This series was awesome. While the 2003 version was pretty much 80% series, the 2012 version was pretty much a perfect blend of comedic and serious. Much like the original Teen Titans as this series knows when to be funny and knows when to be dead serious. And the action is pretty damn good and LOVE how much of a badass Shredder is in this series (mainly because he is a lot more involved compared to his 2003 version).
Mikey also has the most potential if given the chance and trained well. He's pretty smart in his Mikey way and helped the team in many ways, from accidentally creating retro mutagen, finding out how to get in kraang hideouts, using kraang tech, and even able to operate a kraang attack ship and getting a power crystal for Donnie s mech. Plus he’s super clever. He was able to restore the seal controlling Kavaxus with some gum, successfully bait villains into traps, and his unpredictability makes him a hard target and virtually impossible to hit with his athletic abilities. Granted he can be a child and has been hurt a lot but that’s mainly due to the writers making him act like a fool. When really Michelangelo is probably the strongest amongst his brothers.
It’s canon in this version that master Splinter thinks Mikey has the most raw talent than his three bros combined, it’s just that Mikey goofs around too much
Ok I’ve seen a LOT of people miss a certain detail about Donnie’s relationship with April, and how if you apply psychological factors to it makes it seem less “creepy”. All four of the turtles grew up in a very socially secluded home, their only interactions came from each other and their Father, in the first 2 seasons or so they aren’t too familiar with how people work socially. Donnie as we all know is not the most naturally outgoing of the brothers, and being a teenager who JUST NOW met a girl he finds cute, this worsens his shyness. When you want to grow close to someone, as either a friend or more, it’s important to know what they like, but if you have a socially shy person with no people skills whatsoever, you tend to get a bit of distant observations. I wouldn’t go so far as to call it stalking, since that has more of an obsessive or harmful entitlement attached. Donnie doesn’t know how normal people get to know each other on a “romantic” basis, so for fear of making a fool of himself and potentially driving her away, he tries his best to find out what she likes so he doesn’t look like an idiot. Now the whole “My April” thing is something he got from fighting alongside his brothers, if someone wanted to hurt his brothers his usual retort would be “don’t hurt my brothers” But she isn’t his brother, and him used to adding “My” to people he is close to and the overthinking nature of his partially panicking mind added “April” at the end of my, and just after the moment you cut away from him saying that, he fixed his statement to just “April”. NOTE after Donnie gets to know her, his seemingly stalkerish behavior all but vanished, he knows her better now and he has no need to feel awkward around her and now understands how people work. Another instance of this social disconnect is with Timothy, Donnie pushes him away most times because he doesn’t understand how he thinks. He even tried to train Timothy both to help him protect himself, and because that’s how he knows how to bond with someone, that’s how he bonded with his brothers and father. I have a good friend who was also socially deprived in their childhood, and when they finally got a chance to socialize and almost immediately got a crush on someone, they also exhibited these same “stalkerish” traits. When I spoke to them about it they said that they didn’t know how else to become friends with them and was genuinely confused by how myself and others got close to people they liked. It’s nice to see more characters with this unique character to them, socially deprived people aren’t commonly portrayed as the “good guy” of the story, rather they are used to make a whiny clingy entitled antagonist almost every time. For this reason Donnie is not just my favorite turtle, but also my friend’s favorite, since they can very deeply connect with Donnie’s social. struggles. If you read this and think I’m defending stalking habits, you are very wrong, I’m defending socially deprived people from being labeled as stalkers.

This show didn’t get enough praise at the time I watched this show every day as a little 5 year old I think it’s the best TMNT we ever got and I don’t think it will ever be beaten
This was such a beautiful series... though it had a good run for 5 years, I felt it ended too soon. It left questions unanswered and arcs unfinished, like what happened to Pidgeon Pete and turning Mutagen Man back into Timothy.
to answer both you and @Shahir and rahma the reason mutagen man never got unmutated was because when he got frozen Donnie couldn't figure out how to thaw the ice and it would take 70 to thaw out naturally

This show was a huge part of my childhood, and I will cherish it forever. I enjoyed that it ended on a good note, but I feel more could have been done with this particular universe. I would have loved to see the Mighty Mutanimals have their own spin-off. They were my favorite characters, and I was always extra hyped when they would appear in an episode. It would have been an interesting idea, especially since the members are far more different and distinctive in regards to backgrounds and abilities. It's a shame Nickelodeon didn't capitalize on the success of this particular version and give it the respect it deserved.
I'll admit, I knew he was the most good out of the turtles, but I didn't expect him to be the most good in the entire series. Though, it may have been obvious on some instances and I was a bit too oblivious to the impactful things he's done.
BOOYAKASHA! About time! It feels like Splinter should've been above Leatherhead and even the fugitoid though, he has his flaws but this version of Splinter is arguably the most father-like Splinter yet.
The thing I love about the show is Leatherhead, and throughout the show you can see his hue of green fade to more of a gray to show age and that is something I never would have thought of and I love it....he needs more love and attention along with the show in general Although it doesn't help when I did try to keep up with the show I got completely lost in the line of episodes and just stopped whatching yet never forgot the name Leatherhead

