They missed a super crucial interaction with strict proctor. Evoke is an ETB abiliity, so game 2 the evoke abiliity should have been countered and the fury shouldn't have been sacrificed.
Actually Evoke represents two abilities: a static ability that functions in any zone from which the card with evoke can be cast and a triggered ability that functions on the battlefield. They did it right.
@@VengavineNo? The "triggered ability that functions on the battlefield" (sacrifice the creature) should create a second strict proctor trigger in addition to the one that deals 4 damage. That second trigger obviously wasn't payed for so the fury shouldn't be sacrificed.
@@Wobbershizzle The sacrifice part is from Evoke, which is a static ability, not s triggered ability. Dealing four damage is a triggered ability.
Good catch, Fury should've stuck around
@@Vengavine Evoke has both a static and a triggered ability. The static ability is that you are able to cast it from any legal zone for it's evoke cost. The triggered ability is, “when this permanent enters the battlefield, if its evoke cost was paid, its controller sacrifices it.” Fury also has an additional triggered ability aka the ability the deals 4 when it enters. 4c player paid the 2 for the "deal 4 damage" ability but did not pay the 2 for the evoke ETB. Therefore, that ability is countered and Fury remains on the battle field.
Let’s gooo Professor Elk!!!
I just watched a man fetch a Steam Vents off a Windswept Heath. That decks mana might be good but its not that good...
I was just about to say that.
Pretty poor sideboard card proctor is lol, id be so happy to see it... yes pitch cast fury for free on my t2, i will stack my evoke etb first. I would noy ljke to pay the 2 mana thus countering the evoke, also your stuffs dead and now im the scam player lol
Yeah I tried it once and they played a solitude paid 2 for the exile effect then blocked and killed my creature since the sacrifice trigger was countered. Haven't played the card since
