I think I have seen others say this, but with my universe mode I fully customize and book every show on my own, I do raw and smackdown with 4 matches each. It gets tedious a lot of the time but I find it a lot more rewarding when you finally make it to a PPV, I have never really enjoyed letting the ai book the show even using match tables. So if you are also someone who doesn’t find that way of playing much fun either, I 100% would suggest trying to book your own shows with a few less matches to make it manageable
i usually do that to.. i try to set up the cards myself.. if the AI puts in a good match ill keep it, but sometimes i do my own cards, and alot of the times in the end the PLEs turn out to be good events...even with a lil build up to it... what i hate is when the PLE ends then im like ok now what... i start a new month over who do i pick for #1 contenders do i do it now or see how the divisional rankings play out for the next few weeks and then decide on the PLE matches about a week before the PLE. lol
@@MikeHenry3280 I do mostly qualifying matches and tournaments to find challengers for the next ple, unless there is a specific rivalry I want to begin between two people
NXT u can only go down to 6 is Raw and Smackdown not the same?

Hey Matt you’re the best. I keep Universe Mode the same. The only thing I changed was Raw and SmackDown to their 2002 versions. I love the SmackDown fist 👊 and it looks cool with entrances. I wish WWE would bring back cool stages for Raw and SmackDown. Keep up the great work Matt. Your amazing.

I already set up my fully up to date universe mode(play through the assumed mania card with my own twist. Just got through backlash (in France) and nearing nxt battle grounds I think. Watching the video to get ideas and support the Chanel. Keep up the good work
The weekly repetive rivalry matches kills replay value. No rivalry fight 4 times before the actual PLE
Yeah , this thing sucks . Should have included more options like interference , promos etc.
23 and 24 have done a better job not having rivals fight 4x before ppv you can in 24 you can choose who they have matches against depending on the rivalry action
For four man factions their 2 man entrances are set to entrance seperate so you gotta go in and edit
If you keep one rivalry slot open on a show you can actually do rivalry actions for all your matches otherwise you are limited to only the 4 rivalries having actions
Edit it yourself. It will be the story you want. Just a lot more hands on. Also maybe try a new or old era. I feel if we had intros and promos it would be almost perfect

Match tables for rivalries are different than regular match tables. Changing the format or regular one on one or tag matches do not change the match types for rivalries you have to change them separately. That’s always been a thing

Loved this vid fellow Matt! I’m already upto Summerslam in my Universe mode and I’ve come across a few bugs.
The most annoying thing that I’ve noticed is ladder matches take FOREVER. It’s almost like the AI forget they’re in a ladder match, and my MITB entire card glitched out big time. Can’t remember what I edited within the PPV but it sent the whole thing into a tailspin. The women’s MITB ladder match was going for half an hour and not one participant went for the briefcase, and Andre the Giant ended up winning the men’s MITB by pinfall…😂. You read that right, no one went for a ladder for a good 20 minutes and Andre just pinned a man and won it which was hilarious.
AI cash ins are glitched out too. I spectated a normal 1v1 match with my women’s champion, the women’s MITB just inserted herself into the match without no control from me, it ended up like a 2vs1 handicap match where Miss MITB just kept attacking the champion and not who she was wrestling, and when the match finished and the champ eventually lost, the 3 wrestlers just stood frozen in the ring and just stopped doing anything for ages. My guess was that was an AI attempted pre match cash in, and the whole thing just broke.
So yeah plenty of bugs, but it’s the first universe mode I’ve played since wwe13, so it all seems so fricken cool to me even though it might be boring and repetitive and buggy to others!
Would love it if you kept doing fun play throughs of universe in different forms and seeing what other bugs you find cos when they happened to me I googled to see if anyone had a fix and it felt like it was only happening to me so I’d love to see what else you might find so we’re all aware of it in our own universe modes.

