I Love the Pintuck version!!!! So elegant!
Oh wow. I absolutely loved this. I especially love the black with pintucks and the red cover up. ❤
12:50 love this look with the shorts and blouse! 🎉
So inspiring. Thank you.
Beautiful!
I absolutely love that floral, spotty, abstract fabric. You've made that blouse a piece of wearable art....... just gorgeous! ❤
These tops are all so nice! I really like the contrasting placket, pintucks, and shirring. Always a treat to see how you will pair your tops with the bottoms.
They are so lovely and the pin ticks are a great variation.
Can’t do the shirring because I can’t find the right elastic, so good to know that I can gather or do pin tucks. It’s good to see your past makes again. Your videos are so professional. Lots of hours of work sewing, filming and editing. Thank you!❤
Love the details you added. Very inspiring. Also love the contrast neck piece. I can now see how it does lengthen you.
I understand about not caring for certain colors (yellow in the first blouse, I think.) I feel that way about particular colors as well. However, it was very becoming on you!!
Love shearing top! Unexpected but BEAUTIFUL
Thank you! 😊 it’s a little bit wild.
Love the pin tuck version! I dislike shirring, just do and never thought the gathered version only was worth the buy. But those pin tucks are awesome!🎉
I didn't think I wanted this pattern until I watched this video and now I've bought it. I especially like the pin tuck version.
The red one also has an subtle yet elegant peplum effect from adding the drawstring.
So many ideas ... one blouse 😊
I have been wanting to try the shirring technique, excited to have this project on my list finally! But really interested in the pintucks too.
Go for it!
The Yellow floral ... the black trouser brings the red out and the yellow fades.
I agree.
I absolutely love the navy and pink. Gorgeous
I like the blouse with the yellow in it and trimmed in red. Optical illusion though, as I see cartoon character Daffy Duck in it. I better ask my husband who is a psychologist what it all means. LOL
You have made a lot of amazing versions of the Ballad blouse❤.
Thanks a lot 😊
18:00 Love how the pintucks make a subtle dimension change on the black plain fabric but give a special detail to the red and the shirring truly elevates the design on the front.
I love ALL these outfits!! Beautiful!
Yay! Thank you!
Wow! The Lagos are exactly like the pink blue 👚 blouse Amazing and I love the matching shorts.
Love the polka dots with red placket. Love the pronounced curves of the hem. I wonder if the blouse could be extended to a shirt dress? So beautiful. Chic casual.
The black pants are wonderful and very flattering .. did you make those? I like them with the yellow print blouse version, and think they would be good with your unusual green, matching shoes and bag, accessories.
They are ready to wear. I can't find that fabric to buy anywhere...so sometimes I do buy some basics. It's all about the fabric.
Definitely need these! 😂
Maybe wearing a yellow skirt or shorts with the pansy blouse would work. Against the bright yellow the print will look comparatively tame.
I really really dislike yellow so I can’t fathom wearing a whole yellow garment.
I love how you inspire me. I’ve made the Ballard blouse and now I think I need to make another! The floral with the yellow looks fabulous with the green skirt😊
It’s a way I found that I can still wear it :)
Gorgeous makes!
Oo! I need blouses 😂❤😂
Great looks ❤
Thank you!!
Have you cosidered spot dyeing over the yellow? The tops are all lovely.
Hi Karina, I am currently working on a wearable muslin of this pattern. It is making me a fan of Love Notions! But, I have a question. After gathering and sewing the shoulder seams, the outer ends of the shoulder seams are swooping up. The seam allowance is consistent for the seams, so IDK what is causing it. Could it be due to the gathering? Should I just ignore it and expect it to settle down by the time I add sleeves? The fabric is a lightweight cotton (similar weave to QC but much lighter weight).
I don’t know what you mean by the seam “sweeping” up. I would not make assumptions on fit before sewing the sleeve.
Perhaps watch one of Katrina’s tutorial videos on the Ballad, seeing how she makes it, might help work out where you’re having the problem. She has linked them in the description. Sew-alongs always help me out😊.
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles I'm in the process of sewing on the sleeves, but I've been getting some drag lines. At first, I aligned the triangle mark with where the shoulder seam would be. The instructions say to match up the triangle marking at the top of the sleeve with the yoke seam, so I tried this. But since the yoke seam fall in front of where a shoulder seam would usually be, this ends up with much more of the sleeve ease in the front armscye and too little in the back. I tried offsetting the sleeve seam from the side seam, and this helps a bit. But I am still getting the same drag lines. (Note that I took the bottom of the armscye up by 3/4 inch and shortened the sleeve cap by the same amount. This is the usual adjustment I need to make, but I have never done it with sleeves.)
I'm going to try narrowing the sleeve cap next. I think it is too flat and wide.
Do people dress better more than not where you live? Everyone here is so casual and almost tacky, that I feel uncomfortable to dress nicer.
Depends where you go. Women do make an effort here but some don’t. I don’t let that influence me. I want to feel good about going out of the house…. No matter what others wear 😀
I know what you mean. It’s become worse since the pandemic ended. Sneakers with everything, pj sitings at the market, wrinkled clothes, etc. I wear my Allegro skirt and Forte top to the corner store and feel like a million bucks. Just because some people look like bums doesn’t mean I have to. You do you!
