ANNOUNCEMENT: We're launching an additional After Hours spinoff show, called "After Hours." From here on out we'll be releasing two episodes of After Hours every single month -- one with the new cast and one with the original cast! So just remember, everything's fine, no one is leaving, we're just trying to give you more After Hours. For more info, check out this article from Daniel O'Brien - www.cracked.com/blog/awkward-scenes-that-must-have-happened-in-marvel-movies
..... Ok. Aside from the instinctual negative response to change that people are having, it'll be a long hot minute before people will eventually warm up to the new additional cast, but people will warm up to them.
“We won’t stop sitting around this table and talking pop culture.” And five months later... they no longer sit around the table and talk pop culture, and the world is worse for it.
Have we been watching a different fuckin channel? Cracked has always been socially aware leftist or "woke" whatever shit you guys want to cringily criticize.
@@dorkmax7073 no. It went HARDCORE left with Cody's shitty news show that was literally just attacking anything deemed " right " etc. Before it was there but hardly noticable, then they went utterly stupid and slit their own throats.
??? cracked isnt a yt channel, it's a website. Before it was bought out, it was pretty politically incorrect (actually, that's not a great descriptor, it leaned into the whole "the internet is for oh so random nerds that like boobs, omg, so random" culture that was pretty prevelant in mid 2000s internet). The facts are, the site has always been targeting content at millenials, and, in general, that meant changing their tone to fit with the majority opinions. We can look back at content from 10+ years ago and enjoy the "edgy elitism" feeling from remembering that culture, but only a fool would think that media, whatever it is, would be as successful now. There's a reason there isnt a boobs section on cracked.com anymore. Did cracked go woke? Sure. But so did everyone else.
@@brokenman58 Cody's "shitty news show" consistently gets 500k views on its new channel. Some reach up into the millions. Far from broke, he is doing better now than before. I remember back in 2013-15 when conservative blowhards like you would constantly brigade this channel whenever they said something even slightly progressive. Hell, every video had a decent portion of dislikes because you snowflakes couldn't even handle that they said something you didn't like in a different video from 3 months prior.
If you think about it, that's true in the comics too. As far as I know the only confirmed time Hulk got some was when he was on planet S'Karr and wedded that grey skinned warrior woman.
Rewatching this a year later and seeing the end scene where they're all talking about who would miss them really hits hard knowing that the channel is done and there won't be any more pop culture theories and breakdowns like these.
Yeah, but even the Small Beans recreation hasn't aired in over a year, and the absence of Brian is severe. He sort of carried the premise by being the designated nerd who knew all the facts that needed to be brought up or verified for the discussion.
Wait, so now there's two groups of friends trapped in the permanent time loop where they talk about pop culture? Interesting. I enjoyed the "subtle" fourth-wall breaking in this episode. And while I adore the original cast, I'm excited to see how the new characters develop. I think we should give the new cast a chance. People are always asking for new After Hours anyway, and I think this is a clever way to do that. We can't always fear change. Sometimes change allows good things to happen. And like they said, no one is leaving. I'm excited to see what happens with this series.
While boat vs. Spaceship is pretty similar the circumstances mentioned were not similar enough for that Parallel to work. Living on a boat with your very human family and getting an awkward sex education from those people is fairly different than living on a spaceship and getting your sex education from Aliens who may actually have no clue how your biological functions actually operate. The only real similarity is a lack of privacy and even then most shows that include spaceships, including Guardians of the Galaxy, seem to imply that all the rooms of a spaceship are fairly well insulated other to the extent that you can have a battle to the death going on in one room and the room next to that be completely unaware of what is happening.
actually in a cosmic sense, this is now a WAY FUNNIER episode cause everyone said this would ruin them, AND IT DID!! its almost like knowingly causing a mass unsubbing of your fan base with your shitty politics is a BAD MOVE or something!?
The bit at the end where they talk about never stopping this show is full of dramatic irony, because here in the future we know that Cracked has cut down a lot on personnel, hence ending this amazing show forever
Only criticism I would give with the new cast is that there didn't seem to be enough interaction between them. Part of what makes After Hours so fun is that someone will present an idea, someone else makes a counter-argument and then a counter-counter-argument, but with the new cast they just presented the idea and everyone just sort of went with it. I imagine you had to cut down on the time available to have these back-and-forths so you could introduce them and reassure the fans that the old cast was also still sticking around. Definitely looking forward to double the After Hours episodes.
+MarchingGrrl First episodes of Agents of Cracked and Does not Compute where not instant gems either. I'll have to check another few times before I make a final judgment. I was a tad disappointed that none of the character really clicked. They don't feel that natural yet. People first didn't like Cody either (wrong, Cody is 3rd fav. after Swank and DOB) or the New Guy. I'm willing to wait a bit longer before all the puzzle pieces fall in place. I did had a bit trouble following the dialog though, pronunciation can use some work.
Yeah this didn't feel like a group of friends/co-workers getting together for a meal and discussing whatever crap came to mind. It felt like a group of strangers discussing something they were told to discuss. Chemistry may come in time.