I personally don’t set up rivalries and just set up all matches week to week in every show and design the matches myself.
Do you do ai makes the matches or you go in for every show and make it your own
@@AssembleShow I delete all matches and start fresh the way I want the show to run. Makes it feel like I’m the gm or the person organizing each show more. Then I set up my rivalry matches in the slots I want with the actions I want or even give the rivalry a break in some week. You can end the rivalry the same way at a pay per view or however you like. I just feel that way it’s more creative and you have ultimate control of your universe. It may be tedious to some but for me it feels more immersive and I can get creative week to week how each show runs and whether my rivalries even have an interaction or take a break. I do play all my matches and rarely simulate and do about 7 matches per show with nxt having about 5. I also added aew show on Thursdays

@cvillain2677 legit wish I had the time and patience for that.. i get maybe 2 hours of gaming a day and I wanna maximise it as much as possible. Which is why I LOVED season mode in the old games. Superstar mode on UM is nice but 0 storylines is a drag
@@beardedweirdo790 I can understand that. I play about the same, maybe two hours. Kind of take it slow and play one show a day or sometimes two. I have papers with writing on my next matches or ideas for upcoming shows or future ple 😂

what i do for my universe i just put everyone in the mid card division so a have a lot more random matches so i don’t have the same people fighting every week and it can have someone fight for the world title who would usually not be in the title picture and you could also build your own story around it
One cool thing is you can have a superstar in 2 factions at the same time. I did it for Jimmy to be in the bloodline and the usos.
My universe so bugged man. My mitb holders don’t even come out with the briefcase. The cards will have matches on the card screen and whole time it be a different match in its place it’s crazy man. They need a universe mode revamp
ive put a good number of hours more than id care to admit making superstars and downloading them and sign and editing all my universe mode so a few weeks of work goes into universe mode for me before i actually start using it
I usually put the modern roster together between Raw and Smackdown and make a legends show and change matches as i see fit

Tbh i like having some Custom Championships for like US and World cause i like making my own Champ History its also easier to see days held without the past champs

A long time ago I downloaded a spinner wheel app and I use it for a draft whenever I’m setting up universes mode

Does Gm mode add DLC superstars into a save slot you have open before they’re released or do you have to start a new gm mode to use the dlc ?😊
Yeah….. I don’t really do all the mode’s anymore and I also gave up playing the story mode a long time ago when I release the the requirements to be allowed to write the story for that mode is that you are a insane amount of lead paint chips as a kid!!! And I am happy that I saw this before I did start up any mode again!?! I was thinking about trying this or GM mode….. but now I know about the problems here and I’ve seen a lot of the problems in GM mode, I probably won’t try this year. But I also hope they fix whatever so you can have your own custom characters in any of these game modes someday!?!
Hey Matt. I'm not sure if you know this, but if you alter the Universe but the match card doesn't change, all you have to do is back out to the main menu and go back into Universe Mode and the match card SHOULD update based on the new changes. At least, that's how it's worked for me in the past. If you're already aware of this, please disregard.

It's going very well Hogan vs Flair in a long year rivalry
So, a heads up... If you don't make rivalries at all, and use a spreadsheet instead, you can use rivalry actions (all of them) in every single match if you wanted. You just have to keep track of what's happening yourself.
Hey Matt one question I need to ask and not sure if anyone else in the community is having the same problem but going from each PPV if I skip a couple weeks I always end up having new champions. It’s like they are having matches on raw and smackdown even though I’ve not pre set any match types for having title matches in smackdown or raw. I wonder if this was occurring for anyone else as I’m always having to switch it back to the original title holders before the next PPV. Thanks Matt!!
will new dlc wrestlers be included in the copy of the save? If we do the edit/copy before the dlc come out?
For match table to work you have to do it before you click on it. I never use the match table because I play my universe mode and plan it out myself. Just like rivalries I just plan them out. I keep automatic on if someone attack someone it will set them as a rival instead of me going in there having to do that.
@Assemble I will say it’s really tedious process in order to fix universe mode the only 2 things I wanted fixed is being able to use alternate attiers not mess up the rivalry when they are already in a rivalry and secondly I want 2k to fix is being able to use the run in payback in universe mode matches
So you can use alternate attires for in game characters in Universe, but it'll reset the rivalry system? If so couldn't you just use free mode? To set it?
I'm asking because it's been 2 years since I skipped Universe. If I can use alternate attires, and sliders/movesets that save. I'm happy
@smoothrealism8259 if you have on an alt attire in Universe rivalry action cutscenes there's a small chance that someone will be invisible. I had this problem last year with Austin Theory and Eve and now this year I'm having that issue with Carmella

