29:30 "so and sos disrespected me" is code word for "I have NO emotional self control." I'm so proud of Ebro he's dropping so MUCH knowledge during this interview, i see him having a kid on the way, has calmed him down a lot! i hope August truly hears what he's saying to him. i'm proud of this young man he's been through a lot i'm gonna pray that he remains humble and successful, he deserves it his album is the truth! #testimony
She kept pushing the fact that He didn't wanna talk about the trey songz beef situation. He had told her prior to not ask him that and she kept pushing it so... Yeah she asked for it.
He's still young. I don't think he's arrogant..he's just a regular person at the end of the day. I like him:))) I'm tired of listening to those other media trained boring people! August Alsina is Awesome!!
This is one of the best interviews I've watched in a minute. It was REAL! I even learned something. I swear its always a good interview when August is around. He has a lot of wisdom for a young man. Great interview
I respect everything that he said in this interview. To me, he spoke nothing out of line. The media tries to ask these questions that "the people want to know" when in all actuality, NO the people don't really care because they've gotten the answer already in previous interviews... certain people just want ratings and what to add the drama to a perfectly fine situation (interview). Just like Lil Kim did Rocsi on 106 (regarding Nicki Minaj) and how Chris Brown did Robin Roberts on GMA (regarding Rihanna). Put these damn media people in check!
Ebro is so real in this interview! August has a lot to learn about backing down from 'beefing' w/ folks. Ebro is basically telling him, "you're the next Chris Brown" if you're not careful.
precisely. Proof that it isn't about where you come from but where you are going. He is a wise man. August though....for someone from the hood I expected more maturity....becuaseit takes maturity to survive in the hood, I should know.
I appreciate the young man's honestly and hope he continues to be as confident and fearless. I also really appreciate the men trying to teach and pass on words of wisdom. Nice job Ebro and Rosenberg.
however you wanna look at it, he is learning how to move in a room full of snakes, ebro mos def kicked some relatable and tru knowledge that not only applies to aug but any man going thru a rough circumstance while trying to remain sane. i salute
Im from New Orleans , Augusts attitude comes from growing up in a place where you have to view the real world at a early age , he isnt done maturing and he knows that , but compared to many of these dudes .. hes very wise . So him having to care for himself and be real with himself , bullshit & lies will only rub him the wrong way . Hes gonna speak the truth to anyone , just like he would want anyone to be real with him .
at the end of the day, "you gotta pick your battles wisely" and yes, young people are going to make mistakes, let's just ask our Heavenly Father to watch over our baby boys and see them to a brighter day as they grow and become wise men.
I respect him for at least admitting he fucked up during that BET incident. And Ebro made a good point when he said august alsina started the trey songz talk. He also made a good point saying it was the medias job to ask stuff like that.
i almost cried watching this interview, to just think about being successful in whatever your doing and your loved ones aren't even able too see it is just heart breaking, this is probaly the most deepest interview i ever watched and im glad i watched it
+layla lee ..The heartbreak is that he and his mom ( who is alive) they don't get along that well. So, he's out here on his own trying to figure shit out without someone really having his best interest at heart. That's what's really messed up.
This was a good interview. I don't really rock with a lot of artists these days cuz I think they're all sellouts with nothing to talk about but I actually really like august. He's true to himself and has actual lyrical context.
I always appreciate August Alsina interviews always leave with a lesson learn. He always seems genuine. Ebro got deep with his teaching too! I love this.
Man, I would've said the same thing to her if I told them not to ask me about a certain topic. If ya'll wouldn't speak up, I don't know what to tell you. Replacing "shit" with another one is still the same sentence, just minus a curse word.
Good interview! Imma pray for August tho. He has good intentions but his attitude makes him an easy target for negativity. I appreciate Ebro trying to kick knowledge to him. Unfortunately, August has this "I know everything" attitude when he knows nada.
Yo as a young black man from the streets I can feel everything he about cause half of these artist are not who they say they are but he is u can tell but I hope he never change cause he real
I don't look at Chris brown as a bad person swear I love him so much n I will continue to love him everyone makes mistakes just because he's a celebrity it means he has to perfect no so yeah I love u Chris no mater what #Teambreezy for lyfe
I'm glade he had that talk with August because even tho I felt he didn't do nothing wrong at bet, because he spoke how he felt, and be honest at time we as human beings say what we feel without thinking.ijs. but Ebro was just giving him some advise, don't get pulled into the negative, because u do have something to lose, verses someone who doesn't... love August! just do music, keep God first and it all will pay off.I'm out!
His interviews are always very enlightening. Everyone gets real and serious. I always gain a new, improved, as well as Confirmed perspective. I've realized just listening to him speak that we share a Very similar story. I'm definitely becoming a fan. His thought process is very intriguing, and he certainly has that "power." I wish him nothing but the best, and can only hope and pray that he doesn't let anything deter him from his path, nor distract him from his focus. It'd be too dope to have a conversation with him . . . And I only feel that way about maybe 3 other artists. I don't really get into the hype of celebrating celebrities, following their lives and putting them on pedestals. But I definitely will support Anyone humble, grateful, focused, determined, real, honest, and conscious. PLEASE, DON'T EVER CHANGE! Just continue to grow. Seek Peace. Find Happiness. Reap Love.
Serena Alese yeah no problem: ) Exactly. I feel like it's almost a washed up, way of thinking nowadays 😕 plus ima 90s kid and i used to LOVE music so much coming up. Now, to see more public figures like Austin, brings hope to those who needs it most. Fame isn't who we all are.
This was an excellent interview between Ebro & August Alsina. I like when August has interviews with Ebro because they always end up being genuine conversations. There is a good exchange of perspectives between Ebro and August. Plus as a bonus, August is able to gain a little positive knowledge in the end. Sway is another person who conducts good interviews. Being someone that has been an August fan for a few years, I am proud to see the additional mainstream success he has obtain. August works hard and it's annoying to see that being overshadowed by irrelevant things at times. I see your work ethic! Keep staying positive and continue not to give any validity to the negativity August!
i like the fact that he doesn't sugar coat anything, its so hard to find somebody that speaks straight from the heart on public platforms these days, so i respect him for that
I see what you mean but I really hope he can find a way to stay himself and keep steady success like Boosie or T.I. I want him to be great because the industry needs more artists like him.