Chemistry doesn't just come from time, it comes from actual Chemistry. All the people in this video aren't very good at acting, don't research their points even a tiny bit and lack the comedic charisma of the original members. It's not just because we're used to them. EVERY one of the people in this video has been on Cracked for a while and they have literally never improved.
Can't wait for the inevitable crossover episode where one gang shows up and their table is taken by the other.... and have overheard a point they don't agree with. "And that's why the Harry Potter universe is terrifying." "Oh man, you guys took our table." "This? This has been our table forever." "No we've been sitting here for -- hold up, did you say the Harry Potter universe is terrifying?" "Uh, yes. It's so obvious." "This is about to get real. Pull that table over here."
Taiken64 another crossover: 3 out of the four cast sit down at the table and the 4th is someone from the other cast and they just deal with it. If it's Dan who's missing then the other 3 can't QUITE figure out what's wrong.
It was immediately noticeable when the original cracked crew came back at the end that the new crew wasn't as motivated and expressive during their discussion, but I am willing to give them another chance with their next episode.
I don't know whether to laugh at the irony here, or just get mad. I've loved this show for years and the post scene clip with Michael, Katie, Soren and Daniel ragging jokes about not going anywhere etc etc. And here we are in December, just a few months later and from what everyone's talking about - Scripps Media sacked them all (bar Michael who quit?) and shut down the entire video production side of Cracked! And to top it all off, after destroying the video production and ditching 19+ fantastic people from the books, all we're left with as consumers, is a website run by David goddamn Wong and a huge cast of freelancers, while all the talent has been kicked to the curb.. What the hell, Cracked? I guess Scripps bought Cracked, so they could write some debts off. They've just about killed the brand.
PLOT TWIST: Cody the creepy waiter collected his own group of quirky friends and has forced them to hand out at this specific diner to simulate the original gang's conversations
And that would've made this way better. Instead of having another random group of people doing the exact same thing at the same table, it could've been the staff of the diner overhearing years of conversations about pop culture and then having their own conversations when their shift ends or in other words...after hours. This also would've helped with the fact that the new group seemed way more forced together and didn't have the same dynamic as the original group. Bringing multiple perspectives from people who are forced to be together because they work in the same place could've allowed for a fun new dynamic and could've allowed the characters to have their own unique personalities.
'Member when Cracked had hilarious writers and a skilled video team, not two writers, a dead youtube, and user forum posted memes for articles? PepperRidge Farms Remembers.
They're releasing 2 episodes of After Hours a month now instead of 1. One with the old cast and one with this cast. Nobody is leaving the show, they're just trying to give us more After Hours.
The challenge this new cast is going to face will primarily involve finding unique personalities for each of them: The first After Hours cast is so wonderful because they each embody a universally recognized nerd archetype: Daniel is the classic brainy, awkward, antisocial, Aspergersy nerd. Michael is the batshit-crazy, sex-obsessed wackjob pervert nerd. Soren is the "closet" nerd: The attractive, athletic, well-adjusted, and popular guy who happens to have a lot of geeky enthusiasms. And Katie is the quintessential "librarian hot" nerd girl: and far from being mere geeky eye-candy, she's the gang's den mother.... she's the voice of reason and moderation, always prepared to deflate Soren's ego, or reign in Michael's insanity, or bring Daniel back down to earth... The new cast can't simply recreate these archetypes with new actors playing essentially the same characters, they're going to have to find their own unique voices or this grand experiment will be a disaster.
Katie is so not the mother, even metaphorically. She's the secret crazy one, imo :D but I agree with the rest of that. Still, it's Cracked, so I have no doubt that the new ones will blossom into defined characters, much like the OG After Hours team did.
RebeckaRowan I respect your opinion, but what evidence do you offer to support it? I'm not demanding you justify your position, but when someone tells me I'm mistaken, I can't help being curious about their reasons for disagreeing.
Rewatching this now I finally caught this mistake: Captain America didn't stop Red Skull in 1942, he ENTERED the war in 1942. Him stopping Red Skull WAS in 1945 (the last year of the war) Arnim Zola clearly states in CA:TWS that he was taken prisoner by Cap in 1945. So if the train happened in '45 obviously the plane wasn't somehow 3 years earlier.
But that still means he was so wrapped up in Hydra stuff that he still has never been or yet to be told about the Hiroshima bombing. Heck he might be clueless on ALL your countries bombing of other countries in the span of those near 70 years. Otherwise he would've been nomad WAY sooner. Like right after the events of the winter soldier movie.
I just want to express my sincere appreciation for you guys finding a way to breathe new life into the show without dredging up the kind of weird drama that comes from cast changes. You've basically managed to pull off Doctor Who, if they had two regenerations running around at the same time. Also, love the new cast. They have a refreshingly different perspective, while not being so alien that it doesn't feel like the same show.
@@GOATexp fair enough lol I didn't enjoy the Disney Princes as much as this. I feel like there might 3 then, cause I was thinking they had another topic, but I def remember the DP.....that sounds bad lmao Idk though
No. The Allies invaded Europe in 1944. If Cap had to fly across the front to get into Austria, it had to be in the fall of '44. Then they fought in snow. Then Germany surrendered in the spring of '45.