Awesome vid as always! Personally I would have put Splinter lower down the list and Raphael higher. While I absolutely loved Splinter for his complexity, I also hated him. Which is what makes the character so interesting to me. The way I see it, like WickedBinge mentioned, he puts a lot of pressure on Leo but in a very unhealthy way and it's borderline abusive at times. For example, in the season one finale, Splinter basically told Leo to sacrifice everything (meaning his own life) to save the world while he stayed behind (which April pointed out very rightfully as selfish). Another example, towards the end of the fourth season, Splinter hinted to Leo he was going to die soon and that Leo would then be responsible for everyone. Then went with the three others all smiles while leaving Leo all alone confused and scared knowing what burden he would have carry very soon while his brothers got to be happy and oblivious. He plays on Leo's selfless and courageous nature to get the dirty work done for him. He leans on Leo as some kind of emotional crutch because he knows how ready his eldest is ready to go out of his way to help. Really dick move as far as I'm concerned... Raph maybe a jerk at times but he's way less selfish and much braver than Splinter in this incarnation.
@@fightingmedialounge519 That particular moment is more about how he asks a lot of Leo but he isn't willing to do the same. He expected his teenage son to do the whole sacrifice thing and didn't offer to help him in any way. The abusive part is how he often demands much more than what he's willing to give.
@@karanhdream except splinter has no issue sacrificing himself, he literally tried killing him and shredder in season 4, and he never really asked Leo to get himself killed and instead just warned him that it was a decision he needed to think about. He never ask his sons to perform a task he couldn't; he just sets criteria they have to meet if they want to be vigilantes( something the turtles volunteered to do).
Yeah I love this Splinter, but he’s more of a sensei than a father, placing high expectations on his oldest son and not having individual moments with his other sons, sometimes he gives them individual lessons. Which is why I love the othe

Ninja Turtles 2012 was easily the best in my opinion, the storyboard is so good. The plots are just phenomenal and it definitely is the darkest type making it a different approach than before versions.

For what you said about Kavaxas, that even shredder realized how necessary it was to defeat him, shredder wasnt in control almost for the entire episode. Kavaxas probably lost the grip of shredder's mind, so shredder took advantage of that.

Honest to god tho, this show hit a nerve that no nick show has hit me before, don’t know if it’s the cheesy lines that make me giggle to myself or the fact that I like fight sequences whenever they come on screens but this show is awesome to me, I love just rewatching certain scenes for the funny moments or the cool moves but I will rewatch the series 5 times over before it becomes repetitive

This was such a beautiful series... though it had a good run for 5 years, I felt it ended too soon. It left questions unanswered and arcs unfinished, like what happened to Pidgeon Pete and turning Mutagen Man back into Timothy.

This show was a huge part of my childhood, and I will cherish it forever. I enjoyed that it ended on a good note, but I feel more could have been done with this particular universe. I would have loved to see the Mighty Mutanimals have their own spin-off. They were my favorite characters, and I was always extra hyped when they would appear in an episode. It would have been an interesting idea, especially since the members are far more different and distinctive in regards to backgrounds and abilities. It's a shame Nickelodeon didn't capitalize on the success of this particular version and give it the respect it deserved.

BOOYAKASHA! About time! It feels like Splinter should've been above Leatherhead and even the fugitoid though, he has his flaws but this version of Splinter is arguably the most father-like Splinter yet.
The thing I love about the show is Leatherhead, and throughout the show you can see his hue of green fade to more of a gray to show age and that is something I never would have thought of and I love it....he needs more love and attention along with the show in general

Personally I would have put Splinter lower down the list and Raphael higher. While I absolutely loved Splinter for his complexity, I also hated him. Which is what makes the character so interesting to me. The way I see it, like WickedBinge mentioned, he puts a lot of pressure on Leo but in a very unhealthy way and it's borderline abusive at times. For example, in the season one finale, Splinter basically told Leo to sacrifice everything (meaning his own life) to save the world while he stayed behind (which April pointed out very rightfully as selfish). Another example, towards the end of the fourth season, Splinter hinted to Leo he was going to die soon and that Leo would then be responsible for everyone. Then went with the three others all smiles while leaving Leo all alone confused and scared knowing what burden he would have carry very soon while his brothers got to be happy and oblivious.
He plays on Leo's selfless and courageous nature to get the dirty work done for him. He leans on Leo as some kind of emotional crutch because he knows how ready his eldest is ready to go out of his way to help. Really dick move as far as I'm concerned... Raph maybe a jerk at times but he's way less selfish and much braver than Splinter in this incarnation.
It's not really borderline abusive to tell trying to save the world they should be willing to sacrifice themselves.

He expected his teenage son to do the whole sacrifice thing and didn't offer to help him in any way. The abusive part is how he often demands much more than what he's willing to give.
@@karanhdream except splinter has no issue sacrificing himself, he literally tried killing him and shredder in season 4, and he never really asked Leo to get himself killed and instead just warned him that it was a decision he needed to think about. He never ask his sons to perform a task he couldn't; he just sets criteria they have to meet if they want to be vigilantes( something the turtles volunteered to do).

Ninja Turtles 2012 was easily the best in my opinion, the storyboard is so good. The plots are just phenomenal and it definitely is the darkest type making it a different approach than before versions.

For what you said about Kavaxas, that even shredder realized how necessary it was to defeat him, shredder wasnt in control almost for the entire episode. Kavaxas probably lost the grip of shredder's mind, so shredder took advantage of that.