We all support You August Alsina , just keep your head straight you have fans and people that love you don't let the social media bring you down you've worked so hard.💚
The actual mistake was even admitting in a filmed interview that he didn't mess with Trey Songz. I don't think he realized all the blogs and interviewers were going to run with "2 RnB cats beefin". He is new to the game, though. A seasoned artist like Jay-Z or even Trey Songz himself, know not to put that out there. He was just being honest, but you can't be too honest with all these interviewers. 75% of them are just trying to get somebody to say something on their show that is controversial.
Honestly nobody would've cared if it was an established big time male artist but since he is a new artist it's a problem. All artist before doing interviews give them a list of what they are not to speak on or ask them some interviewers try to sneak it in or bypass it and this just happened to be his reaction to it. Now yes, he could've spoke to her in a nicer way, but it gets frustrating when ppl basically bypass what they have knowledge of not to go into it comes off disrespectful which is why he reacted the way he did. He will learn to be a lil calmer in certain situations. If that had been Chris brown, 50 cent etc I bet they would not have asked anything they were briefed on not to go into.
This was like an intervention/therapy session for August. I liked it. Ebro said some real shit. I think he'd benefit from actual therapy though. You can tell he carries a lot of pain around inside him. Sucks that he doesn't have any friends. Being in the position he's in now, I'm completely get why it's hard for him to trust. You never know what ppl motive is. So many users out here.
This was the best interview they had on the radio good job guys fr & August im going to always be a fan of you, Chris Brown because you 2 are 2 genuine ass rnb singers that I can honestly relate to them because they fuck up & they admit when they are in the wrong & I love that because it just shows me how human they really are because I hate a celebrity that tries to act like they're perfect and their is nothing wrong with them because people like that always thinks that they're better than everyone and they always judge people alot but when in reality they aint shit themselves ...

I respect August for his humility and honesty man, & Ebro is speaking that truth! So many dudes get caught up in not wanting to look weak but if you are secure in your manhood and have a bright future, don't risk all of that over nonsense..
I got a lot of respect for the homie August, and this was a good interview btw. Can't wait to be in the position to be able to take care of my family. But it's hard to get you're feet in the door when you are a Gospel Rapper. God will make away. Keep your head up August.
Yo Ebro was dropping some knowledge towards the end. Us black men are too angry, we look to pop off at moment if we feel disrespected. I bet you the number of black men in prison would significantly if a lot of those guys didn't let their pride get in the way, or took a moment to analysis a situation and think, is this really worth it
crazy he says all this in the interview..but the title is still labeled "August admits BET incident was partially his fault"..still continuing that cycle of negativity
Love this interview, I can feel his pain, he's just to real for this Industry and will get hurt if someone doesn't take him in and show him the way! Very emotional and real deep for his age. He just needs to overlook the bullshit and try to find happiness in his self. Self love is needed.
+Dem Dimples ..I think Ebro is trying to be a mentor to him especially from the advice that he is giving him. I pray for his well being, and I pray he doesn't throw this opportunity away over some bullshit.
I think someone need to inform him don't put out every disagreement with these dudes in the industry and let them be great. Show ppl you're doing great and you as an artist is doing good regardless.... I love that he keeps it real but he gotta get his attitude together

I think someone need to inform him don't put out every disagreement with these dudes in the industry and let them be great. Show ppl you're doing great and you as an artist is doing good regardless.... I love that he keeps it real but he gotta get his attitude together
He's Making Sense. Point, Blank Period.. I Still Love Him And His Music.
It's clear he listens to Tupac interviews

ONE OF THE REALIST DEEPEST MODERN DAY INTERVIEWS EVER AND GOD BLESS AUGUST may You STAY YOU
I respect Ebro for this.
Definitely something to watch, you all touch a lot some of it very relatable as far as trust and staying away from bs. There's people out in the world won't understand!
@ some of these comments though..ok yeh we know august aint in the hood no more but its what he used to what he got to change for..just cause he makin more benjamins than he used to..thats what makes you stand out the fact that you bein real and yourself. so chill let him be him and we can gon bout being ourselves..

Kara O. I’m saying people need to mind their business. He can say what he wants it’s his mouth 💯
Great Interview and great lessons that have been learned being spoken in this.
I like Ebro’s interview questions and statements. August has grown from this which he should be proud of.
I'm a fan regardless, I love him and his music!