Cracked: I don't dislike this but I really think it would be a good idea to call it something different, like (and bear with me here its a working title) After After Hours. I think part of the bad reaction is because people came here expecting After Hours, and while this isn't bad, it's definitely fundamentally different from After Hours. Without Swaim, Katie, Soren, and DO'B, it's just a bit of a cocktease to call it After Hours
I agree with you. I was so busy wondering WTF was going on and thinking that the original people had left the show that I didn't really give these new people a fair chance. It may work out well, but this was a lousy introduction.
Anthony Sforza I TOTALLY shared a similar Friends swap sentiment when I realized this was a real thing they were doin... Like turning on an episode that says Friends but the cast is Seinfeld. It was jarring, I guess, at first but I'll watch bc Cracked hasn't ever disappointed before to my recollection
After Hours isn't great because of the content. Cracked already has several shows that go over pop-trivia with friends. What makes AH so great is the characters and their chemistry. I didn't really get a friendship vibe from any of the new cast. It just seemed forced, like College Humor was about a year ago. I couldn't continue after the pirate joke.
It feels like some of the newer characters are underdeveloped - whether or not they're as comedically gifted or gel together as a group remains to be seen, but realistically it'd be pretty foolish to put 4 people who have never done an AE next to people who have been doing it since 2010 and expect the same standard. There's 7 years of character development behind the current cast. I'll be honest and say this episode felt a little weak - in a season-4-of-community kind of way, but it's a spinoff. It's going to take time for these characters to develop, and I look forward to where this one goes.
This is cool! Admittedly this newer cast is a bit stiff, but with time I'm sure they'll ease into their unique dynamic. Good luck guys, I'm looking forward to even more After Hours!
We all had that "hey, maybe somewhere some people are having a dynamic similar to ours but it doesn't mean we'll stop existing!" talk with our group of friends at one point or the other.
The original cast is magical, but the new cast...has potential. The actors are fine but the CHARACTERS seem like they could use some development. I'm looking forward to what's to come.
To the Captain America point..Cap did sacrifice his life to take out the biggest evil in the world in 1942 which was Hydra and The Red Skull..the second biggest evil was Hitler and his Nazi regime..
There's actually MORE "after hours"! After all these years! Though the name is Off-Hours and there's only one character from the original AH. One episode so far, but it was really good. You can check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/sdl3e4AzpF8/v-deo.html
A little over a year before this video came out, Cracked was bought by the E. W. Scripps Company. This was seen as a good thing because Scripps wanted to reach people who are too young to take print media seriously, and Cracked needed money. Shortly before this was released, Jack O'Brien left, and a few months later, Soren and Michael did as well, but for different reasons. That December, Scripps laid off 25 employees, including Dan, Cody, and for some inexplicable reason, the entire video team, even though they were the major drivers of traffic to the site. They're all doing different things now, but Michael has revived After Hours as Off-Hours on its own channel.
The deliveries on "speak for yourself, boat prude" and "hulk never smash" and a number of other lines made this a gold episode. I wanna make my support of this second cast known to counteract a bit of the hate that we all know they are gonna get.
you probably know they will get hate, because they weren't funny, and they're different from what people expected. Thou, more likely; you are just being sexist and oblivious to it.
MotherAce I knew they would get hate because they're different from the other cast, because people (like you, I'm sure) get mad when they have to process different faces than they're used to. Your random accusations are stupid and you're annoying, go away, troll
Ah, different. How are they different. Can you be more specific? Because for me it wasn't nothing about their faces that annoyed me, except perhaps someone bringing back the 70s in a bad way.
Not that I mind having a second cast do a second after hours skit per month, I don't know if dropping them right onto us was the best way to handle the introduction. There wasn't even a moment to establish their character and traits. Who is representing what type of character archetype? They all seem like the same kind of person, which is going to make this sound like one opinion arguing with itself. What are their names even? They never addressed each other by their names so they don't even feel like friends. Just random strangers who sat down at a table and started talking.
mandud987 dude, I'm critiquing so they can get some perspective and improve the new cast. Guess I'm the stupid one for sharing feedback because I want the new cast to be good too. Sorry
Zee Kay Those aren't bad points, but I'm optimistic about it. Cody has been heavily involved in a lot of videos, Carmen has been appearing more and more, and I believe at least one of the other two has been in a today's topic. They usually do well, it could be great...I'm glad the usual group isn't quitting though!
The main issue is a lack of confidence and-as you said-distinct character types. In solo videos I've seen from some of these guys they display charisma and energy, but here they just seemed to all speak in the same softly spoken manner and without particularly much enthusiasm. It didn't feel like people or friends talking-but a bunch of inexperienced actors. There was a point when I was younger that I thought After Hours was ad-libbed between four friends-this just felt fake
Bruce Banner was a good looking doctor who canonically was a party animal during college, so he's definitely not a virgin. Since the accident, though, he's probably just been going solo. I guarantee you that half the reason he went into meditation and yoga and tantra and all that was to find a way to release the beast without having to release the beast.
