I agree with Florin: were the people some 7000 years B.C. such great sailors, since even today the storms in the Egean seas are formidable?
Did they have big sail ships, able to resist to such storms?
Of course not, the European's ancestors DID go over the Bosphorus, it's the easiest way and our ancestors were not suicidal!
    It's elementary. Watson!
But, the ancient people MUST HAVE GONE OVER GREECE, because that's what the Greek historians say!
The ancient Europeans MUST HAVE BEEN Cycladic, for the glory of Helada!

Why would people migrate over sea,Cyclades, and not over Bosphorus? Was it not easier? Is it not possible that there was a poligenesis on cultures? Why ,based on carbon dating, have to assume that Thessalian is older than Vinca or Starcevo? Just a few questions!

It's always striking me, how they manage to avoid the word "goddess" in such films. It was evidently a goddess culture at that time. Marija Gimbutas and others have proved that - many hundreds of female "figurines", which are really goddesses, where found, but only very few male ones - but the chief of scientests in this video shows the most interest in the rare figurine of the male thinker...... But he is wrong so far - humans do have changed in all this time - the male human at least has changed: for 3 thousand years now he has lost his place, keeps on ignoring and violating his female mate and since then he is always and only interested in himself......just as this kinds of scientists prove again and again and again,,,just blind!

because although Gimbutas got lots of things right to much is unconfirmed and there are to many conjectures. She is not the only one looking in the ancient europe.

Dear Michelle Jewell, thanks for your answer. Yours is the right "official" answer patriarchally indoctrined women are taught to use. WHO is allowed to decide WHEN some historical fact is evident and "proved"? Do we always have to wait until all the MALE scientest do agree...This is like waiting for the pope in rome to admit that the christian god is a jewish invention!!...How many proves do you need? Millions against one, which is held by old-fashioned thinking people who cannot admit what they see, because they don't like it? Gimbutas is not the only one who explored ancient europe, but she was the most experted of her time and she was one thing very special - she was just honest!! She had NO REASON TO HIDE FACTS like most male scientest and many patriarchal female scientest do have! And also - there are many others who came to the same answers as Gimbutas did - but they are mostly also women - so, I know, they don't count.....must be some worthless and lying "feminist".....Gimbutas herself never claimed, that she found all the truth and all the answers....she often said, that there are many things for the future to learn, find out and understand better. If you need another example: Sir Arthur Evans, who explored the minoen culture in Crete was convinced he found a quite normal patriarchal culture - it was only near the end of his life, that he changed and admitted, that after all he was now sure, that what he found was really a goddess culture!! If you check this today on wikipedia, you will find Not one word about his change of mind - because this kind of statements are not suitable and are quite normally extinguished by the MALE authors of wikipedia - THERE are the lies, the ignorance, the unconfirmed, but have-to-believe, the unproved facts and millions of conjectures - these we are taught to believe every day from our early childhood.....for us to be blind, scared and obidient...

Roll eyes, you have no clue on how the academia and science works, please refrain to comment till you are able to come up with a informed answer. Of course you are able to comment, Im nobody, however I can choose to block you. Im not interested in talking with ignorant people nor trolls. Generally actually no universally the only people who rant against the academia are con artists like Sitchin von Daniken etc ancient aliens or Nibiru crapola.
FYI your idol Arthur Evans committed far to many forgeries and faketry. Matter of fact the Minoan civilization had to be study again from scratch. He went so far to hire artists and workers to alter and decorate the site (Knossos). See if you read few more books from reputable authors you would know it.
Beside this is not a movie nor the 1900 century. Science doesent work like portrayed in Hollywood. Reputable researchers are peer reviewed as a mean to prevent bias and charlatanism. There is no lone against all scientists.
But you have a point on a possible matriarchal or matrifocal civilization in Crete. However during the decline it ended in a bloody civil war. and then eradicated by the sea people during the late bronze age collapse in eastern Mediterranean.
About Gimbutas, she had all the reason in the world in coming forward with her fiction. It gave her fame and some good $$$ not to mention the horde of fans cheering for her.
So yes it was a good deal for her.

Surely you are the kind of people who insist that even today there are no living matriarchal societies? Keep on believing in unbiased truth of "mainstream academia" - they will also ashure you that atomic buildings are safe .........No sense in further talking when young women are indoctrinated throughout theirs lifes and don't open their eyes and think for themselves....But one last thing: to describe Gimbutas work as a fiction discredits both your knowledge and your attitude...Feel sorry for you....

    • @michellejewell9859
      @michellejewell9859 8 років тому

Suedwind2011 depends on the definition of matriarchal societies you employ. Most common usage is matrilinear and matrifocality. and everything in between. But again its all about definitions.
Matter of fact i plan to, I stick to what we know not to what we want to believe as you do. Belief is secondary it may give you some motivations or relief but thats it. Instead whats really useful is real research. Not fantasy. Everybody have fantasy, but a intelligent person need to distinguish the difference between the two. One is imagination the other is fact. Pseudo science is imagination fantasy they are no better than a cartoon with Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto etc. Real science is what allowed cartoons to exist in first place. See the difference?
Yes yes yes I know, the reality is boring, real science is boring all about math, molecules, heavy dusty books, open research and so on. But this is what makes the world go ahead. Fantasy just keep you tied to the same old.
Now enough with this. Get a education then we can talk.
      Cheers Michelle.
