pencil. It. Is. Amazing. Better than my Wacom
Where I'm from the iPad is 450 dollars and the Pencil is 90 dollars
Annabelle Perry iPad Air 3rd generation
But so is a cheaper tablet that costs less and comes with the pen free Wich is still amazing if not better...
Annabelle Perry it’s also the 10.5”
There are also tons of resellers who sell overpriced things, like apple pencils, for only like...9 dollars
Me: Can I get an Apple Pencil?
Mum: sure *gets an apple and sticks a pencil into it* Here you go!
Me: .,. I meant the brand-
Mum: *puts loud music on*
Me: I-
Beginning artist equipment that I started with but granted Digital art wasn’t a thing yet and laptops hadn’t come out yet. But started out with a sketchbook and pencils and paint. I made my own canvases. I was in art school. So I got creative. I mean I did have the required supplies I had to have for my classes. But a sketchbook is a great start!
I can't afford either one. I only have a huion 420 that my friend gave to me because they didn't need it anymore and since i really wanted a drawing tablet.
*420*
The Real Richard Goranski ayope
Huion is considered the best or one of the best alternatives to a Cintiq. I've heard people say that for the price it's a better buy in some cases than a Cintiq if you're tech savvy enough to deal with setup issues
Huion is also a good option)
My bro has a Huion it is actually pretty decent. I haven't personally messed with it but he seems to crack out some decent works with it and he likes it a lot. Nothing wrong with getting a Huion..