He definitely wasn't a party animal in the comics, at least not in the main Earth-616 timeline. The Joe Fixit (gray Hulk) persona is basically a sum of his suppressed (sexual) desires from his teen and college years, the same way the regular green Hulk stems from him having to hide his intelligence and emotions in his childhood for the fear of his lunatic father. Up until becoming Hulk, Banner always locked all his emotions inside, which is why Hulk is so angry in the first place: he's the sum of decades of simmering frustration and resentment all released in a flash. And while in the MCU we haven't really gotten the details of his life previous to becoming the Hulk, I can't recall seeing anything that would greatly depart from the comics in this regard.
In "The Incredible Hulk", he has a conversation with Arwen about "Remember when we were tripping our nuts off on LSD back in grad school? Being the Hulk is exactly like that." So, far as I'm concerned, clinical trial or not, Banner was a beast even before he got gamma'd up. Also, though most of the direct references were written out before filming began, the MCU-canon Hulk movie did start out as a sequel to the Ang Lee Hulk movie. It's safe to say that movie's not canon anymore, being as it's from a different creative team and a different studio, but I feel comfortable assuming that the broad strokes of that film may have happened in some way in Banner's past.
He does indeed say it was during clinical studies they volunteered for during Grad School, presumably for sweet sweet credits, but have you ever taken part in a clinical study that involved the use of street drugs? Speaking from experience, literally everybody there is either already a user of said drugs, or is just there to try it out. That said, that, his extensive career researching gamma radiation, and the fact that he once knew a guy who owns a pizza parlor are literally the only things we know about Bruce Banner before the accident, and that's a problem I can't imagine they're going to solve any time soon. A shame, really.
My only real problem with this cast is that the OG cast actually seemed like friends. From episode 1 it felt like they knew each other. This just jumped straight into it. We learned their personalities well enough, but there is nothing really established. They seem like they just randomly sat in four chairs that just so happened to be next to each other. If you do continue with the new group establish character relationships. We knew and enjoyed how the cast treated Daniel from episode 1. We knew that Michael is supposed to be weird, loudmouthed and how the others in the group react to him. It was the same with the others. We need a reason to care for the people sitting in the diner. Otherwise it just turns into white noise.
It's gonna take some time to process how I feel about this....but I do see potential. So far I can only offer one criticism: I generally only watch After Hours, and other videos that the original AH cast has performed in (OPCD, Agents of Cracked, Cracked For Kids, Does Not Compute, Dispatches From Goddamn Space, etc.). And Honest Ads, of course ;) This means I have NO CLUE who any of these people are except for Cody. I think the first few episodes of Bizarro After Hours would benefit greatly from an opening animated sequence introducing and naming the characters, like old school AH had in its first season. I mean I can't just continue to call them Afro Chick, Boat Girl, Redhead, and Cody forever :D
I don't think Cody's very funny, either. He just ... kinda ... does ... y'know .. those awkward pauses ... that make him sound ... kinda weedie. Not that there's anything inherently wrong with that brand of humor, I just don't really find it funny because "I'm sorry, but I'm kinda not really sorry" was everywhere in the 90s and early 2000s which kinda wore it out. It's like entry-level sarcastic humor. IMO they picked him because they wanted to have a strong female-led cast and someone like Adam would have been too "in your face" and dominate the conversation. They needed the male cast member to be submissive to make it seem equal, but to be honest I think they took it a little bit too far; Katie isn't nearly as submissive in the other group. I just hope the humor for this new group is up to par or else this is gonna backfire and nobody will want female-led bits again. Attempting this with After Hours is a pretty risky venture, hope Cracked doesn't regret it.
I opened a video with the new group before seeing this video and was immediately uncomfortable and scrolled through the channel looking for newer episodes with the original crew, but then I stumbled upon this flawless introduction of the new group and I've got to say this was incredibly well executed, I am 100% down to watch both groups now, and I'm excited to see what the new people will have to bring to the table
this is the worst idea on earth. good luck cracked. don't worry. the whole world is all about vaginas. not talent or originality or authenticity of any kind at all. none of that matters. just vaginas.
The fans: We're tired of these text-based videos where we have to read! Cracked: Ok, now Daniel O'Brien narrates them. The fans: We want more OPCD! Cracked: Ok, now there's EPCD and it's a fucking hour long, boom. The fans: We want more After Hours! Cracked: Ok, now there's twice as many, with interesting new characters. Can I just... thank you. I know a lot of people are being negative in the comments but I really appreciate this.
"Interesting" new characters. Maybe for some people. The breakdown and analysis were both good in this episode, which is about half the reason I watch, but the jokes and attempt at conveying personalities, not quite there yet.
For someone named "KingofSting" you really pulled your punches on this comment. This is the UA-cam comments section, you're supposed to yell about how much you hated something.