Universe mode is something that I love but has wound me up for a long time. I spend more time getting it to where I want than actually playing it.
Sometimes I want to just run one brand for simplicity so I set up a super RAW, but then end up with a bloated roster I can’t manage (pretty accurate to real life to be fair)
Until they make it so MITB can go after both brands world title that’s the thing that stumps me most, because I don’t want them pinned to one brand unless I make a one brand universe
Universe mode can be very enjoyable, as long as you know how to improvise and go with the flow. if you’re a control freak, and has to have things a certain way, you won’t like this mode, but if you don’t mess around with the rivalries, turn automatic rivalries off and you set up the divisions properly, only use rival reactions with free mode or whatever the game suggests, It’s very enjoyable. I just make minor adjustments as I go here and there and it works out so much better.
this is the only way to play it.
i also suggest trying one major show with one division for a belt of your choice. make as weird of a match table as you want, make every match eligible for championship, and put every single wrestler you’ve got into the same division. set it to 9 matches and you’ve basically got a show of crazy matchups all competing for one belt
it gives me lots of weird matchups - i kinda use it as a wtf generator and with CAWs it’s pretty fun.
it’s way better than tediously micromanaging the belts and divisions and rivalries imo
if you make a rivalry between mr money in the bank and who you want to cash against, the rivalry actions with the cash ins work better

A question how come maybe only to me it happens the supertas created in community creations if I put them as a manager I disappear the models and put the presets not those created by me as I do
I haven't picked up 2k24 as yet, but I was just curious about the Universe mode. Have they fixed it compared to 2k23 or is it pretty much the same?
the contenters section is confusing. Each superstar can compete TO ONE ONLY category. if for example I put the rock as a team in a tag and set them to compete for the Tag Team titles, he automatically CANNOT compete for the WWE Championship solo. I haven't understand the concept of contenters yet. Does the game automatically book them to play one-another more often? Is everyone competing for everything or is it hard locked according the contenters section? Does it matter who you activate or not in the contenters?
Extra question. Can we set up a kING OF THE RING tournament? I have seen that there are the show's images, etc but I cannot set a tournament anywhere

I did a universe mode on Thursdays I made GLOW 2.0 (Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling) and empty Sunday slots for pay preview it would be Ladies Wrestling only I downloaded some custom created women and I added wwe Ladies roosters in GLOW shows

Quick question that needs to be answered right now cause I am starting Universe mode today. How do I get all my custom teams and different title holders from Roster (Play Mode) to be imported to Universe mode without doing making me do it all again?
Hey Assemble, you know how you can get rivalries to end in universe mode without having to delete them? They seem to go on forever, had this issue in 2k23 as well.

My issue is that even when you change the rivalry match table it will default the matches to normal 1 v 1 as you can see on the cutscenes that you select. So even if you want all hardcore matches it will change the match rules to normal if there is a scene like a slap before the match.
So far for mine I'm doing two different ones on different accounts and on my second one nxt is gone for good everyone is on the main roster two different show's all the teams disbanded as well and no managers
Instead of having the women’s tag titles on both shows i just set it for raw and set a midcard women’s title on smackdown

For the two royal rumble match set ups for the match tables, does the game recognize that it’s one men and one women?
I usually only fool with power rankings when it comes to shoe horning my custom wreslters into the mix
when i use alt attires and start the match it changes ot the original attire it makes no sense and then the teams i create dont work as well
Yo Assemble for the Power Rankings, the top like 10 I believe (or top 5) get stat boosts. that's what that does.

