Well It all began on a simple trip to the farmers market mother spent 3 hours picking out the perfect cabbage for Rodger but she accidentally left me in the cabbage and then at the dead of night a bunch of ocelots found me and raised me as their own the worst part was I was 6 at the time finally after 11 years I finally found my parents I had missed them so much they didn’t miss me much though because the next day the tricked me onto a ship coming to America and that is why Perry the Platypus

(Us lifetime Texans don't know how to deal with snow and ice on the road, since it only occurs like a week for an entire winter. Those that moved from the northern states are frequently amused by native Texans' inability to deal with existing in the cold, or driving in the cold.

My sister moved to Tennessee and was confused at how many people couldn't drive at ALL in a light flurry of snow. It didn't even leave an inch and everywhere was closed. (Apparently there's only like one snow plow for like three counties or more?)

Speaking as someone from the states, despite us always using Fahrenheit, I always had to question it. Even though I was used to what something like 85 degrees felt like, I never understood the logic behind it, and Celsius made SO MUCH more sense.
UNTIL!
Until someone FINALLY explained the origins of where the scale came from! Turns out, it is a zero to 100 scale. But it isn't about boiling water, its about what you could legally be allowed to work in. If it was over 100 degrees outside, you legally could not work or have anyone work outside because it was too hot! and if it was below zero, it was so cold you legally weren't allowed to work. SO NOW when I hear someone complain that it is 105 degrees outside, it actually makes sense! It is so dang hot that back in the day you weren't allow to work in this heat!

Little tip for understanding fahrenheit temperatures: imagine the number as a percentage. 30? Way to cold. 65? Pretty nice. 105? Way too freaking hot.

@@elod4130 Well, they are telling the truth. Fahrenheit is measured by how it feels to a human, whereas Celcius is measured by how it affects water. It's much easier to just think of Fahrenheit as a percentage.

Although I did have one that apparently I begged my parents to buy me as a baby? Like. Pre Memories early. Never could decide if that thing was pretty or not (actually had hair, light brown skin, and starry eyes). But that Cabbage Mouth disturbed me so I finally got rid of it as a kid. Jury’s Out on whether I regret that or not-my parents were REALLY upset with me despite me having no memory playing with it.

Quick rule of thumb for Fahrenheit: it's scaled around human comfort/survivability.
So 50 is right in the middle of what's comfortable, if a little on the low end. 70 is temperate, and 80+ is hot. 100 is REALLY hot, and anything higher than that is extremely uncomfortable.

I love hearing Celsius folks talk CvsF.
I've lived in the States right near the Canadian border so since birth I've watched Canadian Tv channels and listened to Canadian radio, so I'm pretty comfortable with F-C and Miles-Kilometers. 104 F is low 40s C and 5-10 C is like 40s-50s F.
I imagine Canadians who live on the border near the US probably have the same comfort since we share radio stations.
As someone who LIVES in a place where the summers bounce between 115 and 120 Deg F (about 46 to 48 Deg C), yeah, it feels like everything is on fire.

Fun fact: -40° is the same temperature in both Celsius and Fahrenheit.
100 f is 38c, 32f is 0c, room temp is 68f and 20c. That’s about all you need to know for everyday use.
@@ErzengelDesLichtes Looking up the c to f for 5-10c made my brain rationalize the equation to convert between c and f. for every +5 c = +9f. 5c is 41f, 10c is 50f. Like used the f=9/5c +32 and c=5/9(f-32) in school but never thought it through

For every day use, I just say 2f ~= 1c, starting from one of the 3 "default values" I listed above. It's close enough for most purposes. If it needs to be accurate I'll be using a computer (and not f) anyway.

AS A PARENT! I have NEVER forgotten my child at the store, in the back of my car, at the Mall/Zoo/Fry's Foods/etc. I have driven past my daughter's school ONCE on my way to work and almost forgot to stop. Looking in the rear view mirror, I saw my kid and circled the block to get back to the school.

Wow having a winter that is just having +5 to +10 sounds like a nightmare to me.
You know as a Swede people think that like -20 to -35 is going to be unbelievably cold, and super horrible.
I think our standard winter is like -10 ish.
But I’ll take that over months of 5 degrees anytime. It’s so wet and gray.
When it gets really cold it gets extremely dry, and I’ll take dry cold over wet cold all days of the week.
-15 is pretty chill, as long as it’s not windy. Snow stays frozen on your gloves and hat. You can walk around on dry non wet snow, that is light and powdery. So you can be outdoors and do stuff, because things stay dry.
And also snow reflects so much light, it makes those months seem so much brighter and undisturbed snow is really beautiful.
The last few winters we have had next to no snow at all, which was a first for my lifetime to get a winter without snow (*cough* climate change *cough*).
And it was super depressing.
It was like 3 degrees, bouncing over and under 0, raining, dark, gray and wet for months and months. You couldn’t be outside at all more or less all winter.
Everyone hated it, except some drivers who were over the moon.
But it was nice to not have to get out the snow shovel I guess.
Either way I feel for him. +5 sucks. +10 is pretty okay though, that’s warm-ish.
I am happy I found your channel you were the reason I was able to get my father to get a DND set and we have started a campaign so I thank you for that :)