I am intrigued by this spin off. Some notes. Don't have them try to be clones of the other characters. Feel free to give them their own quirks and personalities! Otherwise I look forward to seeing how this develops!
I like the different quirks these people have compared to the usual setup. Very well-written. Wait, does this mean that every time they get food, it's because they took a table that other people left before their food arrived? Besides the episode about adult torture, do they ever actually order things?
Turn up the volume on asmr black girl. Female boat Michael is solid. Sad Carmen remains funniest Carmen. You forgot to give Cody a character. Shows promise. Could use more intercharacter interaction.
I agree with all of these criticisms. I'm willing to stick it out because I like the.... After Hours genre? And I think this cast will get better the more they do this.
I am eternally grateful that Swaim brought us Off Hours, but after this episode im still sad that Dan, Soren and Katie are still not gonna be adding their perspectives and personalities to the conversation
Right!!! I didn't know if anyone else noticed it, in many ways this made me feel like the "B" team was a sad rip off, like they weren't their own individuals.
Excited to see where the new cast takes After Hours. Thought it was a really good first episode and transition into it. Plus two episodes a month is great!
I like how excessively clear they are about how they aren't changing the cast. Especially because of how completely necessary it is. If they were any less clear: I probably would have flipped my desk.
Snoozie I don't know the crew by name but I like glasses guy n brunette girl. It felt like they were having a slightly awkward conversation, but the others just felt like they were remembering lines.
@@jamescrane9721agreed. I think the issue was the original cast had characters that were themselves, turned up. The only people here with any character at all are DrMr Cody and the brunette. The other two were just people you met at a college party.
I'm looking forward to this new team up. The writing has always been great but the last dozen After Hours haven't felt right to me. I preferred Katie as the slightly awkward but passionate girl she was in the initial seasons rather than the over confident moraliser she seems to be in later episodes and I feel like all of the characters have fallen into kind of a rut where they can't develop further, only become more meta and apathetic as time goes on. A new team up is exactly what the show needs, and I'm looking forward to the inevitable 8 person round table discussion that will happen at some point. Also I love that the topic of conversation was: "-The Holocaust -Sex Ed in space -Kimia's parent's sex lives -More sex ed in space -Tony Stark and Aunt May sexing it up -The depressing sex life of Bruce Banner -The depressing sex lives of all the Avengers" One of these things is not like the others.
This aged poorly. Those 'new owners' or w/e who decided video content wasn't the 'way of the future' or whatever years and years ago and got rid of these jobs, I'm staring into your soul and I hope you feel it. I hope it's uncomfortable. I hope the Emmy's and successful careers of certain alumni are even more uncomfortable weights. HMPH. I am glad Cracked is putting out video content again but After Hours is irreplaceable. At least I can still enjoy the times we used to have. :(
It's more After Hours that doesn't replace the old, and the new peeps are pretty decent, I think they just need a bit of time to work out the kinks, so I'm all for it! P.S. I will demand a crossover at some point. Possibly one group sitting at the next table and overhearing the conversation and then joining in, or maybe them all arriving at the same time and fighting over the table, preferably settling the argument with a pop culture debate.
+Nate - The New Group (TNG) can uncover and blow the lid on the whole secret SWAIM experiment. During the course of their X-Files investigation, Swaim's roomate Mr Noob joins TNG, but it's revealed that he is a spy sent to watch over the Swaim project, setting up a confrontation between TNG & Noob, eventually revealing his work for the powers that be in conspiracy that reaches all the way to the top!!
The four humors live on in all of us, the players are just wearing masks anyhow. If you're reading this, text your nerdiest friend with a weird posit about a pop culture thing, even if you're just playing devils advocate. The diner was inside you all along!
I'm went with the initial 'I had the i hate change' mind set and as it progressed I got excited about having new people to see evolve through the format then when I realized that there is going to be double the after hours per month I got quite stoked. Although i do wonder if Starline is going to be in both after hours during the month.
They're still using the old cast just giving the audience (who have asked many times) even more after hours content in a way that works for them (although I obviously don't know all the ins and outs of it). You can of course have any opinion you want

If you think about it, that's true in the comics too. As far as I know the only confirmed time Hulk got some was when he was on planet S'Karr and wedded that grey skinned warrior woman.
That's why Banner is angry all the time.
Rewatching this a year later and seeing the end scene where they're all talking about who would miss them really hits hard knowing that the channel is done and there won't be any more pop culture theories and breakdowns like these.
Rip pre-politics Cracked.
Why is the channel done?
@@larrycarroll1791 from what I've gathered, cracked was bought out by a new media organization and the video department was laid off
Off hours on Micheal swaims channel "small beans" is a recreation of this. It references the series. Also the podcasts are dope
Yeah, but even the Small Beans recreation hasn't aired in over a year, and the absence of Brian is severe. He sort of carried the premise by being the designated nerd who knew all the facts that needed to be brought up or verified for the discussion.
My one feedback would be is put some sort of distinction between the after hours og and the new one like, after after hours or something
I concur. I want to know which episodes not to click.