What does the 'other' category actually do for matching?
For all the quality of life improvements they made to this game, not upgrading Universe Mode feels like the only negative to the game. We need Saturday PLEs, the ability to make a PLE a one or two night event. So Wrestlemania would be defaulted to two nights but for fun we can make any PLE a two night event. Royal Rumble two nights with the Women's Rumble closing the show Saturday and the Men's Rumble closes the show Sunday. Two Night Summerslam, again it's a video game let us have fun with it. Also the idea of starting a Universe with a Blank Calendar and letting us truly customize it from the start needs to be a thing.
Yup. Couldn’t agree more, real big miss on 2Ks part. Also, I’d love to see the calendar changed to a real calendar year rather than just the 28 day months. Feels super weird doing it that way.
Since it’s 2K24, it should start in 2024, moving on to 2025, 2026 etc.
@porkmashups2990 it can't these games always have had last years arenas but the updated weekly shows. Agree with you on the 2 night shows as Saturday PLE events
I’m still very confused by the match table. I don’t want pre set matches to begin with I Wanna customize my own matches for every show so do I even need to use the match table?
I just copy the current WWE roster and then vacate all titles then run tournaments for the vacant titles. This allows me to then create my own storylines going forward instead of copying WWE's current storylines
@AssembleShow i'm having this weird glitch where my allies are not saving, last night i went through half of my roster and set up their allies HOWEVER it didn't save properly i closed the game twice and some allies saved but others didnt, what should i do?
i wish you could use regular refs in universe mode for special guest referees , i would like to spectate the match but through a ref

This may be a dumb question but does the game do that stupid glitch still where you try moving someone in the rankings & it doesn't switch the 2 people's spots? I don't know if I was the only one who ever experienced that in 2K23 but I'd have someone they put at like rank 8 & I'd try moving them to rank 2 & it wouldn't allow them to switch I hated it.
I want the ability to set certain superstars as "Part Timers". That way they only show up for an occasional rivalry or for a big title fight. But then disappear again for a while. I know I can do this manually by just adding or removing them from the roster. However it would be nice too have a setting for this.
I also don't want my champions fighting matches every single week. The game needs to recognize who the champs are and not continually put them in matches week after week.
I also want a setting that randomly adds surprise entrants to the royal rumble. Normally I manually go into my rumble and throw in either a few legends or a few wrestlers that aren't assigned to any shows. I do this as surprise entrants, but it would be awesome if the game would randomly add in a surprise return or two into each royal rumble. Would add to the excitement and realism.
In my universe I got the rock as undisputed champ and leader of the bloodline. He beat reigns to win the title and the tribal chief title, Setting up Roman to come back as the big dog to win the royal rumble and do big dog reigns vs rock at mania

can someone explain to me why my characters entrance reset in universe mode when i edit my that character?
The Match Table is very broken… I lowered AND EVEN REMOVED the Single Match percentage entirely and even set it to only occur once per show and then regenerated the matches and I still had Single Matches all over the place (and yes, I even maxed out the Table with other match types).
Does anyone know if universe mode still gives the option to fight the Undertaker at Mania with the cutscenes?

i believe i had a rematch from wrestlemania with the rock and roman with drew as the special guest ref (also the mitb holder) i feel like drew shouldve been able to cash while reffing the match but wasn’t a option

Attitude era setup with no split roster and only one set of titles . That’s the setup I would like to see and honestly how WWE should be . Having multiple tag and world champs devalues the meaning of the title
I cant get Roman’s full entrance on universe mode. Idk what or why happens but he does his generic solo entrance with everyone just walking behind. It works fine in every other mode, does anyone know what I can do?
