So proud to be from the city that built HMS Belfast, makes me well up that she helped protected the Arctic convoys supplying the Russians War materials and supplies. Such a little ship that went up against the German Scharnhorst being the only one in pursuit after HMS Sheffield and Norfolk were hit with engine problems at the battle of the Cape lighting her up before the Duke of York roared though the rough sea. Then leading at D day and helping in the Korean war. What a ship, built by the men at Harland and Wolff, ruling the sea for many years 💙
As a kid I built a 1/600 scale HMS Belfast from an Airfix kit. Learnt so many things (I didn't know there's a Walrus seaplane) and most importantly had a ton of fun fixing up the scale model!!
HMS Belfast was really a Sea Worthy she even serve in the East in the Pacific Theater and after WW2 she serve again during the Korean War which making her a Long Bloody Service. Also First comment i think
Roberts fired at 0523. Orion fired at either 0523 according to one of Belfast's own gunnery officers' log book. Belfast fired "4 minutes" after Orion. Another candidate was Ramilles at any time between 0515 and 0530.

Neither. Warspite fired at 0530, Belfast fired at 0527, Orion and Roberts fired at 0523.
The first shots were fired at 5.24 by HMS Orion.