Masteroftheweb savage
They should add the Burger King Kids Club logo. :D
Really thought they would mention the parallel of living on a boat, with living on a spaceship, and how they are basically the same thing.
But nothing is even changing, it's just bonus stuff.
I feel happy that you're excited about this piece of shit. I'll leave it up to you to give them views.
Oh boy, this is way less funny now that Cracked died.
That promise at the end now hurts... we are never going to see them sat round a table again, are we?
I was just gonna make that comment about this being a painful and sad ending because irony it did end a couple weeks later.
actually in a cosmic sense, this is now a WAY FUNNIER episode cause everyone said this would ruin them, AND IT DID!!
its almost like knowingly causing a mass unsubbing of your fan base with your shitty politics is a BAD MOVE or something!?
DwarfyDoodad I mean, if by "a couple weeks" you mean about 5 months, then yeah
Tezla Alchemia But that’s not what happened... The writers were fired because someone bought the company and just did for money
The bit at the end where they talk about never stopping this show is full of dramatic irony, because here in the future we know that Cracked has cut down a lot on personnel, hence ending this amazing show forever
The ending of this one has suddenly become painful, now that most of those guys have left.... we miss you!
You promised me you'd do this forever! You promised me! Damn you Cracked!
I remember how shitty the first episode of Cracked TV was. I have high hopes for the new cast, I liked this first episode.
Give it time. I bet it will get better. But also, they definitely need constructive feedback like this to help them.
+MarchingGrrl
First episodes of Agents of Cracked and Does not Compute where not instant gems either.
Just rewatched this and realized the commitment to keep going from either group won’t be kept 😢😖😭😫
That's because they just weren't funny at all. Like shitty, cheap knockoffs of the originals
Can't wait for the inevitable crossover episode where one gang shows up and their table is taken by the other.... and have overheard a point they don't agree with.
"And that's why the Harry Potter universe is terrifying."
"Oh man, you guys took our table."
"This? This has been our table forever."
"No we've been sitting here for -- hold up, did you say the Harry Potter universe is terrifying?"
"Uh, yes. It's so obvious."
"This is about to get real. Pull that table over here."
Taiken64 ha, yes
This MUST happen now
Taiken64 another crossover: 3 out of the four cast sit down at the table and the 4th is someone from the other cast and they just deal with it. If it's Dan who's missing then the other 3 can't QUITE figure out what's wrong.
They would argue but not before an extremely long and completely pointless fight scene.....yeah I'd watch that.
But this was clearly the inevitable crossover. You just watched it.
It was immediately noticeable when the original cracked crew came back at the end that the new crew wasn't as motivated and expressive during their discussion, but I am willing to give them another chance with their next episode.
Amenduh Bainez totally agree. New crew had no pulse
Cracked had to explain the second after hours like a parent explaining a pregnancy to a toddler.
mcamurray 😂yes
Make sense. Nerds aren't mentally mature. They can't handle change like toddlers haha
winning comment! thanks
Like Yondu to Peter?
Because like toddlers people on the internet flip out at the smallest things
Then ending is sad...now that Cracked is done
Why is cracked done?
@@larrycarroll1791 they fired their whole creative team in late 2017.
So.. can we get that Coen brothers episode?
Ique no because just like in coen brothers movies just cause you want something doesn't mean you'll get it and when you do get it you may not want it
Joseph Raymond crushed my dreams :(
Well... I guess we can at least imagine it. What play is Oh Brother? It's the Odyssey yes, but is there a Shakespeare play in there as well?
That would be cool
Never!
CODY IS A CREEPY WAITER, WHO'S THIS DUDE
They NEEd to address the fact he was the creepy waiter.
creepy waiters need friends too
PLOT TWIST: Cody the creepy waiter collected his own group of quirky friends and has forced them to hand out at this specific diner to simulate the original gang's conversations
If I remember right the first dinner had a fire?
And that would've made this way better. Instead of having another random group of people doing the exact same thing at the same table, it could've been the staff of the diner overhearing years of conversations about pop culture and then having their own conversations when their shift ends or in other words...after hours. This also would've helped with the fact that the new group seemed way more forced together and didn't have the same dynamic as the original group. Bringing multiple perspectives from people who are forced to be together because they work in the same place could've allowed for a fun new dynamic and could've allowed the characters to have their own unique personalities.

They're releasing 2 episodes of After Hours a month now instead of 1. One with the old cast and one with this cast. Nobody is leaving the show, they're just trying to give us more After Hours.
aaronlewis02 Is this David Lynch!? Are we living David Lynch now!? I'm not ready for this!.... I don't know how to speak backwards!!
Brian Griffin that's pretty cool too*.*
With strangers. More After Hours with strangers. Why don't these people get a new show? I'm always interested when a new show pops up.
The challenge this new cast is going to face will primarily involve finding unique personalities for each of them:
The first After Hours cast is so wonderful because they each embody a universally recognized nerd archetype:
Daniel is the classic brainy, awkward, antisocial, Aspergersy nerd.
Maybe in the new cast they are each to embody a recognized blandness archetype.
so they'll be sharing the same archetype?
