My wife is from Kenya (Ndumberi, but she lived in Nairobi as an adult) and I'm a white American man from West Virginia. She and her Kenyan girlfriends, sisters, and mom all seem to think that we, whether they're attracted to us or not, are generally easygoing and more loving/caring than black men, and especially African black men. I don't think we are, necessarily, but I wonder why that seems to be the general consensus? I've not heard that they think we're all rich before, haha! I'm certainly not, but I do okay, I suppose. I can't wait to visit her homeland for the first time next year, I won't even pretend like it's not scary to me, but it's really exciting, too. I'm learning a lot about the culture, and I find it absolutely fascinating.

Just look at all the "how to bag a white man videos"- mainly Kenya hosts or followers. Interracial relationships are beautiful. But I also agree part of the problem with these women are stereotyped perceptions of cofortable living or better romance or more easy going. And also that bit about social perception and feeling like you are special because a white man is attracted to you as a black girl, has the opposite message. Because actually what you are saying is black people arent beautiful and you think somehow you are an exception. There are so many dynamics at play. But God bless true love when it is real and absent of these ignorant mindsets.