Katie is so not the mother, even metaphorically. She's the secret crazy one, imo :D but I agree with the rest of that. Still, it's Cracked, so I have no doubt that the new ones will blossom into defined characters, much like the OG After Hours team did.
RebeckaRowan I respect your opinion, but what evidence do you offer to support it?
I'm not demanding you justify your position, but when someone tells me I'm mistaken, I can't help being curious about their reasons for disagreeing.

"We are in a thing. This is us, in a thing."

david taylor Callbacks to the very first episode FTW
david taylor I KNEW i had heard that line before
Rewatching this now I finally caught this mistake: Captain America didn't stop Red Skull in 1942, he ENTERED the war in 1942.
Me: Why would After Hours have this many dislikes?

It seemed forced... if comedy is forced it ain't that funny
No. The Allies invaded Europe in 1944. If Cap had to fly across the front to get into Austria, it had to be in the fall of '44. Then they fought in snow. Then Germany surrendered in the spring of '45.

Soren you lied. You lied.
It's like seeing a thumbnail of early 2000s Matt Leblanc and showing up to watch Friends... but it's Joey.
GravitySloth perfectly said
Their delivery and chemistry isn't there yet. It feels like the personalities are forced
Their personalities are forced in *every video they have been in*. They are not good at this.
That ending is awkward af a couple months later.
This is cool! Admittedly this newer cast is a bit stiff, but with time I'm sure they'll ease into their unique dynamic. Good luck guys, I'm looking forward to even more After Hours!

As it stands now the risk of me ceasing to exist seems pretty high.
the new bunch seemed a bit tense, but i think they can get better
I love how they just addressed everything that is going to happen in after hours but people are still asking about it.
Sigh...
It's almost as if it's bizarre and out of left field.
I only watch the UA-cam Channel so. I did read the article link later.
It's a time honored UA-cam pastime to jump straight to the consent section to bitch about the video you didn't actually watch/pay attention to.
well OK not bad I hope they have better chemistry next time.
Im all for more after hours
EDIT: the original cast better keep going also, or im gonna, i duuno, do angry stuff.
How's that angry stuff going for you? >.>
Nope. Don't change it. These people have no charisma
The original cast is magical, but the new cast...has potential. The actors are fine but the CHARACTERS seem like they could use some development. I'm looking forward to what's to come.
Will you please do a Coen Brothers segment for real? Stop teasing us about it.

MotherAce awww, little troll wants to keep it going, poor troll
Not that I mind having a second cast do a second after hours skit per month, I don't know if dropping them right onto us was the best way to handle the introduction. There wasn't even a moment to establish their character and traits. Who is representing what type of character archetype? They all seem like the same kind of person, which is going to make this sound like one opinion arguing with itself. What are their names even? They never addressed each other by their names so they don't even feel like friends. Just random strangers who sat down at a table and started talking.
Zee Kay Excellent Comment...
Excellent!
Zee Kay dude calm down. No one ever said the pilot was the best episode of a show. (Except walking dead)
mandud987 dude, I'm critiquing so they can get some perspective and improve the new cast.

That sad “Hulk never smash” was f^cking hilarious
That's a reference to grad students in their day being paid to take LSD so colleges could study the effects. I think he even uses the word "studies"
How painful is watching that final scene in retrospect?
So now we have two casts.
*Top 10 anime plot twists*
I am okay with this. Looking forward to seeing the cast get into the flow of it.
Holy shit, Tom the Ska
We've done it. We've discovered the most obscure TomSka comment on another sketch channel.
6:23 "Hulk never smash... :.0"
Ha, I love how she says that. It's like she just found a hungry cold puppy in a rain soaked cardboard box.
And Honest Ads, of course ;)
This means I have NO CLUE who any of these people are except for Cody. I think the first few episodes of Bizarro After Hours would benefit greatly from an opening animated sequence introducing and naming the characters, like old school AH had in its first season.
I mean I can't just continue to call them Afro Chick, Boat Girl, Redhead, and Cody forever :D
I think Boat Girl can stay Boat Girl. We all like Boat Girl.
ben501st Yarr
Attempting this with After Hours is a pretty risky venture, hope Cracked doesn't regret it.
ben501st Yeah, if the comments are any indication, she's probably stuck with that name forever😆
This is... awkward
You know what is really awkward... That new cast.

Two sides to every coin. Maybe don't put out crap content in the first place?
I have time for a 10 min DOB OPCD. I do not have an hour.
But EPCD is nothing like OPCD. OPCD is Daniel geeking out for 10ish minutes. EPCD is just him and two other people having a conversation.
This was one of the funniest ways to create a spin-off, and one of the most heartbreaking to watch today.
I am intrigued by this spin off. Some notes. Don't have them try to be clones of the other characters. Feel free to give them their own quirks and personalities!
Otherwise I look forward to seeing how this develops!
Is it just me or was it hard to understand the audio on the "new" cast?
... Makes ya wonder what happened between this and 6 episodes later.
Please bring back After Hours!
So long as I get the original cast I'm happy
what does it matter?... they are basically the same characters anyway and it's still written by the same people
I like the different quirks these people have compared to the usual setup. Very well-written. Wait, does this mean that every time they get food, it's because they took a table that other people left before their food arrived? Besides the episode about adult torture, do they ever actually order things?
That is just more economical, IMO
They used to. At a minimum, Michael would seem to have eaten something on his and someone else's plate.
GenericKen000 so....u want the black girl to be loud.So you can complain that she is loud.hmmm.....
And suddenly female boat Michael will be her only name forever
Jalisa Cater no, her mic is too low. This is a mixing issue, not a race issue. I am saying this as a proud SJW - I want to hear her.
GenericKen000 very succinct. Very accurate.
Cap apparently lost his v-card while on tour
Worst. Service. Ever #neverforgetthecheesesticks
I am eternally grateful that Swaim brought us Off Hours, but after this episode im still sad that Dan, Soren and Katie are still not gonna be adding their perspectives and personalities to the conversation
Woah Woah Woah. Why does Cracked have two people who grew up on a boat? Surely this can't be true
PajamaPantsMonday right? I'm definitely looking forward to the boat off that must surely come out of this.
Right!!! I didn't know if anyone else noticed it, in many ways this made me feel like the "B" team was a sad rip off, like they weren't their own individuals.
I think they just pulled that from sarge's origin story haha
who is the other boatie?
Shariq Torres yeah, it's Sargen
Excited to see where the new cast takes After Hours. Thought it was a really good first episode and transition into it. Plus two episodes a month is great!
I like how excessively clear they are about how they aren't changing the cast. Especially because of how completely necessary it is. If they were any less clear: I probably would have flipped my desk.
I'm not liking the new cast they feel forced and a bit cringy. Their personalities just don't fit the humor you expect from this series.
Snoozie just give them some time, maybe they'll be better in the future
Snoozie yea this will improve with time, just like the old one did
Snoozie I don't know the crew by name but I like glasses guy n brunette girl. It felt like they were having a slightly awkward conversation, but the others just felt like they were remembering lines.
@@jtbaker743it in fact did not improve with time
@@jamescrane9721agreed. I think the issue was the original cast had characters that were themselves, turned up. The only people here with any character at all are DrMr Cody and the brunette. The other two were just people you met at a college party.
4 years later I am far more forgiving of this episode
I'm looking forward to this new team up. The writing has always been great but the last dozen After Hours haven't felt right to me.
I preferred Katie as the slightly awkward but passionate girl she was in the initial seasons rather than the over confident moraliser she seems to be in later episodes and I feel like all of the characters have fallen into kind of a rut where they can't develop further, only become more meta and apathetic as time goes on.
A new team up is exactly what the show needs, and I'm looking forward to the inevitable 8 person round table discussion that will happen at some point.
Also I love that the topic of conversation was:
"-The Holocaust
-Sex Ed in space
-Kimia's parent's sex lives
-More sex ed in space
-Tony Stark and Aunt May sexing it up
-The depressing sex life of Bruce Banner
-The depressing sex lives of all the Avengers"
One of these things is not like the others.
Everyone except the original 4 that wants to keep their jobs at cracked has to be an overconfident moralizer.
I always liked the second crew as well. Nothing can replace the OGs but the new crew was also enjoyable!
I have no problem with a second cast, but can you distinguish it from the original series in the title/thumbnail?
Nate TSO the cross over pop culture theory had to either be about doppelgangers or reboots
Or sequels and spinoffs!
Nate TSO your idea gave me a raging pop cultural mind boner
+Nate - The New Group (TNG) can uncover and blow the lid on the whole secret SWAIM experiment. During the course of their X-Files investigation, Swaim's roomate Mr Noob joins TNG, but it's revealed that he is a spy sent to watch over the Swaim project, setting up a confrontation between TNG & Noob, eventually revealing his work for the powers that be in conspiracy that reaches all the way to the top!!
Al Norris
Oh my god the huge sigh of relief at the end of the video!
I may be alone but I think it would be cool if they did a Family Guy episode where they treat the flashbacks as canon and the implications of it
The four humors live on in all of us, the players are just wearing masks anyhow. If you're reading this, text your nerdiest friend with a weird posit about a pop culture thing, even if you're just playing devils advocate. The diner was inside you all along!
The end of this episode breaks my heart.
I'm went with the initial 'I had the i hate change' mind set and as it progressed I got excited about having new people to see evolve through the format then when I realized that there is going to be double the after hours per month I got quite stoked. Although i do wonder if Starline is going to be in both after hours during the month.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Cracked and after hours can make entertaining content and I'm looking forward to even more after hours tbh and giving the new cast a go.
Hey thanks!
Why didn't this cast get their own show? This makes no sense.
Katy Banks no, don't encourage them Katy... lol
Am I allowed to be annoyed?
They're still using the old cast just giving the audience (who have asked many times) even more after hours content in a way that works for them (although I obviously don't know all the ins and outs of it). You can of course have any opinion you want
The end of this video really hits hard.
